I would not recommend blue water movers at all. When my husband asked them to take a 150 year old standing mirror apart they had an attitude. They said "We don't have time for this fling shit" They kept a rubber washer that goes to the mirror. They didn't have enough blankets and were going to strap furniture and mirrors without protecting them. We also paid for them to go eat and talk and look around for at least ha.f hour. Blue Water Movers came to our rescue!! They were fantastic!! I called them with a last minute request to move my client who had trouble even finding moving trucks, she need to move within 2 days as she sold her home and needed to give keys right away. I called 6 other well known moving companies who belabored the quote with all these petty changes, and when i called Mathew the owner he was straight forward, explained the hourly rate, how he pays his staff well so they care about doing a good job. Issac and Devon were the guys who showed up, very polite and carefully wrapped everything and moved my clients furniture including breakables with the utmost care!! I will be using them for every client that I help buy or sell a home for. As a realtor I have used over 100 moving companies and Blue Water Movers have been the best I have ever seen. NIGHTMARE BLUE WATER MOVERS. The movers took 1 1/2 breaks, during a 3 hour move, was late, got lost, and charged me for every minute. Horrible job. Owner is rude. Workers tried to get extra cash to put beds together even though it was added in quote. Rude to my husband (a disabled veteran) when he requested that they complete the job originally requested. Also ignored requests to only take furniture. What a fantastic experience we had with Blue Water Movers! I received a call from my aging mother in Alabama asking to be moved to South Carolina (about an 8-hour drive away). For a normal move request, this wouldn't be that big of a deal if it were local but I live in Canada now. I initially thought my mom was just lonely and wanted to move closer to family as we have NO family in Alabama. After several phone calls, I realized she was deftly serious and wanted to move immediately. So what in the world do I do now, I thought! It's Mom, I have to do something! I have zero friends/family in Alabama and the closest family member lives in South Carolina. I called Blue Water Movers, who are my new superheroes. I explained my situation and fabricated a plan which of course changed several times before the final master plan. They were extremely responsive, kept in constant communication, and literally pulled off a herculean effort to provide my mom with the move she requested. I cannot express enough gratitude for their professionalism, expertise, communication, and humanity. We flew down to Alabama several days before the move date to make sure everything was ready. It wasn't of course. We had a short window and had to change our return flights. We had to put in some overtime to make it all work to meet the move date. My wife and I never saw the actual moving team. We left a lockbox on the door, took pictures of what needed to be moved, and drove Mom to South Carolina to get her acclimated to her new surroundings. The movers arrived when they said they would, loaded up, and headed to South Carolina. We were on our way back to Canada by the time they arrived in South Carolina. Let me tell you, my Mom is still raving about how professional and polite they were to her. I emphatically recommend this company to anyone moving their most precious loved ones. Many scratches, dings, chips in furniture, walls and wood floors from Blue Water Mover employees that were not very careful. Glass was broken on antique display cabinet- owner promised to "take care of it", now we can't even get a response to calls or texts. Quoted one price on phone when booked the job and charged more per hour when they finished the job. Very disappointed! read more

I'm rating BWM one star only because I cannot give it a lower rating. I have so many complaints, but I'll keep this brief. First, the team, after a litany of excuses that may or may not have been legitimate, showed up nearly 4 hours later than the agreed upon time. The amount was quoted was less than half of what I was charged. I was told a two man team was coming out, but they sent three and charged me for the extra person, as if I had somehow required or requested this (I hadn't). My original quote was for two hours, three at the most. Somehow, despite sending (and charging me for) a third person, my move took over 5 hours. The team, after a litany of excuses that may or may not have been legitimate, showed up nearly 4 hours later than the agreed upon time. After truck trouble (which again, may have been legitimate), I was told I either needed to delay my move by two days or rent a truck myself and they would use that. While I was reimbursed for the cost of the truck rental, in my opinion, the company did nothing to compensate me for the extreme delay or inconvenience of having to go out and procure the truck myself. I am still baffled that a moving company did not have another truck to use? Overall, considering the huge amount of things that went wrong, I felt that it was handled badly. I had a really negative experience with this company, The owner did nothing to acknowledge or compensate for that. Even if nothing had gone wrong at all, the huge difference between my quoted price and time of completion was enough to never want to use this company again. Don't be fooled by a quote that's better than the competition; you'll end up paying more than the competitors and getting worse service for it. read more

I would give them ZERO stars if I could. These people are by far the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with!! My father died on December 14th and with his home about to be foreclosed on and padlocked at any time I was left with the task of moving his stuff out of his house. On December 28th I spoke to Matt, the owner of the company, to get a quote and schedule a day and time for them to come out. We scheduled it for Friday 1/1/21 at 9am, but due to a chronic illness I have and not being able to get any help packing, I needed to reschedule it to Saturday. Matt told me that "Saturday would work and they'd be there between noon and 2pm." Long story short, they never showed up on Saturday because they had overbooked themselves and asked to reschedule it for Sunday. After having already waited around all day, I rearranged my schedule, said ok and agreed to meet them at the house between 9-9:30am. This morning (Sunday) they had another issue that made it so they didn't show up and when I called the owner, around 11:30, to find out what was going on, he told me he had given the crew the wrong address and they'd be there in about an hour. I asked if he would be willing to offer a discount since they hadn't shown up on Saturday and were already 3 hours late today and the owner flipped out and started yelling at me telling me that that this was all my fault since I had rescheduled it from Friday. He then went on to say he was not going to give me any discount and that if i wanted the job done I would pay full price and if i didn't like it I could go elsewhere. I responded by saying wow that's very unprofessional at which time he hung up on me A few minutes later he started texting me, harassing me and complaining that he had been sick for the past 3 days and was arranging all this from home. I told him I was very sorry that he was sick but that that should not be made to be MY problem as I am a paying customer, especially since he was not even with the crew that was coming to do the move and because he was the one who overbooked his crew so they did not show up on Saturday as scheduled. He then told me he was sending the crew home and good luck trying to find someone else! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS COMPANY!!! If this is how they treat someone who's father just died, imagine how you will be treated in your time of need. They are only $40 cheaper than other local companies, so save yourself the hassle and call some REAL professionals!!! UPDATE after this happened the owner began to harass me via text message and I had to contact the police to file a harassment complaint. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! read more

I have nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about Blue Water Movers! I moved 3 times in a matter of 1 year...during the most stressful and trying time in my life, Blue Water Movers were my saving grace!! They are (&always have been) a team of HARDWORKING, courteous and respectful, dependable professionals. I was able to schedule my moves promptly- despite the move itself being on a whim. The owner Matt and his guys, moved everything but the kitchen sink ;) up and down narrow basement stairs- I'm talking heavy awkward furniture sets, washer/dryer, king sized bed, ETC. and despite all of this, my furniture was NEVER compromised- NEVER a mark or scratch. The guys were so careful with my things, treating them like they were their own. Impressive how considerate they were of my home as well, BOTH the home I was leaving, and the home I was moving to and I think that's notable.
