Almost every guy I know loves Mark's Work Warehouse. I don't know what it is, but I must admit,…read morethat I enjoy the store myself as well. The Halifax location is a good sized store and is well laid out, with women's fashions on one side and men's on the other. The selection is great, and the prices are quite reasonable. The staff are friendly and are always eager to help. Over the past few months they've had many savings specials. Recently they had a Ladies night where you save 20% off everything in the store, and they frequently have monthly specials where you save $10 when you spend $50 (upon presentation of a coupon). Overall, I've been quite pleased with this store and will continue to shop there in the future for myself and for others.

I want to give MWW 1 star, or nothing at all. Why? There is nothing in that damn store that appeals…read moreto me. Although, they have expanded to include more women's wear, there is still nothing there for me. There is no real variety, and most items are very similar. I'm not a fan of the women's footwear either. Ugly. But, this could all be just my personal taste, right? So 3 stars? If I where I dude.. (hmm Beyonce's song just popped into my head) If I were a dude, I think I would thoroughly enjoy Mark's. There is tonns of clothing; outerwear, sports wear, business wear. Whatever. A man can find whatever he is looking for in here. If you work in a business setting: hello, dress shirts, pants, jackets. If your a mechanic; hello overalls, coveralls, steal toe boots. And there is lots, not a little to choose from, lots! Name you're profession, there will be something there. MWW is not cheap, but it's not too expensive. It's a middle-of-the-road type of store, and you can find some deals, that's for sure. Most of the time I have been there with the bf, with a purchase he receives some kind of discount off for his next visit--hmmm, that makes sense as to why we go quite often.... So all-in-all, not for me. But good for him

Now the store is not very affordable at all.. You're hard pressed to find bargains and the ones you do find are typically extremely expensive brands that are discounted... but not to the point of the kind of affordability that Winners markets itself as. Prices are similar to or higher than department store prices. I only recommend shopping here if you really know what you want and have compared the prices to elsewhere.

Some times you go in, and it is like hitting the jackpot. You find everything and then some. Other times you will go in, and nothing, zero, nada. You just find nothing that you want, or maybe it is at the end of the feeding frenzy for all the shoppers before you. All picked over! Just wait for a new shipment to come in. Now, my experience at all Winners is the staff is found only, at the cash registers and dressing rooms. There are not staff walking up asking , may I help you. This is definitely a self-serve kind of place. Also, you can spend a lot of time in here. I have given many hours to perfect the shopping experience of Winners. Also ,not all stores carry the same merchandise. Happy Shopping!

Moores is not a place I go to often. But the mission was on. Pants and Shoes…read more Moores carries a nice selection of clothing for men. It can be a little on the high end for some, but the quality is very good here. We went when they had a fabulous sale on, buy one get the other for a dollar. You just cannot beat that! We got pants and a really nice pair of shoes. I would go back here again, my brother was very happy and looked great in the cloths.

I didn't have super high expectations based on the redundancy of the commercials. Cheeseball Quotes such as: "You're going to like the way you look" and "When everyone's looking at her, she'll be looking at you." - were playing in my head and as a result my expectations were low. As it turned out, Moores was actually a pretty decent shopping experience at this location. I realize that selling a suit to a guy who comes in with his girlfriend might be tough for some but our tailor/saleslady was great! She measured Mark and then sent us to an area of the store with all of the suites in his size. Once we had picked a few out she reappeared with more helpful hints on tailoring. We even left with shoes when all was said and done! Overall, a great experience! Perhaps this is uniform to tailoring in general but why the extra charges, Moores? If a suit comes without a hem then I don't think you ought to charge someone to finish sewing it. At Moores the cost of basic hemming is $10 and in Mark's case there was an extra cost to extend the sleeves as well... seemed odd to me but other than that, this was a great suit shopping experience! Painless, even for M.

When you first enter the store you'll find yourself faced with tables and tables of adorable nick nacks and homewares to browse though - so many cute mugs and beautiful candles! One day I dream that my home will be filled with them. They've also got journals, books, even a kids gift section. Further back you'll find clothing - men's is on the upper level and women's on the lower. They've also got a killer jewellery section (which is where I've found myself most often drooling over the rings and earrings). I never look closely at the clothing because I don't want to tempt myself (out of my price range), but just glancing at the racks I and tell there are a lot of cute things that I hear are really great quality. From the little bit of browsing I've done the sizes are all pretty small...whomp whomp. In the men's section you'll find wallets, shave kits and some really fun socks in addition to the standard clothing fare. Don't miss out on the back section behind the men's clothing where the sale stuff is! They've always got a good selection of sale things. I really love the idea of shopping at Biscuit General, but unless it's some of the smaller items I just don't have the budget for it. It can get very pricey very quickly. That being said if you have more room in your budget definitely give Biscuit General a shot - it's definitely a local gem!
