A few major positives: You can play any combination of the 4 nines (Red, White, Blue, Gold), all of which offer a variety of shots. The blues are short & technical, the Red are longer field shots with the other two a mixture. Not only can you drink during the round, the majority of people are drinking. The negative: You can drink during the round, which means you could potentially get stuck behind a group, or bunch of groups more interested in drinking than discing. Brewer park is a great place to wear out your arm, with a good combined score of ~10 down on 36 holes.

More open space and longer holes with lots of elevation to play with and still has one full "in the woods" hole and a few others do have trees or bushes to shoot around. North Course is a lot more wooded. mor confusing layout as it kinda crosses over itself a few times. i got lost the first 2 times i played north. North on its own would be a 3 Star but i like South so much that it gets a 4 overall.

A real treasure hides down the hill behind the playground: access to the Ledges and the Ledges Trail. It's amazing to see the giant sandstone outcroppings and to wind in and around. Part of the trail follows right along the river on one side and the ledges on the other, giving a good view of the variety of animals, including birds, turtles, and more. I was looking for…read morethe Lillian Anderson Arboretum and missed their drive and ended up following the sign for the Oshtemo Township Park. Boy, did we make the right turn! The park has 70 acres that includes tennis courts, playground, disc golf, pavilions, and walking trails. Even though the trails were snow covered, they were easy to follow. There are a lot of signs to make sure you know where you are. The forested area of the park is beautiful with rolling hills and as an added bonus you can connect to the Lillian Anderson Arboretum trails. I'm so glad we spent a few hours on a chilly Sunday exploring this beautiful area just west of Kalamazoo.

The nicer the weather, the more crowded it gets and this park/course is not by any means a "hidden jewel" it gets overly crowded during peak hours.

Highland Park is located in my neighborhood but I don't think I'm biased when I say it's one of the…read morebest parks in the city! Okay, maybe a little biased. But it's a huge (27.92 acres) oasis on the northeast side of GR. I'm always amazed at how big the park is when I visit. The lawns are kept up nicely and there is a group of neighbors who pick up trash in the park to keep it nice for visitors and residents. The park has lots of amenities, including picnic tables (recently repainted during a community beautifying project), splash pad, playground, parking lot, grills, and a beautiful garden with native pollinators. The grounds of the park are really nice to walk around and I saw lots of people walking their dogs. I would like to bring a picnic here in the summer as there's plenty of space to spread out as well as picnic tables available. The park is super kid friendly especially with the splash pad (although I would not be opposed to using it myself during the hot summer months). I am so happy to have such a wonderful park right in my own neighborhood and I encourage everyone to check it out, or at least find the park closest to you!

This course offers both short and long tees, and we always shoot from the shorts and still never…read moremake par! Well, once in a blue moon we do, and then we dance and hoot and holler. Other than that, we don't keep score! Several of the first few holes neighbor the serene and beautiful Sunset Lake, which is lovely but a potential disc-stealer. Interestingly enough, I lost my disc I'd had for 20 years on one of the basic straightaway holes. It must've nestled itself just right under a big pile of leaves. So if you found a bright orange Dragon disc with Beth Clark and my phone number on it ... well, it would be cool if you called! I loved that puppy (because it floats so I wouldn't lose it on those water holes). There's another water hazard spot on the hole that goes straight down the entry road, and yet another where you're supposed to drive it directly across the lake. I take the long way around because there's no way I'm going to get across it. My husband drives straight across and hasn't yet lost a disc on it (somebody knock on wood for me!) It's a great spot to bring your dog (we usually take ours off-leash and put it on if there's other dogs nearby), and a nice little neighborhood course.
