Picking your project in advance is required so they can have all your stuff ready. The fine details like colors and stains are decided on the spot. Funny enough, 3 out of 7 of us chose the same project! It was the holiday card display board. But even when that happens, as you can see with my picture, they all turned out very different. The class was booked for three hours and we were indeed there for 3 hours. They sell alcoholic bevvies for $5 and had a great selection. They have multiple bathroom stalls there that are very clean. They have a sink in the back with special soap that takes off any paint you might get on your hands/ nails. The staining process you gotta be careful with and wear the gloves. And the sanding process please be careful. A friend got a huge splinter which was bleeding. They helped us clean it up and put a bandaid on it so she could keep creating. Employees were super helpful and easy to flag when you needed help. But they pretty much roamed around the whole time and jumped in to help workout needing to be called over. I was impressed. They took group photos for us and we left with our beautiful projects! We can't wait to come back. They have events for kids as well.

I am very frustrated by the situation and the lack of communication. It is unprofessional not to follow up after a cancellation on your part, and my attempts to reach anyone by phone have been unsuccessful. It would be great if anyone would answer me or at least acknowledge my correspondence.

The two hour class went by in a flash and I left with a picture I'm quite proud of. I cant wait to go again! Our instuctor was Emma and she was awesome. She took us step by step, giving us ample time to finish each step before moving on. She also walked the room assisting wherever anyone needed. At the beginning of class we each put on an apron, Emma went over our tools (canvas, 3 paintbrushes, cup of water, paper towel, and colors...that was it!), and it was time to begin. About an hour in we were given a 15-20 min break to walk around the hotel (our class was held at Embassy Orlando), use the restroom, etc...Once class was over Emma took a picture of each of us, with our paintings, for their FB page. This is perfect for date night (while women dominated, there were guys), ladies night, birthday, etc...No food was served but drinks were on hand for purchase.

Let me start by saying that the event was sold out so the class was full. The room was loud which made it quite difficult to follow and hear the instructor. I have to say that our instructor did an great job at walking us through the different steps. She also walked around the room to help anyone who needed advice or any kind of assistance. She also gave us a 15 mins break to touch up/ finish up, refill our drinks, etc. My criticism for the class is as follows: 1) I felt that the room we had was too small for the size of the class 2) I think the seating should have been better arranged. My friend and I had our backs to the instructor making it hard to follow 3) I know paint nite is supposed to be a great time with friends but at the same time I feel it is important to respect the other participants so that they could also enjoy the experience. My overall experience was OK. I completed the painting but it didn't really look like the example because I skipped a few step, being unable to hear the instructor. I'd like to reiterate that the instructor was AWESOME and did a good job. Some of the participants were loud and it made it hard for others to enjoy.

I had not been to Sam's since they moved across the street a few years ago. As a customer I went for some colored pencils and the staff was extremely helpful in finding items for a gift. I was walked by a staff member to several areas of the store and items to choose from were placed in my hands while the staff member explained the features and made recommendations. The level of customer service and help is something you don't commonly see in retail stores these days. The store has a tranquil vibe which makes it fun to browse the many gift items. Their stock is unique in that they carry a breadth of items that are high quality at a range of prices. You can spend a lot of time here finding inspiration and treasures. They offer art classes and during the Christmas season they offered free make and take craft classes. They had a small cardboard 'house or cottage' setup inside the store with tables stocked with all the supplies you needed for that weeks's free project. This was not just for kids. I bought cookies from the cafe, and my girlfriend enjoyed a coffee and muffin. We spent a relaxing hour at the table, taking our time to relax and talk. Another customer joined us and we had a really nice conversation about the holidays. Our pieces were left with the shop to be fired in the kiln; a few days later, we were called to pick up our pieces. My gnome turned out greater than expected; so good that I will not be placing it on the porch with our other small plants and gnomes. My girlfriend's pieces are going to make wonderful Christmas gifts. I wish I could custom make some gingerbread men and snowmen ornaments for our relatives that lost every in the recent floods. We will be returning soon to take pottery wheel classes, and to make custom dishes. Oh,,, while painting our pieces, I noticed that the brush holder cups, the cookie plate, and several other items in the shop were handmade. This is a great way to show the practicality of making things, and the creative ideas put to use.
