I usually give a place a chance but if i see a trend of 3 or more times where i get poor customer service i will find a different place to shop. I've been here several times but last few times i went in and have been ignored. 2 of those time i was the only customer in there and there were 2 or 3 employes preoccupied with chit chatting with themselves. I was not aknowledged nor did they ever ask if i needed any help. There are one or two there that are nice and helpful but they are not always working....but there is a little crew of 2 or 3 that when they are the only ones in the store you will get ignored as you observe them goofing off or chit chatting while you stand there at the display tanks waiting. Im taking my bussiness to PNC on racetrack or to online vendors from now on. read more

Hands down the best pet store in the Panhandle region. Whenever I'm visiting the Fort Walton Beach area, I always try to swing by here. The quality of their aquatic creatures are definitely top of the line. Alot of variety as well! They have shrimp, bettas (lots of exotic and cool looking ones), tetras, cichlids, etc. to lots of plants. I've purchased numerous amano, cherry, gold, and green shrimp and they are all alive, healthy, and well. In fact, all of the shrimp got alot bigger! Which means that they were well cared for as they are all thriving. Alot of fish that I have purchased from other fish stores always end up dying or getting ich. None of the fish or shrimp I have purchased here has ever gotten sick or died. You can tell that here, they take extremely good care of their creatures as the tank waters are always clear, clean, and not cloudy. I can't tell you how great the customer service here is. Every time I visit, I'm always helped by an associate. Today, I swinged by to purchase some ember tetras for my bf since every pet store in my area were sold out. Luckily, Bluewater Zoo had the tetras in stock. Kurt, the associate that assisted me, was very helpful and proactive in making sure that the tetras would stay alive as I transported them back home to Pensacola. He made sure to add extra oxygen and also double bag so water does not get out. He even offered suggestions and tips on how to not stress out the tetras. As soon as I walked in the store, he assisted me. All of the tetras made it home alive and as soon as my bf put them in his tank, they were swimming around and schooling. The inside of the store is very clean and organized. There's plenty of decor that you can purchase for your tank as well as supplies (food, filters, lights, etc.). Prices are reasonable. Personally, I don't mind the prices as I know that the quality is great. read more

Great facility for supplies. DO NOT BUY FISH HERE. They are SICK. I bought two pleco's, a loach, two guppies and snails and within a few days everything except the snails died and managed to infect my other fish, thankfully only lost one danio from my previous fish. Been treating the ick which has helped a little and I keep a 70 gallon tank. I have had no problems with any other fish from any other store in this area. My water filter and ph levels are on point. Before buying the above fish I have 8 little danios, 2 catfish, 2 other guppies and tons of shrimp. This place was so beautiful and mesmerising when I walked in but should have guessed it was too good to be true. read more

We visit the area once a year, and this year our oldest child, a teenager, wanted to check out exotic pet shops near where we were staying. The Blue Water Zoo was really the only place within 50 miles or so that we could find, and it not only fit the bill, it exceeded our expectations. This is a nice little pet store that caters a little bit to each critter you may have. They let the local shelter bring animals in for adoption in addition to the animals they have for sale in the store. It is clean and well lit with nice people working there. Spent $200+ there and took advice of salesperson on which fish to buy for our setup. Out of many dozens a few didn't make it, but the owner graciously gave us credit toward other fish. Would definitely recommend buying here...locally owned and operated with integrity. read more
