This is a very difficult review for me to write. I see the glowing reviews. I read them before we ever signed our contract. That's why we chose Bluewater Pools. We trusted them based on how well others appeared to be treated, how responsive they seemed, and how supported past clients felt. That's what makes our experience so disheartening. As new pool owners, we did not know how much water loss was normal versus a sign of a problem. Our pool was completed in late September of 2025, and we were only able to use it a handful of times before closing it for the winter. During that time, we assumed some water loss was related to normal use of the spa and spillway feature and relied on assurances that everything was working as intended. It wasn't until the pool and spa were winterized and no longer in use that we realized something was seriously wrong. At that point, the spa was losing nearly a foot of water every two days. This made it clear the issue was not related to use or evaporation, but an active leak. We tried to be patient. We tried to be understanding. As someone who works in new home construction, I understand better than most that things happen during builds and that mistakes can be fixed. What matters is how they're handled. Unfortunately, when we raised legitimate concerns, we were ignored, dismissed, or made to feel like a nuisance. We paid in full, in cash, and yet were treated as though we were asking for favors rather than requesting warranty support for a system that never functioned properly. After months of being told there was no leak, along with ignored calls and broken promises that repairs would be made, we finally hired an independent pool company. They immediately found multiple installation errors, including return lines installed upside down, no check valve between the heater and chlorinator (which had only recently been added after being forgotten), and cracked pipes caused by excessive glue during installation. These defects were actively leaking and were the direct cause of our water loss. We paid out of pocket to fix issues that should never have existed. The build process itself was stressful and damaging to our new construction home. A construction incident resulted in gunite and cement being sprayed across our property and neighboring homes, damaging personal items and window screens. Subsequent cleanup caused additional damage and repairs that did not match the existing building materials, including broken roof tiles. While some efforts were made to address these issues, including assistance with additional concrete, the overall experience left us feeling guilted for problems that were not ours to own. We were repeatedly told the company had lost money on our pool and that we received a "really good deal" -- a deal we were never aware of, as it was simply the price presented to us by the sales representative. What hurts the most is not that things went wrong. It's that when they did, we were not treated with the care, respect, or accountability that so many other reviewers describe. I keep asking myself: why us? What did we do that warranted being repeatedly ignored, spoken to dismissively, and left to fix serious issues on our own? Was it because they lost money? Because we paid in full, in cash, and our project was no longer a priority? Writing this review goes against my nature. I don't want to be "that person." But future customers deserve honesty. If everything goes perfectly, you may have a great experience here. If it doesn't, be prepared to advocate fiercely for yourself. I truly wish our experience had matched the many outstanding reviews we read. Sadly, it did not. read more

We either had to redo our old pool or fill it in. Adam came out and beat all other quotes for whatever we decided. Finally we decided to fill it in. The crew was fantastic and did a great job. Terrible Customer Service, through sand in my yard from changing out the liner, used my shovel and equipment without asking, walked in my backyard to show neighbors my pool without asking first, the comments are endless on how the job was, took them 4 months to add a liner that is wrinkled to holy hell, i would get a more professional company because my 1 year old can do a more respectful job. read more

After a large tree fell in my pool and cut up the inground liner they came out and gave an estimate two thousand lower than other companies. The liner came in early and my pool was back in opperation within 2 weeks. The last liner I brought from them lasted 17 years and was still in great shape. I would never shy away from an inground liner pool and will call Bluewater for all my pool needs. They are wery professional and give prompt service. read more

Three months after ordering a pool cover and motor, Blue Water Pools was still unable to complete the job of installing both. The excuses were endless and call-backs always promised but rarely delivered. Weeks dragged on and on with no one coming out, or if they actually did show up (rare) were unable to figure out the install. Yet they are distributors of the cover AND motor. After three months and a family reunion RUINED, I finally had to hire a contractor to finish the job that Blue Water never did. Endless excuses and incompetence. Scheduled an appointment 3 weeks out and the day before the appointment, Adam called and asked how big we wanted the pool, and that we need to have x amount of feet from the property line and house (which we were aware of). Well, I told my husband the reason we are having them come out is to help us figure the dimensions, as our back yard is shaped like an (L) and Price will also be a determining factor. Well as it got to our appointment time and no one showed up, my husband called the company and the lady (receptionist) called the guy who was supposed to be coming out to give us the estimate, and apparently, he replied that was just about to call her and have her call us to let us know he was running 45 mins late. He could have called my husband as he did the day before and the fact that he wanted us to give him the dimensions for the size of the pool we wanted to be put in, was the reason we wanted him to come out. Be careful with thus company. Scheduled an appt to check out a bad pool heater. They came on time and were pleasant. They got part of the problem fixed, pool filter sand needed replacing. Unfortunately that seriously affected the heater performance after they left. we tried to get them to come back out but they said it would be another week, which was a problem because we had to shut down the pool pump. We had to physically go to their office to beg for a quicker service call. They came out that afternoon but then stripped a connection while working on it, which resullted with gushing water from the pump for hours until we noticed that problem. read more

Totally unprofessional , had the owner come by to do a pool estimate , immediately just pulled a number out of his butt without really asking what I wanted, then when asked on 3 different occasions for a written estimate they did not ever send it to me. I am totally satisfied with Bluewater Pools! They came out, did an estimate and stuck by it. I added a few more items that I wanted and they took care them with no problems. All work was professionally done and all employees were extremely friendly and easy to work with. When the job was done, they came out and took their time to explain how the controls worked and also were very patient explaining all of the chemicals and ph levels. I had made an appointment for 5:00pm on Monday for Adam to come & give an estimate for a new pool cover. It's an in ground pool. He didn't show up. Called back Tuesday to see what happened. They said it wasn't scheduled & set it up again for Wednesday at 5:00pm. Again nobody showed. I called at 5:20 to see if they were coming & Adam said it was for 6:30 at the office. I asked how he could give me an estimate if he didn't come & measure it or see it at my house. Adam ended up hanging up on me! He then called back about 6:30 & said "If you still want me to come, give me your address & phone number. I said you already have my address & you just called me on my phone. And I said are you going to show up this time? Again he(Adam) hung up on me! I took off 2 different days early for that! I'm glad I found out before I gave him any money. read more

They installed our fiberglass pool with a cover a couple years ago. We love the pool but after about a year their interest in helping us maintain it declined precipitously. The skimmer had a leak after 2 years. They treated us condescendingly the entire 2 months we asked them to fix it - we had to call every morning in order to get anything done. Also they installed the pool cover incorrectly. It is 3 inches off of where it should be, has never worked properly and is a pain in the ass (phone calls about it were also greeted with condescension). The electrical system also sucks and we had it repaired twice, one electrician said it was a fire hazard. I recommend them for digging a hole in the ground and putting a pool in the ground but look elsewhere for pool covers, electrical or maintenance. They make it very clear they don't care after they're done installing. read more

I'm shocked to see any negative reviews here. Their customer service was beyond my expectations. THis is the third pool I've had in Albuquerque so I've had the opportunity to use several different repair companies. During the summer they ALL get slammed, so I was really happy when I called Bluewater for help. Their guy (Adam) came over the next day, looked at the problem (automatic cover) and gave me options. The best part was that a couple of his suggestions would have reduced the amount of work the company could have charged me for. "Yeah, you COULD do tis, but I really dont think it's necessary right now." I liked hearing that! Then he gave me a price (more on that later) and the only bad news, the time frame. Said it might be as long as six weeks (cuz the Covid thing had cut factory production). I wasn't happy but I totally understood. But just 12 days later, I got a call from Adam and the next day my new cover was installed! Now this is not my first cover either, so I called and got some quotes from other companies (even two I had used in the past). Wow. Even with inflation, Bluewater saved me several hundreds of dollars. I am extremely happy! I know that Bluewater gets as busy as all the other companies, but from now on, they're gonna be the one I call. read more

I just don't believe this is a real company. They had the most informative website so they started out as my first choice. I sent them an email twice over a week ago and though I was added to a spam list no human ever responded; I went by their place of business twice and though there was a sign outside a chain link fence there was nothing else to indicate that it was not just somebody's house, all closed up with blinds drawn in the middle of the day - knocked on the door the second time and nobody ever answered. Finally today I called and the voicemail was not a company at all but somebody's private cellphone number who wasn't even listed on the site. I have not found a pool company in Albuquerque that actually exists yet but if and when I do I will shout it from the rooftops. This has been an experience, at the very least! read more

I had a winterizing of my pool scheduled with Bluewater for Monday at 11:00 and they did not show up. At 12:00 I gave up waiting and called them. The receptionist checked her scheduling book and saw me on it and which tech was supposed to do the service. She put me on hold to check with the tech who was assigned to service my pool. She came back online and told me the tech was running late but was leaving towards my house at that very minute. At 1:00 they had not shown up yet so I called Bluewater again. My call was and sent to voicemail (I assume it was blocked). I changed phones and called and they answered. That time I was told that my appointment was not actually scheduled until the following week, but they could get me in on Friday if I wanted to get it done this week. I said OK for Friday at 3:00. They did not show up at 3:00 nor 4:00. When I tried to call Bluewater, my number was apparently blocked and sent to email. This company used to be a quality company but the past few years had gone to hell. read more

DO NOT USE BLUEWTATER POOLS! I Paid $63,284 for 16x30 inground pool and spa. The Pool/Spa was installed in winter. Construction went fast, but when they went to fill pool first time the problems started. Improper check valves caused Spa to spill into pool streaking new plaster. Spa would not hold water, so plaster cured with no water in it all winter. I had to authorize final payment from Lyons Financial at 120 days to fund final or loan goes back through underwriting. Bluewater Salesman was great until final payment was made, then he had nothing to do with us. Bluewater said they could not perform pool-start up or finish pool and fix issues due to weather, so they promised to return in spring to finish pool install, fix issues, plus perform startup. Starting in late March they refused to respond to request to complete pool install and startup. It took almost a month, repeated calls, repeated trips to their offices, and finally letters to Lyon Financial to get a response. It never got any better. They installed spa therapy jets in wrong locations and had to jack-hammer new plaster to move jets to proper location. When they re-plastered, the replacement plaster job was garbage. They had to acid wash the entire pool due to the streaking when they first introduced water into spa. They entire plaster job looks like an old pool. Bluewater kept telling me the Spa was supposed drain below the steps each time I turn off pumps. That was B.S. There were no check-valves installed. It took four attempts to stop the spa draining. The In-floor cleaning system still does not work properly as cleaner heads were not installed as per approved plans and there are dead spots. Eventually, they finally started ignoring calls again, and at this point I know the promised warranty is worthless. read more

One Star only cayuse they only let you leave ZERO Stars. I waited for two weeks for an in-ground Hot Tub and water feature estimate. Was told it would take two days and two weeks later never received an estimate or even call back. I called and emailed numerous times with no response. I was told I would get a call back and nothing. He pushed back my landscaping job by two weeks before choosing to move on to another company. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME with this company. HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

They were awesome. They did the work that was quoted and no extra charges except for the ones we asked for. When I called for the pool closing, they were quick to respond and schedule. Everyone at the office and the owners were so polite and friendly. I know I will continue to use them to maintain my pool for start up and close down! We knew nothing about redoing a pool from top to bottom but Bluewater Pools made it easy for us. read more
