I am an avid estate sale shopper and I always keep my eye on Blue Water Estate Sales because I know that their events are going to have the highest quality items, beautifully curated collections, and the nicest staff. You won't find random piles of junk and dusty, dirty things and just chaos like you will at some of the other estate sales. Their pricing is absolutely fair and they will negotiate as the sale gets closer to the end date per usual. The first day of the sale is not the time to get deeper discounts, which is which is completely reasonable given how high-quality their items are. OMG. I just happened upon this sale in Solana Beach. I can't enough about all the workers and especially Joanie. She cousin have been nicer with all the activity she never most her cool. She worked with precision and professionalism. They were setting up this huge sale and attending to it for over a week and Joanie was a kind as she could have been. If you are looking for estate sales that do not disappoint I highly recommend attending a Blue Waters sale. I have found so many treasures over the years including furniture (from Danish teak to boho to traditional), original oil paintings, beautiful textiles from around the world, Italian pottery and ceramics (ranging from Bitossi to Cantagalli), Scandinavian enamelware (think CatherinHolm, Finel, etc.), glassware and crystal from brands like Baccarat to Kosta Boda. Then there are the practical items that I've picked up for a song: taper candles, high quality serving utensils (this really came in handy when I ditched ALL of my black plastic spatulas), pots and pans, PLANTS!, and so much more. The staff is lovely and will do what they can to help you out. If you go often enough they start to recognize you. :) Attending a Blue Waters Sale is a great way to spend a weekend morning! read more

Not a good experience with Blue Waters Estate Sales. Very dishonest seller, after having paid for a few items, she walked by and notice a few items and told me that it was the wrong price and took them away from us, unless we wanted to paid the difference. She said that someone must has chance the price, even though it was her own price tags. She went ahead an told us that she always goes back and raise the prices. A bait and switch business. In some pictures, you can see the pricing, but at the sale, the price has increased tremendously. We were interested in one floor lamp priced at $70, on the day of the sale it was $270. Catherine is a loose cannon. After attending her sales for a few years, it's an obvious she is a total scatter brain and knows very little about art, antiques, and vintage, relying on inaccurate Google lens results for her pricing. Her sales are consistently in a state of disarray with a majority of items unpriced. Her explanation? She is researching....so she prices items randomly off the top of her head, often times forgetting what price she previously quoted. I have contacted he by phone or text asking prices on items shown in her ads....then when I arrive to buy, the prices always are higher than what was quoted...and she blames her clients? CLASSIC bait and switch. Because her lack of knowledge in actually buying and selling her OWN inventory of art and antiques, she relies on unscrupulous local dealers like John Falk, Ian, Nam Nguyen, Keith York, Daniell and a host of others who have wormed their way into favor with her by feeding her with potential estate sales leads as well as giving them pre-sale buying opportunity in exchange for knowledge. So, those that attend her sales on the advertised dates of the sale in good faith are actually shopping picked-over leftovers. Catherine and her team exceeded my expectation for organizing and managing an estate sale for my mother's home in RSF, CA in December 2025. Her extensive network ensured we had lines every morning and her clients were so wonderful that it eased the heart ache letting go of my mom's cherished art and jewelry listening to how much the person loved the piece they were buying. After spending three days at the sale, which was not required but I chose to, I also appreciated that it was mainly people buying for themselves and not resellers on Catherine's network. Many of the people shared images with Catherine of my mom's art now in their home for many more years to enjoy. What could have been chaos was extremely well run and I was so impressed by the none stop attention by her team to ensure every area of the house looked it best and all the items were displayed well. This review is based on an experience I had with Blue Waters July 2024, I just never got around to posting but it's been bothering me ever since. This is what happened: I had intended to purchase 2 Halcyon Days Bracelets at $50 each which was a bit more then wanted to spend even though I knew the prices were reasonable based on a google search. They were both there when I left Saturday afternoon as they were closing. Knowing that all merchandise was to be 50% off the next day (Sunday, the final day of the estate sale) I was first in the door that morning. The bracelets were gone. I reached out to the owner who informed me that one of her staff supposedly purchased them before the doors opened Sunday morning. I was not happy that Staff was allowed to purchase items before the Estate Sale opened to the pubic. It seems unfair that they should get priority over customers. Why advertise and show items as available if staff is allowed to purchase before the public? So, I would think twice before hiring Blue Waters Relocation and Estate Sales. read more

Catherine Waters, owner of BLUEWATERS, was EXCELLENT when she did an Estate Sale from our Del Mar Highlands Home in January 2025. After revewing our belongings (furniture, artwork, collectables, housewares and clothes), she suggested the best approach and we signed an estate sale contract and scheduled a proposed week for the sale. In a single week, she and a small army of helpers, pulled out all the items from drawers and closets, priced them, advertized the sale and sold most items at decent prices in 3 or 4 days of selling. Remaining items were disposed of (donations and haul away) promptly to leave a clean sellable house. BLUEWATERS commission was certainly worthwhile... Un organized. Uses Google lens to price everting as your cashing out. Think's everyone is stealing things. Charged me two different prices for the same items ( bought four came back 10 min later with four more) she upped the price, I pointed this out and she said " I know". Over priced first day to the last. Staff is not empowered to make pricing decisions, so you have to find her get a price, stand in line for 30 min and hope she remembers the price she told you earlier. I choose not to attend any more based on my experiences. read more

Super expensive and rude staff. My wife brought a lamp up to the front to buy with a price on it and they said, "oh, we are repricing that". So they marked it up right in front of her! The price of the lamp was $220 and had been there the previous 3 days of sale for the same price. I have never seen that before and was actually kind of in shock. I normally don't leave Yelp reviews but felt the need to this time. At the sale I attended, the company appeared to be very unorganized, overpriced and were not honest about their pricing. I saw staff constantly having to go put stuff back that people at the checkout decided against, and when it was my turn at checkout I found out why. They like to make up prices as they go along, even if the tags and signs say otherwise. The bookshelf had a set list of prices for books but when I went to checkout they opened every book and decided that 2 of them were now $15 each, instead of $2. I had a box marked $5 and they told me it was now $20 because they "didn't know it had stuff in it" and proceeded to argue with me saying they would have to take the very delicate 50-60 year old samples that were imbedded in the box in wax out of it which would have destroyed them. I told them it was marked $5 so I'm paying $5. Suggestion, maybe look inside things before you price it. It's not my fault you didn't do that, and you should honor the prices you have displayed. After arguing with 2 of the staff I finally got that one item for the $5 price. Another item had one sticker with a faint 20 and a much darker large 5 written over it, so of course they wanted the higher amount. I had a couple little tiny figurines and a small plastic plate that they decided at checkout they wanted $5 each for them, which upon getting home and looking them up is way more than they're going for on Ebay. Staff was rude and they are dishonest with their pricing. I'll be avoiding any estate sales ran by this company. read more

I have been to several of Blue Waters Estates Sales which are well run w/quality items which always draws a crowd. I went to the recent one in La Jolla which was no exception. I was there first thing and there was quite a crowd. The sale was in a small apartment and given the space and the amount of people, the staff worked very hard to keep things under control.
