I came here for an event by an outside organization. You will need to show your license to the guard gate. Then when you go in you need to go through a metal detector. After that, smooth sailing. We were off in a room to the right with about 30-35 people. It was a luncheon and the salmon was very good. Since Purim is upon us, the dessert included Hamataschen (triangular filled-pocket pastry associated with Purim. The name refers to Haman, the villain in the Purim story)! Apricot and raspberry! Everyone in the synagogue is pleasant and helpful. I recommend going here for events, services and more! read more

On March 6, 2024 Paul and I had tickets to a concert here to celebrate Broadway and Beyond. This was one concert in a musical series produced by Cantor Magda Fishman. It was a very moving performance by Cantor Magna and friends including Cantor Meir Finkelstein, Maestro Tomer Adaddi, Yair Keydar, Broadway bound Academy and Julie Kleiner Davis. The theater was packed to the gills because the talent was overwhelming. We loved it so much that we will look to purchase the series next season. read more

We planned our wedding to be held there. We had over 125 invitees and they quoted us a price per person and it was the normal expected price. I've been there many times for bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs and weddings. The venue is very nice and the reception area is large and welcoming. The food was always very good and better than the usual mass cooking. We settled on a price and a date to be held in three months time. We signed the contract and left a substantial deposit. We then went to the printing company and ordered the invitations for the date and location. Four weeks before the event we went for a food tasting. At that time we were informed that we would not be able to get married and hold the reception in the synagogue. The reason for this exemption was because my fiancé did not convert to Judaism. We informed the caterer of this at the first meeting and he assured us that it wasn't a problem since the temple is not orthodox but more towards to reformed. We were shocked that he waited until a month before the wedding. We told him that we already sent out the invitations and what were we supposed to do now. He said that he would send all of the courses of the meal to the venue that we would select. I told him that we were having a black tie affair and that I wasn't going to serve delivered cold food in aluminum trays. He apologized and said that we would forfeit the deposit if we refused the food. I smiled at him and let him know in a way that he would be able to understand that the deposit would be refunded in the next 48 hours or the consequences would be very severe and costly to him, the congregation and the board of directors of the synagogue. I received the refund the following day. I'm was raised as a conservative Jew and observed the high holidays and a few other holidays. Since then I have not set foot into a synagogue other for other people's celebrations. If a synagogue isn't good enough for me to marry the love of my life then it's not good enough for me either.
