Dealing with fire or water damage is already stressful, overwhelming, and honestly just a lot, but their team made the process so much easier to get through. From the very beginning, they were responsive, professional, and genuinely kind. Every single person I spoke with was helpful, patient, and just truly nice. Not the fake customer-service nice, but the kind of nice where you can tell they actually care about what you are going through. Their attention to detail was more than I have seen with any other company I have worked with. They documented everything thoroughly, including a written list of the items that were lost, along with pictures provided through a link to help make the insurance process as easy as possible. Anyone who has dealt with insurance knows how much of a headache that can be, and Bluewater really did everything they could to make that part less painful. I also really appreciated their honesty and transparency. Even though they were not able to help with the repair portion of my project, they told me well ahead of time and encouraged me to start getting quotes so I would not be delayed or left scrambling. That kind of communication matters so much when you are already dealing with a stressful situation. Bluewater Restoration truly goes above and beyond. They are responsive, detailed, honest, professional, and genuinely kind. We had a broken pipe in our OBX house, which caused damage to drywall, floor boards, etc. Bluewater and their staff were excellent in terms of providing clear, frequent communication, getting work completed on time, and being consistently friendly and helpful. They dealt with mold abatement and reconstruction, and checked with me frequently about any questions they had. I have not had this experience consistently with contractors in the OBX -- many of them seem to operate in a very casual manner and don't want to commit to work or timing in writing. Bluewater is quite the opposite -- they behaved very professionally throughout the process and got everything done in time. As an absent owner, I was confident that the work was in good hands with Bluewater and that I didn't need to go behind them and ensure that things got done correctly. Made a small leak turn into a much bigger problem!! Called the company to try to save my floor after a very slight water leak. Five boards were cupping and I was hoping to dry them out. After hauling in all of their equipment, taping things to the floor, and removing their equipment, the cupping is the least of my floor worries. They scratched the recently refinished hardwood so bad that I now have to redo the floor anyway. Biggest waste of $1500 ever documented!! read more

My wife and I own a house in Corolla, NC. Bluewater Restoration (BR) did a great job with the deconstruction, drying, and reconstruction. We are very pleased with the process and results. The house looked nice before the event, and it looks even better now and was reconstructed with consideration to FEMA guidelines should flooding reoccur. Corolla had 31 inches of rain from three major rain events in September and October 2016. We had a few inches of water on the first level after the second major rain event. I called BR, and they promptly were in the house to assess the damage. They rapidly did the deconstruction after the water receded and started drying the exterior walls. The wood was also treated with a biocide to retard microbial growth. My wife and I were at the house for Hurricane Matthew, and we had additional water intrusion to a level higher than the first event. BR promptly did a second drying. The first level was reconstructed with consideration given to materials and recommendations found in FEMA guidelines for homes that may be in a flood hazard area. Our house is X zone and not in a flood hazard, but 31 inches of rain saturated the ground and the runoff from subtle terrain elevation changes flooded several homes where we are. The house looks great and is better constructed to handle future events. This is always a very stressful situation for any homeowner. Bluewater Restoration made the process less stressful through their courtesy and professionalism. We are very pleased with the process and results. General Foreman Brian Thomas and his crew ; Tony, the Kevins and Kenny are professional and very easy to work with. Best of all Brian is always accessible by mobile phone!. Estimator Lauri Locklear knows her stuff! Great job providing estimates and proposals for dry out, clean up and rebuild. Bluewater is a multi craft company with mitigation experts, carpentry and plumbing available which make it easy for the home owners as it provides "one stop shopping". Bluewater uses "Xactimate 28" pricing so we had confidence that all charges would be reasonable and appropriate. I rarely write a review for an exceptional job but in this instance I felt compelled to do so. We arrived at our house in corolla at 4:00 Thursday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend only to find that a broken condensation pipe for the air conditioner located above the bedroom ceiling had cracked and water had drained for who knows how long through that bedroom and through the bedroom below. Called Bluewater at 4:30 and spoke with Laurie who said she would get some help out to us as quickly as possible. She called back to say they would be here at 6:30. Right on time 4 people showed up and for 3 hours they removed all the damaged drywall, insulation and carpet, and set dehumidifiers and drying equipment in the damaged rooms. They were the nicest people and so careful with everything they moved. Covered all the carpeting in the hallways that they were using and left the house totally clean. Came back the next day to check on everything and said they would check back with us over the Memorial Day weekend. We should be dried out in a few days and they also provide services to restore the rooms. I am totally confident they will do an amazing job. I hope no one has a water problem but if you do Bluewater should be your first call! read more
