Crossing the bridge to and from Sarnia
    Karol K.

It's a epic experience crossing the bridge. A wonderful view of both Sarnia and POHO. Traffic fluctuates but that's to be expected when traveling especially into another country.

Crossing the bridge was easy peasy. Customs were short and sweet with questions. The bridge itself is shorter than what I'm use to compared to some of the "popular" bridges in California. Traffic will probably depend on day and time of the week. I crossed on an early summer Saturday morning and waited about 15 minutes. Luckily that day the fluffy blue skies made for an extra enjoyable crossing.

Ah my new home town. We come to this area frequently all year long, its truly peaceful. We come during summer for the float down, sailboat races and just to relax, also love it during winter with giant ice pieces. Its scenic. Plenty of places to sit and just be.

Very beautiful scenery while crossing, but very unpredictable time to clear customs. You never know if there will be a sudden delay or if like happened to us today, no traffic at all. Very weird.

Canadian Coast guard Ship, part of the ice breaker fleet, docked for some minor repairs and a quick paint job.

If you are bored and looking for something to do in Sarnia, head down to the Bluewater bridge, there is a spectacular, breathtaking view that is second to none. Where else can you see a huge billion dollar freighter pass beside a tiny fisherman's li'l motor boat, with helicopters flying overhead, and huge boats that you won't believe, it's not surprising there is a slew of food trucks to chooses from which are all pretty good but a bit expensive, right Down the street is a li'l place called Albert's that serves pub like food and ice cream for those days where the mercury can rise over 100°F by noon. Bring the kids to play one of several parks, feed the fish at the indoor/outdoor fish farm, or just go find the petting zoo. There is absolutely something for Everyone here and no matter if you live here or just visiting, you will always happily find so. E thing new to do each visit, I recommend Bluewater Bridge to EVERYONE!!

Approaching the toll booth on the U.S side prior to crossing into Canada. WHOA. NO line up!?!!!!

I prefer crossing this bridge to and from the US. It's less busy than Windsor, and the route to Chicago is easier and slightly faster.

Of course it depends on where you're headed, but if you're able to I would do Sarnia over Windsor all day long.

The currency exchange was handled by a bank, but that service is no longer available. Accessible from the Blue Water Bridge and from surface streets as well, they have a large parking lot which is able to accommodate cars, buses, RVs and big-rigs. Trucks have to work their way back, because the exit from Customs places them directly onto Highway 402. Their building and landscaping outside are very well done. Enter through the main doors: inside, the rest rooms are straight ahead, there is a spacious room to the left which has all of the travel information. It has always been a pleasure to visit here. There are brochures and maps for all of Ontario, as well as a small selection of souvenirs. If there is a tourist attraction or festival somewhere in Ontario, you can expect to find their brochure here. The gals working the information counter are well-versed in providing help. When I mentioned an attraction that I had recently seen advertised along the highway, my assistant seemed perplexed, especially when she couldn't find it in Google. Come to find out, it wasn't so much of a tourist attraction as it was a local business with a sign by the highway. Free Wi-Fi.

I felt like I was sitting right there in that beauty shoppe and was part of the conversation, giggles and sorrow this play brought to the audience. It is not assigned seating so please make sure to get there in plenty of time - but if you do not - no worries, not a bad seat exists in this house. $15 is a steal. There are plenty of eateries around the area to support a meal before and a drink after. Parking is a bit difficult as the theater does not support their own parking lot. City parking is available a short distance from the facility or you might be lucky enough to snag a spot out front if you get there early enough. They do have a small concessions area as well.

It's a small theater so it makes for a very intimate experience. The cast is known to interact a bit with the audience and people come away enjoying themselves. I watched Fools yesterday and really enjoyed myself. It's great to support local business and at $15 a ticket pre pay, it is worth it. I like that you can bring your own beverages in if you choose or pick from snacks and some refreshments there. Seating is very limited, so buy in advance, but prepare for a fun evening when you do. Shout out to Noah and the rest of the cast of Fools, a play adapted by Neil Simon. I love silly humor, and this truly delivered. I also liked the raffle for opening weekend and getting a second chance by dressing for the theme. If you are in St. Clair County and want a break from the standard movie date night, come check this place out. Opens 1/2 hour before showtime and street parking is limited so get there early. And there are several nearby restaurants if you want a bite before or after a show.

The displays showcased styles ranging from modern to eclectic, making this collection truly sensational. I felt both impressed and overwhelmed, just like any little girl or grown woman would be with such important memorabilia. To my delight, my very first Barbie was included in this hidden gem of a collection! After this amazing experience, I ventured upstairs to the music room, where I admired the early instruments this town has preserved. It's fascinating to learn how these artifacts contributed to the town's history, alongside chicory--a coffee substitute--historically significant due to a shipwreck that involved 273 passengers. This wreck was attributed to a treacherous storm on the Great Lakes. Additionally, I've always wanted to know the names of the moving parts on Port Huron's Abt Bascule Bridge, and I was pleased to find those answers provided on a diagram. Unfortunately, I ran out of time in the music room and didn't get to finish my tour, but I am definitely planning to return for another lesson in this town's rich history!

The few scattered exhibits that were there included some local art and artifacts (notably an actual iron lung). A handful of brochures gave some information on the area, but it was not the most detailed or the most useful museum I've ever seen. There seemed to be some interesting artifacts in the boxes that were strewn around the basement, and perhaps the museum has better days ahead.

Admission…read moreis free to all as the vision of this place is to be a safe space for the community to connect, share stories, and discover new insights through art. So it won't cost you much to check it out! And if you would like to contribute, donations are welcome. Exhibitions seem to change every 1-4 months, so you could visit a few times a year and get new insights each time. There was an interesting selection of exhibits when I visited. When I was there, the exhibitions were about outsider art (art that may not be accepted by the art community as art, eg art that is compulsively produced, or art produced by cultural outsiders) and interactive art - in this case featuring a native Londoner (Ontario)) who mixes pop culture imagery, retro video games and audio into his art. The exhibitions challenged my thinking about art. I would love to come back again. While I didn't experience this, the website notes that there are family drop-ins every Sunday from 1-3pm which are free (with a suggested donation of $5/family)! Seems like a great way to introduce art to your family regardless of means. Staff were friendly! Counter staff took my backpack per their regulations (no charge for this). While exploring the exhibits, we also came across two volunteers who were able to point out some interesting points about the art, that we had not known or observed ourselves. This place is really making art available to the public. I will note that the staff didn't proactively offer the brochures available at the front desk, which were very helpful to navigate the exhibits. So, just make sure to pick them up before you enter the exhibits, and you could return them at the end to help this place save resources too! Unlike some other museums, this place was clean and not dusty feeling at all. It is also wheelchair accessible and claims on its website to allow items and service animals needed by visitors with disabilities!
