Good stuff but she's unfriendly, humorless, chilly and aloof. Not inspired to go back.

I loved this store....until today. I go here all the time and love shopping to donate to a good…read moremission. Today I witness an employee on their day off come and was given all of the good merchandise to buy thay never came out on the floor. Her cart was full of brand new sneakers, luxury goods and I knew the shoes never his the floor since they were still bundled together in a rubber bands. She chatted with the other employees about the next shift she was working and clearly works here. Now it's not a surprise I can rarely find any good treasures in the rough. Do better.

Lately it's been redone to try for a boutique-like look, with attractive artwork and tasteful table settings. Perhaps because the selections are so broken up it's now difficult to recreate that 'hunting' shopping talent my grandmother taught me. We could find a couture item in a 1000 foot rack of rags, which this store supplies in surplus. Hubs has found a professional grade coffee pot and a new food saver vacuum device there, and it has a large selection of t-shirts, cd's, books, bread makers and high heel shoes, which probably caused many donors great pain. With some fresh inspiration from Netflick's Grace and Frankie, I wanted artsy fartsy, colorful and baggy. Today I found a Rivamonti Saks Fifth Avenue crochet vest, an earthy Coldwater Creek sweater, a very unusual blouse embroidered with small black and silver sequins, a tapestry sweater/jacket with wood and horn buttons, a spotless white cotton Jones NY tunic, and an unopened board game. Plus, it was half price day on all items except white tickets. Bingo! There was much confusion about which person was entitled to their break at the check-out line, which involved my cashier making several trips back and forth to talk with the manager, along with another trip to find out how to code the game. Luckily there was a comfortable couch to sit on while these issues were ironed out, and as it was a humid day it was a relief to relax in the air conditioning. The Salvation Army can be a nice experience if you shop with the right attitude - remembering that it is what it is, and you get what you get so don't get too upset.

We visited here for the first time (incredibly) and so enjoyed our time here. The owner explained…read morethat her dad had a vision 33 years ago to fill this space with lots of vendors selling their wares. She said there are still a few of the original vendors there and there is a 5 year wait list for new ones! You walk through the spaces filled with all kinds of unique items and bring it up to the front to pay for it. Cash or check accepted. You can easily get lost in this space for hours! We picked up some German beer steins, some egg coddlers, a book and a few other odds and ends, all at reasonable prices. Yes, some things seemed overpriced but most were fair. There is a restroom and parking lot. It's a fun way to spend a few hours.

It makes for a nice date to grab a coffee then spend a few hours browsing. The staff are always super friendly and very helpful. There is a lot of great stuff in here but unfortunately the vast majority or sellers are charging way way too much. Some sellers are reasonable but most seem to be price gouging. I mean we are talking like $900 for a rocking chair that is broken as an example. If folks were willing to pay these prices they would just buy new. I have managed to find some reasonably priced items of clothing and furniture, but often found that if I found something I kind of liked, I never liked it enough to pay the asking price. It's clear that others feel the same as many of the booths had all of the same exact items they had 3 months ago. Most need to bring their prices down by 30-50% tbh. I have enjoyed window shopping here but probably will go elsewhere from here on out.
