But you found out foundation work don't make a lot of money when work was in middle stage. You decided to quit. You took almost $40000. You and Carlos all disappear, no show up again. After I was begging you and told you me and willie will be fired because of this, you send two guys here everyday. These two guys know nothing only basic labor. I was asking you for Carlos, you said yes every time, but he never came. I give you my deadline of Inspection many times, you just don't care and continue fooling me. BEWARE! DO NOT USE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNLICENSED BUSINESS. The business owner, Morel, was referred to us by a friend. From the beginning, Morel assured us that he was licensed and said that he has been building pools for many years. He also said he has his own company and employees who will perform the work, and that he was bonded. He quoted us a price of licensed contractors. So, we proceeded with him and signed a contract. When the work started, we noticed various workers coming in and out. We asked him whether they were his employees, and he told us (for the first time) that they were third-party vendors that he uses. He did not tell us that he was going to be subcontracting the work out, and directly conflicted with what he told us he would do before we signed the contract. We asked him multiple times whether these contractors were licensed, AND HE SAID, YES (turns out they were not). Since they already started working on our pool, we took him at his word and did not argue with him about using subcontractors. After the workers finished the work, numerous problems arose. We raised the issues with Morel, but he just kept telling us that everything was fine, there was nothing wrong, basically implying that we were just being paranoid. We hired another company to check the work, which identified things that were improperly done and told us that the work could not have been performed by a licensed contractor. So, we checked the state licensing board website and found out that Morel's license was revoked in 2004. Even Morel's son, Thomas, confirmed that his father's license had been revoked and acknowledged the poor workmanship. Under state law, contractors need to be licensed to perform any repair or construction work on pools, and if they perform such work without a license the customer is entitled to recover any money that they paid. Moral's guy, Thomas, service my pool on monthly basis. Then my pump broke. Moral quotes me a really high price to change my pool pump, so I went with someone else to replace the pump. Later, this is the text he sent me "Your are a shady person you installed pump with out my knowledge". I didnt have any contract with him. I had no obligation to tell him or give him notice who I'm changing my pump with. He even called me names. Moral has bad temper when you disagree with him. So please be aware. read more

Pros - Morel was initially really responsive, offered a really competitive price, and was able to replace our pool heater and pool pump within days of first contact. After the issues related to the variable speed pump were resolved (see below), it has really saved us a lot of money over the years, and it is nice to have a heater that works! Despite the cons listed below, the pool pump and heater have worked well for us for the last 16 months, and we hope to get many years of use out of both. Now for the cons. Cons - a day or two after installation, I noticed the pool pump would not prime. I contacted Morel but he was not as responsive as he was before we started the project. After several follow-ups, he finally responded (after coming by our house) by telling me I simply had to increase the priming time. Even after following his directions, the pump continued to fail. Two nights after he advised me to increase the priming time, I finally noticed one of the new pipes was leaking. Morel kept promising to come over, but it took days (along with follow-up texts/calls) before he finally came to the house to remedy the issue. Finally, when we first discussed the project, we discussed the $200 rebate from Edison, and I told him the rebate for the pool pump appeared to require him to purchase the pump from one of Edison's approved vendors. It is unclear to me whether he did or not. Nevertheless, Morel repeatedly assured me we would receive the rebate, but we heard nothing for nearly two months (at which point we had received a rebate from the gas company for the heater). About three months after Morel finished our project, and after I heard nothing from Morel about the status of the rebate, I finally called Edison, which is when I was told the installer should have received the rebate at the time of purchase (had he purchased the pump from one of the approved vendors). I followed up with Morel to let him know of what Edison advised me, but he never responded. In the big scheme of things, not getting the Edison rebate was not a big deal as Morel's price was so reasonable anyway. What rubbed me the wrong way was that Morel became far more unresponsive after he had completed the project (and had been paid), even though I was experiencing some legitimate problems that should have been resolved in a reasonable amount of time, and I was asking looking for guidance regarding the priming failures and the Edison rebate. read more

I originally contacted Morel just to fix a leaky line, after getting amazing prices, and his people skills we decided to do a complete Pool renovation, it was as smooth as a project like mine could go, great communication, great job, we couldn't be any happier with our new pool. UPDATE: initially sooooo responsive. But now that we see the quality of his work, he no longer responds. Says he will get someone to come look at our pool pump that was replaced and it never happens. We had him fix cracks in our spa and we were assured that the repairs would match perfectly. It looks HORRIBLE, despite several attempts to fix it. Now wants to charge over $6k to re-do the entire spa. Big talker. No follow through. I have no idea if I will ever be able to use any kind of warranty on the variable speed pump that he installed. Biggest issue on the pool was a heater that was rarely used and became a haven for tree rats. Morel did a trouble shoot and determined repair would be a money pit since the rats ate the wiring. Never charged for his time diagnosing and getting parts. Installed a Pentair 300 BTU that came with a $300 rebate from the gas company. Clean Install Also fixed my pool filter which was spitting debris back into the pool, the pool is now pristine for the first time in years. This guy can fix anything re a pool, reasonable price, pride in workmanship and will not walk away until everything is perfect. PS, he was the first to respond on my request for quote on yelp and was spot on accurate on prices. read more

This is a ZERO STAR rating... I Hired Morel owner of Blue Vistage Pools on July 24 2018 to Drain Remove existing glass tile and replace with porcelain tile per his recommendation as the glass tile is beautiful but breaks with movement. I replaced my entire tile (which I should have just replaced the broken ones). He also recommended to redo my Deck O seal so that future cracks don't happen and an acid wash (which I did), he appeared to be a very honest man and also made comments about how my current pool guy is neglecting the pool and they offer that service too,. He pointed out the calcium build up around the jacuzzi waterfalls. I ended using him for service for both my rental properties, less than 8 months end of Feb 27 2019 both my tenants complained about the pool guy and wanted the old pool guy, thank God he took me back. I did a walk through with the old pool guy and noticed that there was calcium build up again and the acid was work he did showed discoloration in my pool, I contacted Morel to have him fix the discoloration and redo the acid wash...he never showed up, I chalked that up. However August 2019 still less than a year the pool tiles he installed started falling, he said his first available appoint to come and fix is January 14, 2020??? I have to wait 5 months for him to come and repair, Tuesday the 7th I texted him to confirm the 14th, never heard from him, Sent another text on Friday the Feb 10, 2020 to confirm...he responded I am very sick, I asked him if he can send someone else or if I should hire someone and bill him, he responded I will fix....I asked him to give me a date so I can put on my calendar...no response, today 1/13/20 I texted him please give me a date to fix...still NO RESPONSE. I paid close to 6,000.00 for defective work!!! Don't recommend this man and do not call him or use him. I would like to see if he responds to this YELP as I have all the text information saved. (Irvine - Please read this review before consideration, as I found him on Yelp) We have hired this company 2x, the first time we hired him to clean our fountain and our pumps we had no problem, a little on the expensive side but ok. The second time he came out, we hired him to do the same job, but this time while cleaning our water features, he broke our fountains and never came back to fix them. It has been over a month since we saw our fountains working; they were working when they arrived and are no longer working. The owner took no responsibility for his crew that broke our pumps or even taking the initiative to fix them after the broke; he wanted to charge us again, to come and fix a problem he created. I had no problem paying for the pumps as a compromise, but to charge me an additional service charge of $150x3 for each pump to install, is ridiculous. I get the feeling this gentleman likes to overcharge people like myself because he sees we live in a nice house, it's his way robbing people like myself, of our hard-earned money. He charged me a total of $1200 to clean my fountains, which he broke. He now wants to charge me to fix them, now I need to go hire someone else to fix his mistake. That's not fair. It pains me to write this review for a small business owner that I know relies on reviews to generate business. But I have no other way of dealing with a business transaction that has gone sideways with this business. I do not think this man is honest and more importantly, he lacks the values in providing a fair day's worth of work to people like myself. He assumes we just will keep opening our checkbooks. We recently moved to our home discovered there was a huge problem with our hot tub, the water kept disappearing (really bad leak), plus there was a pole sticking up from the center which no longer served it's purpose since the termites had eaten the wood pole inside of it years ago. Morel did a great job with my pool. His guy acid washed my pool and cleaned the white residue off the rock, and refinished the slide. The pool looks amazing! We have an in-ground spa which had excess air entering back into the spa through the return jets and needed repair in a hurry as loud noises gave us the indication that something was wrong. I don't normally write reviews but it was so hard to get someone to come out and look at our pool for service. We bought our home 2 years ago and the company we were using was a referral. They came when they wanted, they left stuff behind, their communication on repairs was awful and the last couple months my pool was looking foggy and algae.
