We took the drive from Tucson on the historic 79/80 just as the sun was setting, and the spectacular drive combined with this meal made for two huge highlights of our vacation. The service was top-notch from start to finish. The owner was super helpful in guiding us through the menu, and our server, Jess, was fantastic--both were nice, helpful, and fun. We definitely ordered way too much but were thrilled to have plenty of leftovers! We had the loaded baked potato, ribs, wings, and a salad. Seriously, I don't know why I even ordered the salad; I barely touched it after tasting the ribs. They were the definition of fall-off-the-bone and tasty deliciousness! You won't find much else in this town, but honestly, just coming here to eat was well worth the trip. If you love BBQ, you have to stop here!

Sides we picked were the Cole slaw and it was a little tasteless, but ingredient was fresh. Owner/pitmaster was friendly and checked in and seemed genuinely nice. Portions are ok but not overly generous for the price, everything felt fresh and made with care. Not the flashiest place, but the food delivers and it has that authentic small-town charm. Definitely coming back--recommend for anyone craving real-deal BBQ!"

She came across the reviews for The Bird Box. Conveniently, it was not far from the hotel we were staying in so we decided to give it a try. As we pulled up I was a little worried if I'm honest. There was no one there. Based on the reviews I expected the place to be hopping. We walked right up to the window and chatted with the owner (sorry, didn't catch his name) who was super friendly and personable. We placed our order and he went to work. I got the brisket and shrimp loaded fries and wanted to try some of the wings (I looove a good wing) so I ordered 6 of the honey garlic. My wife ordered the catfish nugget plate. The food was ready relatively quickly, probably because we were his only customers at the time. The catfish was really good! Best I ever had? No, but really close. I mean REALLY close. The hush puppies and fries were excellent as well. The wings were fantastic! Large, meaty, juicy wings that were well cooked but not over cooked, as chicken should be. The honey garlic sauce was probably some of the best I've had. The loaded fries? They were something else! Maybe fries loaded with tender, flavorful brisket and honey garlic shrimp is a normal thing where you're from. They definitely are not where I live. They were lightly seasoned with some ghost pepper seasoning that gave the perfect amount of heat as well. Casa Grande, y'all are sleeping on this food truck! There is absolutely no reason why there shouldn't be people lined up down the block.

Located in a lot with other trucks and a bar, it even had a clean restroom. Bird Box offered a variety of options; I chose the honey garlic wings, while my partner and father opted for the brisket, shrimp fries. The brisket was exceptionally tender and flavorful, and the greens were a delicious surprise. The portion sizes were perfect for the price. Thank you, Bird Box! We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Casa Grande.

Even several feet away, the smell of the burgers grilling is mouthwatering. This is not surprising once you learn that the owner of Yum Rockets is a Cordon Bleu graduate and has been a chef for 20 years. The concept is a modern take on Retro/Vintage Diners. Serving gourmet hamburgers, sandwiches, french fries, and more. It's a family-run business which is another nice perk. Of the various burgers on offer, the California Gold sounded the most enticing. A craft blend patty served with signature sauce (similar to Thousand Island), American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and bacon guacamole. Served on a brioche bun. Just one look and you know it will be delicious - and it was. Everything about it screamed fresh, high-quality ingredients, and expertly grilled. If they had a bricks-and-mortar restaurant, it would be your new destination for burgers (luckily, they offer catering, too!). We also ordered the Inferno Cluck which is their take on Nashville hot chicken, chipotle aioli, lettuce, tomato, pickle, jalapeno, crunchy onions on a 10-inch hoagie. Honestly, unless you were just starving, this is big enough to split with someone. It's a huge sandwich, all the more so with the generous side order of fries. I love spicy so I asked them to add their Raising Pain sauce. It does kick things up a notch and since it is served on the side, you should get it too. The chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned. I ended up abandoning the hoagie and just focusing on the generous portion of chicken. YUM! Several types of fries are on offer. The fries are SO crisp. These are exactly how you want fries to be served. I tried customizing mine to the ginger wasabi fries but they were sadly out. We ended up upgrading to the Yum Yum fries which are smothered with their house-made cheese sauce, chopped ground beef, diced tomatoes, diced onions, and gold sauce. Delicious but a meal unto itself. We also had the Arizona fries which are the spicy version with Chipotle aioli and jalapenos. Delicious but a meal alone. The website listed some yummy-sounding dessert options but they had been crossed off the sandwich board when we visited. Perhaps they only do dessert for catering events now. Although based in the San Tan Valley, Yum Rockets pops up around the Valley. You can find their upcoming schedule on their website. Truly one of the best out there!

My wife and I love to cook and have prepared some outstanding meals at home over our 40 years together. We have extensively traveled and lived throughout the world and as such developed pallets for superb cuisine from all over. As we grew older we gleaned the best of what we enjoy and developed them into our own cooking skills. My wife being Korean born refined her cooking skills in the eastern cuisine like Korean, Japanese, Thailand, and others while I have refined my skills with French and Italian. Prescott is a beautiful place to live but its culinary basis is built on sawdust. We usually cook for ourselves if we want a top notch meal. Now the past several years I have been confined to a wheelchair and transport is very limited. We used to spend winters in Hawaii where we could get great quality meals and seafood whether we prepared them or went out. So our 40th! I wanted to do something special for my wife since I have not been living up to my end of our culinary relationship being confined to a wheelchair. Thus I started seeking out a Chef that would come to our home with his staff and prepare a custom made meal for us. I selected Chef Thomas and Copper State Kitchen. I started by a rather lengthy discussion via phone and followed up with sending Chef Thomas some of our favorite recipes, sufficient for him to develop a five-course meal for us. Chef Thomas is very professional and easy to work with. We refined the meal over the next two days we agreed on the following proposed menu; I supplied the wines. Amuse-Bouche * Fig Jam, Blue Cheese, Red Wine Poached Pear & Arugula Crostini Starter * Prime Rib Poke with sesame crunch and microgreens and pipkuala aioli (based on my deconstruction of the infamous Tiki Bar in Waikiki dish) Pasta Course * Lobster Tagliatelle in a Champagne Cream Sauce Main Course * Beef Wellington with foie gras and red wine demi-glace Dessert * Crème Brûlée (torched table-side) Wine Pairings * Santa Margarita Prosecco DOCG * Domaine Salmon Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc * Tenuta de Sesta Brunello di Montalcino 1996 * Chateau Rieussec 1st Grand Cru Classe 1863 Sauternes 2004 Every course was perfect and very enjoyable. And they cleaned the kitchen meeting my wife's expectations. I highly recommend Copper State Kitchen for your personal culinary experience to celebrate your special occasions.
