He offered to help me with my bags into the Zen Cabin. The wood stove warmed the cabin with its sparkling flames. He offered me some tea. I had seen pictures on the website- but lo and behold its real! Could it really be more beautiful in person? Yes it can! Erik has created a place that is warm, tasteful, uplifting, sensual, spiritual, comfortable and comforting. I stayed 3 nights. Zen River Retreat helped me to rest, recover from my hectic life---I was thankful for the quiet, the enchantment, the long soaks in the hot tub by the river. Days gave way to solid nights rest in the cozy comforts of a very nice bed's firm mattress. During my stay I was so happy to find the kitchen so well equipped; I had everything I needed to cook up my nourishments. Less than 2 hours from Seattle! I plan on going back in the every season to enjoy newly the place I love to call "my perfect getaway" to see nature's beauty unfurl along that delightful Lil' Quilcene River Erik likes to call The Zen River~~ He really did create a treasure for us to enjoy! It definitely fits right into the scenic area of the light mountains just west of Seattle. Surrounded by tall fir trees and crisp air, with no reception, it's truly a wonderful escape. I was there with an advocacy group, called RESULTS, and there was a Men's Church Group there on a retreat, as well. This beautiful site includes 120 wooded acres of which 40 have been developed with cabins, lodges and outdoor recreation areas for guest use. The log cabins are designed to hold 10 people. Each cabin is assigned a name (Mathers for example) and number (1-11). There's a little porch on the front. Enter the cabin and there's a medium sized common room with benches, a small table, and a tall shelf. The shelf in our cabin held extra blankets and below it were baskets for laundry upon departure. Each side of the cabin has 3 single beds and a bunk bed, so 10 total beds, and then its own bathroom. Each bathroom has two sinks, a good sized private shower, a toilet, and plenty of space to walk around. Behind the sink are nice wood window sills, with windows that could be wound open, and then a soap dispenser to the side. Each cabin side also has plenty of towels for each person and the beds have clean sheets, blankets, and a pillow on them. The towels could certainly be softer; they're pretty rough, but the blankets and sheets were very soft and comfortable. The bed was surprisingly comfortable! What a quality mattress for a cabin. My only other complaint about the cabins is that the lighting is too rough. It's very bright fluorescent lights on the ceiling. Incorporate some lamps and maybe even softer towels and the cabins would be perfect. There are nice hiking trails all around the cabin and you can hear the sounds of birds rustling through the trees. It's just beautiful. The Madison Lodge is right on Lake Flora. You can rent canoes or kayaks to go explore the lake. We didn't have time for that, but it was so nice to see. During the days, we spent time at the lodge. Breakfast was served from 8am to 9am. Really good breakfast! On the first day it was eggs, pancakes, sausage, and then there was cereal and oatmeal daily. The next day had delicious crispy bacon instead. Lunch was very good: sandwiches one day and burgers the next. Lunch and dinner always had salad and each meal also included a vegetarian option. Quite impressive! Marc managed the front lodge, Madison I believe, and the cooking crews. Really friendly guy and all very nice staff. During the course of the three days we were there, I was without any personal belongings since United had lost all of my stuff. Marc was incredibly kind and accommodating to ensure I had options for communication and brightened our long days with his friendly demeanor and good quality care. In the evening, we enjoyed exploring a little. It's a United Church of Christ location. So, there was a small chapel, but the chapel was more a room of expression with tiles and even chairs decorated to reflect causes, social justice, support of LGBT, inspirational quotes, and more. Next to the little Chapel room there was a phone room with an old red square phone with a long windy cord. Off of the main room there was also an Art/Game room and a Rec room with a ping ping table. We just borrowed some card games from the Art room and really enjoyed those. Great space. I was so glad that RESULTS took advantage of such a fantastic location to remove us from all chaos and just get down to talking about our issues: health, education, and alleviating poverty.

The breakfast was better than anything I was imagining. We were served fresh popovers and jam, a stuffed avocado half with salsa and egg on top, and a fresh pot of French press. When we arrived at Treehouse Point, everybody was so professional and kind! We were given a quick tour of all of the amenities in the lodge and other community areas. Then, we were directed to our tree house, Ananda. Just wow! It was cozy as well as spacious, and it was very well appointed with everything we could possibly need! Even though there were other tree houses around ours, we ALL enjoyed total privacy. A great deal of attention has been made in creating personal experiences while still tending to developing a very unique community. All building materials in our treehouse were the best quality available, and the workmanship is second to none! We walked around the grounds, being respectful of others' privacy. Every tree house was unique and beautiful! We then took the trail down to the Raging River. It was beautiful, but our spring has been unusually dry, and the river a little thirsty. Overnight, a rainstorm came through the area. The sound coming from a refreshed river the next morning was breathtaking! I wanted to wake up so I could experience it all, but instead I slept through it. I guess I slept comfortably! (And I am not young.) The bath houses were beautiful and felt like individual spa rooms. They were supplied with wonderful bath products, and the shower offered a pampering experience. Similarly, special products and amenities were provided in our private unit, including coffee and tea. We were going to wash our few dishes, but no dish soap was found, further demonstrating Treehouse Point's intent to pamper their guests. After waking up in the trees, we prepared our own mugs of coffee, tea, and nibbles. After a peaceful start to the day, we made our way to the lodge for breakfast (feeding the fish along the way). Our own breakfast was absolutely wonderful! The chef and souz chef prepared several wonderful dishes. The selections and quality of preparation were both outstanding! Our visit was so wonderful that we truly didn't want to leave! We made the visit to fulfill a bucket list item, but we are already talking about returning again, this time with friends. I could go on and share more, but I want you to delight in your own experience, just as we had. If you've been considering a visit to Treehouse Point, wait no longer. You will never regret it!

Sleeping in a beautifully crafted treehouse, surrounded by towering evergreens and the peaceful sounds of nature, was pure magic. It's such a cool and unique experience -- cozy, serene, and unlike any traditional hotel stay. One of my favorite memories is making s'mores by the fire and enjoying them beside the running river. We loved it so much that we booked another visit -- but unfortunately, we ran into an unexpected childcare situation that meant we had to cancel. It was incredibly disappointing and honestly very inconvenient. We had been so excited to return, and having to change plans at the last minute was stressful. That's where Abbey Rodriguez truly shined. She was so gracious, kind, and understanding throughout the entire situation. Instead of making us feel like we were causing a problem, she stepped in immediately, handled everything with compassion and professionalism, and made what could have been a frustrating experience feel manageable and supported. Her warmth and willingness to help turned a difficult moment into one that actually deepened our appreciation for TreeHouse Point. Exceptional places are special -- but exceptional people make them unforgettable. Abbey's graciousness and care showed us that TreeHouse Point isn't just magical because of the treehouses and the forest (though those are amazing!) -- it's magical because of the heart behind it. We are so happy with TreeHouse Point and so grateful for the way we were treated. We absolutely plan to visit again soon -- and next time, we can't wait to be back in the trees where the magic began.

Bring your girls and stay for a night or more in one of the two sleepover rooms... or come just for a day to experience one of the many craft workshops offered. My first time to the Art Cottage was an all day soldering/jewelry workshop with artist Terri Brush. The warm and bubbly owners, Kim & JoNell, planned a beautiful tomato soup & italian panini lunch for us halfway through the day, adding culinary excellence to the already amazing experience. The only thing that could make an art workshop at the Cottage better is plenty of inspiring snacks-- and they had those covered too! They served a caramel apple dessert, coffee, tea, and other refreshments through the art day, including a tray of leaf-shaped autumnal cookies straight out of the oven. The Cottage's class schedule is expanding and it's eclectic, ranging from soldering, jewelry, and photography workshops to mushroom foraging adventures (!!) and full cooking classes and demonstrations. We spent two days and one night at the cottage participating in the French Flea and had many opportunities to observe Kim and JoNell as the organizers and gracious hosts of a major event. The French Flea is an upscale market offering unusual and sought after items to the public with something for everyone. The vendor selection was great and included local and out of state folks. A big thanks to Mary Corso, Courtyard Antique Mall owner, for inviting me. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail makes every event a positive experience. The caterers served creative and ample portions of tasty food at a very fair price. Loved the watermelon water, it was such a refreshing surprise on our 97 degree day!. Another big bonus was the ample parking provided for the vendors and the public. The cottage is easy to find, less then a mile from the freeway but a tranquil world apart. The cottage was open to the public throughout the event and we heard many oohs and aahs as visitors explored the many nooks, crannies and amenities provided for guests. The cottage is a delightful retreat offering custom bed linens, fluffy guest robes, a great shower in the bathroom and several comfortable areas for lounging, reading or cozy visiting as in our case. And pampering begins as you arrive and continues your entire visit. We were welcomed back to the cottage after a long day with wine, cupcakes and candles. However my favorite treat, was fresh brewed coffee which greeted us in the morning , a great start to another day at the cottage. And you ask...would we participate in the French Flea again...am already signed up and preparing for next years event! Again you ask, would we return to the cottage...a resounding yes, just as soon as our schedules permit. Go and Enjoy!
