Very friendly and helpful with the issue I had with the bike I was trying to get repaired.

Specifically for maintenance and repair matters: Magnificent in every respect. You get prompt, professional attention, just the right questions, and first-class work. Scott is a craftsman and explains things very clearly. I've ridden my bike for 35 years. It needed major work. They cautioned me very carefully the work would cost more than the bike was actually worth, and took great pains to ensure that that I wanted to proceed anyway. Later, Scott phoned me again personally about this. They were happy to proceed, but were very careful to have my well informed consent first. Other customers had vastly finer bikes than I have, but in no way was I treated as a lower-priority customer. It was a big job and it was done promptly and superbly. They sell some good bikes here. Salsas are great bikes. The service wasn't unfriendly, but they weren't trying too hard either, you still get an air of bike shop "would rather be riding" aloofness from certain employees, though there is one employee that I didn't catch the name of who was quite helpful. They have the basic gear you'll need and do carry some touring frames which is cool. read more

Expert staff, fabulous service, and locally owned. I walked in needing a front brake and derailleur adjustment before leaving for vacation where I'll be doing a lot of riding. I expected to leave the bike and come back in a few days because the shop is so popular. A mechanic walked right up, we had a short conversation about the work I needed, and he offered to put it on the stand and fix it immediately. 10 minutes later my bike was adjusted and I was out the door. This place is fantastic. I came here after a friend recommended it. I was a bit hesitant, since bicycles are expensive and a 20% members-coupon at REI was calling my name, but I decided to give them a shot. I am so glad I did. I haven't ridden a bike in years but was looking to get back into it as the warm weather months approached. The staff was very helpful in discussing the types of bicycles that might meet my needs (hybrid v. mountain v. road). They were also up front about the price of the bicycles, and included that in part of the discussion. I found that sort of frankness refreshing, particularly because it is such a large purchase. They offered to let me test ride a few models in the parking lot without pressure, making clear that they just wanted me to understand what each bike was about. In the end I bought a bike and a bunch of gear (which they also helped me pick out without being pushy in the slightest). For those who know little about bikes, this is the place to get started. (And for those of you who know an extraordinary amount about biking, this is probably also the place to go; they know their stuff). read more

Had a very positive experience here. A company sent a seat post that was too long for the frame and offered to pay for repairs at a bike store. I don't know anything about bikes, but the gentleman that helped me here was incredibly kind, skilled, and helpful. They resized the seat and only charged $10. They also helped me adjust a few other things on the bike and added air to my tires. Overall really a great place I would highly recommend it read more

The store itself looks like a typical bike store with a selection of bikes, clothing, and accessories in stock up front and a service area in the back. Plenty of parking available, too. They were quite helpful in listening to my needs, letting me test drive some options, and helping me figure out the best bike and accessories are for me. I have been going to Blue Wheel since they were on Elliewood. This is a great bicycle shop. They have never steered me wrong. Today I came in with what I thought was a big problem with my bike. They could have told me anything and I would have believed them. At the very least I thought I'd have to leave my bike for days. Paul fixed it in five minutes for free. These guys are great. I came in with a broken bike pump and and when they couldn't fix the pump (Wrench Force) because it had been discontinued, they called the Trek distributor. Come to find out the pump has a LIFETIME WARRANTY and I walked out of the store with a brand new Bontrager Charger pump for FREE ($36.99 value)! The store is very clean, has a decent inventory and the staff is laid back and knowledgeable. The location is a little "off of the beaten path" but I will definitely go back the next time I need parts or service for my Trek mountain bike. read more
