It's kind of funny to call this a compact store because it's huge for Amsterdam! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I bought a cool new rear light for my bike and a hard brush for my terrace. Try cycling home with a big push broom! The cashier was smart and knew I needed my bungie cord package opened so she grabbed a pair of cutters and helped me. It was nice and quiet on a Saturday afternoon too.

Some things seemed more expensive to me, but most are reasonably priced. Everything is neatly organized and sorted out and the customer service is great. I bought a power drill and realized when I got home that I had forgot to use a coupon that I clipped out. Went back a few days later to pick up more things and asked them if I could also do a price adjustment for the power drill I had purchased. They told me my coupon had already expired, but they had another coupon that I could use and they adjusted it for me. Saved 20% instead of 25%, but still good! I'm a happy camper. Seems like they have coupons every week.

Everyone working there was smiling - no joke. The vibe in this particular store is patient and positive - even 10 minutes before closing. Yes, there's always a line at the checkout, and no self-checkout, but who cares when the folks are helpful and the mood is good? I consistently have good experiences here.

Everything is here, but the layout is a bit scattered--the planters were tucked away and took some hunting to find. Plenty of staff on the floor, though nobody really offers to help unless you track them down. Also, with so many checkout lanes, it's frustrating that only the 4 self-checkouts were open.
