She told me to try a bunch of things including acupuncture. I wasn't sure about it, so I tried everything else. 2 months later, I was still in some really bad pain. My jaw hurt during the day, it would ache, pound, disappear and then comeback. I thought I was good and I'd yawn or sneeze or say something and the pain would come back. Ice, heat, pain meds, muscle relaxants, TMJ intra-oral massage, Dr's, dentists. Nothing was helping. It would have some slight relief. I decided to look up acupuncture and give it a shot. Better than an oral surgeon which was my next stop. Thank goodness I did. Laying there for the first time, not knowing what to expect, you think all sorts of things. Is this going to work? Is it going to hurt? Is it really going to help at all? Vickie was very thorough, she went through everything with me. Told me what to expect and then once all the needles were in (painless by the way) she left me there with my own thoughts. At the time you're thinking, did I just sign up for a pincushion job? ? I'd feel a little silly if I did. Let me tell you something, I could feel some pain in my jaw at the time the needles were in, very dull, but could feel something. (Not surprising as it always hurts) Even on the opposite side though, that I wasn't really having issues with. That night and the following night, I noticed some slight jaw pain. However, the next morning, sitting on my couch, my lightbulb went off. I was pain free. WHAT? I wiggled my jaw left then right, forward then back, no pain. GONE! Shocked. I couldn't believe it. Did this really just work? I'm a week in and I feel like a new person. Vickie is so nice, caring, and I swear you can feel the healing process emitting from her. She has healing hands. I just finished up my second appointment and I cannot wait to see how I feel in a few days. I just know that I'm going to feel brand new! Honestly, this might sound like a cliché but she is a miracle worker! This feels like nothing short of a miracle for me. I have lived with pain on and off. I'm still amazed and beside myself how well this worked. I know Vickie was very cautious when telling me how I'd feel or how long it would take to even feel any results, with my luck, I was thinking at least 3 or 4 visits, so I was thrilled when it felt better after my first appointment. Shocked, happy, amazed. I cannot recommend Vickie enough. Not only is she amazing but her work is speaking for itself. She is a true healer! BTW: She has a very successful, busy business so I'm sure trying to get all the information she needs AND find a time that works for the patient and her at the same time isn't an easy feat. She was anything BUT condescending. Especially, since I had to reschedule a few times and even forgot an appointment! YIKES. I'm a hot mess. (She was so great to work with through all of my issues.) You know what they say, you can't make everyone happy. Give her a chance, you'll be glad you did!

I was doubtful as I am elderly and have a very complex medical history. However, I was getting worse and more dependent on pain pills so I decided to give it a try. The clinic was clean, calming, and very relaxing. Yesika thoroughly went through my medical history, asking and answering questions, and explaining everything. I saw an improvement after my first treatment, but I didn't want to credit acupuncture till I was sure. I have had 10 treatments so far and it's amazing how I have been able to replace prescription pain pills with Tylenol. I feel way more relaxed and overall much better. I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline.
