As a Black woman with extensions, I was intentional about asking whether the salon could properly service my hair. I clearly described the texture of my hair and the fact that I wear extensions. This conversation was an opportunity for transparency--but rather than addressing any potential limitations, it seems the priority was securing the booking. According to the website, the editorial blowout includes a wash, blow dry, and set. I arrived on time for my 10:00 AM appointment, but we didn't begin until 10:15 AM. Since services are listed by time, starting 15 minutes late was concerning. Despite this, I was charged for the full editorial service--even though the stylist decided not to wash my hair, stating it would take too long to dry due to the extensions. This was her decision, made for the sake of time, and not something I requested or agreed to. Yet, a wash is clearly included in the service description, and I was still charged for it. When I pointed this out to the receptionist, I was told a note would be made for my next appointment--one I hadn't booked and likely will not be booking. As a new client, I expected some form of consultation. What I received was minimal and only happened because I prompted it. I explained that I wanted a full-volume, '90s-inspired blowout, and while the stylist acknowledged this, the execution did not reflect my request. The appointment consisted mostly of styling with a curling iron and blow dryer. In terms of skill, if I had booked a standard blowout or an extension-specific blowout, I may have had a better experience. Unfortunately, the result did not meet my expectations or reflect what was advertised. My dissatisfaction was not just about the final look--it was about the lack of care in delivering what I specifically asked for and the failure to follow through on what the service includes. A simple, honest conversation could have set expectations clearly. Lastly, and most importantly: If your team is not trained or experienced in working with textured hair, extensions, or styles that fall outside your regular clientele, then a client's appointment is not the time to learn or experiment. Transparency and preparation are a form of respect--and they go a long way in building trust.

As others have mentioned yes this place is small but it didn't bother me as it's not like a regular salon that you can spend 2-3 hours in - this place you're in and out in 45 for a wash and blow dry. I've been to other salons that were warmer and offer you coffee or water and will hang up your jacket for you but as mentioned this is just a place to get in and out quickly. I think the lady who did my hair was Anna and in the end I was extremely pleased with how my hair turned out. I was nervous at first because she was drying my hair a different way than my usual hairdresser does but all that mattered was the end result and it looked excellent. Overall I was happy and I would definitely go back if I needed my hair done for a special occasion. With tax and tip it was close to $50 which is a bit pricey. For that price I'd like a bit more service like someone offering to hang my jacket and bring me a water. But maybe since they were so busy they were off their game. I ended up waiting 10 extra minutes for my appointment and finished 5 minutes early. This was a huge letdown, especially since my hair was such an important part of my maternity photoshoot--a once-in-a-lifetime memory. I am incredibly unhappy with the outcome. My top it off : I asked for a soft, curly look, but unfortunately, the result was nothing like what I envisioned. My hair ended up extremely messy and tangled, and it didn't have any flow. The curls were all over the place, when they should have been styled to flow away from my face. It was a total disaster, and I'm really disappointed with the service. My stylist Sandra came over ( which by the way she was promptly done her client before my appointment was to start) and brought me to her chair. You can modify and cancel on your own. I arrived early for my appointment and expected to wait a while, but I actually didn't have to wait too long. They took my jacket and bag and also offered me a complementary drink. This location is on the ground floor and has glass windows, so people can see as they pass by. They keep the place very clean. My stylist was Lila this time. I tried to search beforehand what her style is like and it seemed it would be a good fit. Luckily, I was right! She was very nice and listened to what I wanted. I wanted a trim, long layers and face framing. She frequently checked in to see if I was okay with the length, the amount of layers, where the layers start, etc. After styling, she showed me what the back of my hair looked like and I wanted to make a few changes. She did them no problem and was very patient. I loved how she took the time to also show me a few ways I could style my hair. So considerate and helpful! My hair turned out perfect. Thanks Lila! They provide hair stylists with training on how to use the wella hair colours and brands. They have various courses they can sign up for and then the stylists find models to practice the skills on. At the front of the school, they sell various Wella and Sebastian hair products. The training centre is extremely clean and everyone working here is extremely friendly. They have a kitchen for employees, models and students and it's stocked with coffee, teas, hot chocolate and other snacks for participants.
