If you have back issues you seriously need to start your Yoga journey and this place is where to start. Lisa the owner is an amazing teacher and such a kind soul. All of the instructors have been fantastic and care deeply about what they do. Karma offers a variety of classes, both heated and air conditioned. In the past year I've tried just about every type of class they offer and I've found what works for me. From relaxing and meditative, to high intensity, they have a class for you. They have 2 class studios. The larger room is mostly used for heated classes. It's a large space with 2 mirrored walls which is great for self corrections and being able to see the instructor no matter where you are in the room. I've never felt cramped in the large room, it's so big!! The 2nd room is much smaller and is air conditioned. This room can get a bit crowded at times but usually it's plenty of space. They have yoga mats you can use if you need, plus all the props you could possibly want or need during your practice. They also sell some really nice yoga mats and athletic clothes in the main entrance area. The only thing I would change if I could is I wish the men's shower/locker room was a bit less cramped. Not much they can do about this though due to the location. Really only 3 people can be in the men's room at a time due to the size of the space. There are 2 showers and some small cubicles for storing your bag and one chair. I cannot comment on the woman room area, but I believe it's a bit larger. Bottom line: If you are looking for a place to try yoga or a seasoned "Yogie" give this place a try!

Not bad considering if I didn't like it, I only spent $20! (One class I believe is $13 or so). I was able to register for class online. On their website, they list all of the classes that are available and you are able to register for all of them online. Their classes range from 5:45 in the morning until 6:15 in the evening. There are many options for everyone. They also offer many different types of classes and when I went this morning, there were two going on at the same time. So, you have options, which is a plus! When you first walk in here, it is nice and spacious. You can see where you can put your shoes otherwise, there is a bathroom with cubbies where you can also put your things. They have yoga stuff on one of the walls that you can purchase. It is very clean and really, it's a calming atmosphere. The ladies that checked me in are super nice too. They made me feel really welcome even though I haven't done yoga in probably 2 years. The hot yoga class that I signed up for is pretty similar to others I have tried. The people in the class with me varied in skill and ability, which was nice. I didn't feel so bad. The instructor was also very helpful and made it possible for us to get what we needed out of the class. Another positive about Karma Yoga is that the hot yoga room, when you first walk in, smells like lavender! It took me by surprise since many hot yoga rooms do not smell particularly good at all! Right away, you are put into a calm mood. In all, I really loved my experience today and I honestly feel that I will extend my membership to longer than two weeks once my two weeks are up!

Just in case you haven't had the opportunity to try it yet be sure to always stay hydrated and had enough food to eat prior to your workouts and throughout the week. I learned this the hard way. Also, if you do try it be sure to keep the temp around 125 when you first start out and of course go easy on yourself, your body needs to get acclimated to the heat and working out in it. Take your time and feel the warrior within emerge! What I love about this location at Shadow Lake is how large it is compared to the one I've been to at Midtown. There are a pretty decent amount of saunas with dedicated saunas for certain 30 minute workouts which make it nice when scheduling them. I also like that the FX zone is a pretty expansive area as well which include battle ropes too! I just stopped by this morning for a Hot Blast workout and saw that the vending machine and filtered water dispenser were recently installed! Nice!! What's also really great is you can purchase protein bars, drinks, liquid IV powders, energy powders, workout bands and gloves right from the vending machine if you attend during non-staffed hours. They give you a code to pop in when you'd like to go at a different time and they have special necklaces with buttons you press if you happen to need help and no one's there. I also love the manager Brian here, he's super friendly and helped me set up my new membership when they were offering founding memberships. I went to check out Bhadra Yoga this afternoon with my sister. When I walked in I was met by a woman (unknown if she was the owner or staff) who was playing a guitar. When I told her we were interested in learning yoga, she responded in a demeaning voice tone, "the door was suppose to be locked". I never realized for a business you had to knocked before entering, and there was no sign to indicate this. When I asked about information, she responded again in a demeaning and sarcastic voice tone and laughed, "we don't do brochure everything is on the website". Note: Not everyone has a computer, and yes businesses do give out information on paper. When I asked if classes where done in groups, she became hysterical (indicated by her high voice tone and rapid speech), and started to go and on about Covid-19. Outcome: I will not be going here for yoga I will be letting my friends know not to patronize this business. And I highly recommend others do not attend yoga here. The owner/or staff who instead of inviting business in made a choice to demeaned and ridiculed potential customers. This was truly a good example of white privilege. I only wish I pulled my camera out to record her treatment.
