Went to Blue Tit as it is quite close to my house and it had been recommended to me. Unfortunately. I was quite disappointed with the service as a whole. I had a wash, cut and blow dry. The cut took all of about fifteen minutes, and ended up being quite choppy. I asked for my hair to be blow dried wavy. Dario have it a rough blow dry and curled it with curling irons, looking at around at what else was going on most of the time. My hair was left flat with way too much product on the roots, and either side looking quite different. In addition, when I booked it, the receptionist was quite short and rude. So for £59, I wouldn't recommended going to this salon. read more

Not usually one for posting negative feedback on a social platform, but Facebook asked me to review 'Blue Tit London' as I had checked in there before, and in all honesty I really dont want anyone to go into one of these salons not knowing what they are capable of. So here we go! In one word, this brand of salon destroyed my hair. I started to have my hair done at this salon in June 2016, and was having my natural fair hair bleached and toned grey. I initially had this done at Blue Tit in Brixton, and when I had some work over in Peckham, I moved over there for a few months. Im not looking to tarnish any one particular stylists name, so won't be posting about individuals, however my experience with the Customer SERVICE (weird that they call themselves that when they offer no such thing....) is more my gripe. About 1/3 of my hair was burnt off by a stylist. Before I visited Blue Tit my hair was healthy and I had no breakage (save from the usual amount normal people have), and I have ended up with this. You can see from the growth of my natural hair colour that this is pretty catastrophic, and this has a fair few months of regrowth. It means that I cant put my hair up as i have fly aways everywhere. When i wear my hair down it looks straggly and uneven. So for months I have been and will continue to have to have a mess of a head of hair. I have no idea when the actual damage took place, as in I dont know which session of the 10 or so that I had royally f**ked up, however I know that with 100% certainty that it happened at these salons, and from speaking to Bleach London who very kindly gave me a consultation on how to fix this mess, I know that this is either from the peroxide content being too high, or for the bleach being left on far too long. The stylist that I saw at the Peckham branch blamed the Stylist that I saw at the Brixton branch....but I'm not sure who is to blame. After letting the Customer 'service' team know about my ordeal, their response was that I didn't alert them to the issue within the 2 week period. 2 weeks!? how on earth was i supposed to see the extent of this damage within 2 weeks without the hair starting to grow out?! My issues are pretty simple, and in my opinion, a resolution would have been pretty easy. And wouldn't have left me with such a poor view and experience of these salons. I would have expected a refund for at least one of the sessions and some advice on how I could try and rectify the situation, or continued sessions with them to rectify what they did. However their response was 'This wasnt reported to us within the 2 weeks that we allow. I explained how this couldnt have been reported within 2 weeks as I had no idea the extent of which it was damaged until a couple of months later when i saw the tufts growing back. I asked at the sessions why my hair was feeling thinner, and the response was that it was 'probably just paranoia'. So anyway. That is my honest review of Blue Tit and their customer service. And no part of me would recommend them. read more

Went here to go from ginger to blonde - initially I wasn't booked in for the correct amount of time needed to do this after having spoken to the receptionist and having emailed prior to making my appointment, HOWEVER! Harriet and her assistant, Rumor (sorry if I spelt that wrong) were brilliant. They made the time to give me as much one on one as they could, and even though I was there for a total of 5 hours, the time flew. Both ladies are really welcoming and sweet, not to meant ion very chatty and funny. It was more like having your hair done at your mates house than going to a salon. The salon itself is really cool - has a well loved, slightly worn look to it which fits in perfectly with the Hackney areas vibe. They have great tea and coffee, and beer and wine for those of you (me) who like a little drink while you wait for your hair to be done. I left super happy with my colour - grey blonde with baby blue roots - and keep getting tons of compliments on it! Definitely get yourself down here if you're looking for a cool kid make over. read more

Amended review - beautiful salon, really nice people. Had some great cuts here though was a bit disappointed initially when I had colour done due to a toner that had been put on that left my hair a mousey colour. Once that had washed out, I was pleased with the results. The colourist had actually done a great job, so it was a shame I didn't see that when I left the salon. However they did offer another appointment to sort it out when I said I wasn't happy so they were definitely keen to ensure I liked my hair. I would definitely recommend blue tit. read more

I have been a regular - will side with other reviewers on staff being late and sometimes too frank in conversations but I kept coming back for the quality of cuts which I have to say has been consistently good. Booked online for this morning, but when I showed up they told me I'm on not on their system.. Completely clueless at the reception and not even an attempt to compensate. I went here a) Because my friend reccomended it b) Because its practically opposite my house c) Because it looks great. I'm trying to grow my har and I'm therefore terrified of the hairdressers as everytime I go they hack off way too much in one go. I thought I'd give ths pricey place a go though as I thought they'd do a good job. When I first arrived they had me down as Lauren which was annoying then offered me a drink which never arrived. They then made me wait even though I was on time. The stylist had a lot of experience and did my hair well, bt it was so bare in there that I felt overexposed and the hair washer guy acted like he couldnt be bothered with anything and was a bit sarcastic. They hav etheir own philosophy on hair whch is basically not to use any styling products in the hair, ever, only heat protection spray before blow-drying, which is bizzarre if you need a bit of volume or oomph in your hair. Toni & Guy don't go by this mantra. He did a tiny trim and didnt charge me for a full cut. But at £34 just for a wash and a blow dry it still wasnt cheap. The blow dry wasn't good either. My hair was flat and limp I do it better myself. I also asked for colour advice after, as my new highlights (another hairdresser did) arent perfect, and he told me it looked like I had a yellow blob of mustard on my head.Nice! So disappointed ! I've been recommended by my friend who had a haircut . So i thought i'd give a try as i needed to color my roots . So all i wanted was just to make all my hair even color ( golden blonde ) . I clearly mentioned that i dont want any highlights. Ok , so all started very well they were very nice and looked like know what they doing . But oh how wrong i was . after 15 minutes of hair dye in my head , they popped up some highlights assuring it will even out the look .....(mhhh ?).... I guess and no - now I know, that highlights are only used to cover hairdresser's mistakes. So after washing out the tint - here i am turned into some dull brown mess with some texture highlights to hide their chosen too dark tone for me !!! And i just wanted a root tint !!! Shame I still have all roots with so much visible line too ! Do they even know that obviously if i am a brunette - i ll need much lighter tone to make my hair golden blonde ! I am literally so angry that i wasted my time to lose my beautiful golden blond color and now i need to redo it anyway . They are not competitive enough , so a lot improvement and just basic knowledge needed . Also i looked to the lady next to me that had some highlights done and her face was not happy ! read more

After one really good haircut (with Matt G) here when the salon first opened I booked in for a second cut and it's quite probably my last. My appointment with Simone (a gent, in case you like me are a little surprised by this!) was booked for 1pm. But after having my hair washed and being seated next to where Simone was finishing another customer's haircut, it was nearly 2pm and my hair mostly dry before he stopped flirting outrageously with her and started my appointment. He apologised cursorily for being an hour late to start but quickly justified it by saying he likes to make sure that everyone has the best possible cut. But having said this, obviously conscious of running behind for the rest of the afternoon, he gave me the fastest, and shoddiest, haircut I've ever had in my life. When my boyfriend, who was strolling past, stopped in to say hello for less than a minute, Simone rudely told him we had to get on with my cut after keeping me waiting for more than an hour. He cut off 3 inches of hair despite agreeing on one, and gave me a fringe so wonky it looked like it had been cut with toenail clippers. I just wish I hadn't been so desperate to get out of there that I left without making a proper complaint. For very nearly £60 I'm still so annoyed about how I was treated, and the truly awful cut I left with. I know they're young and doing things differently but Simone's service was just beyond awful. read more

I took my daughter here for a hair cut and she absolutely loved it. Fantastic service, great atmosphere. I aid more than I usually do, but she did have a wash, cut and blow dry. The staff made her feel really special and I couldn't begrudge the extra, it was definitely worth it. read more

The worst blowdry ever! I get a blowdry once per week in other salons but was curious to try the "award winning" blue tit. - It took 2 hours to get my hair done, instead of the usual 1 hour that it takes me in all other salons in London. - They looked at my hair (which is thick and massive) in a pretty annoyed way for the whole two hours. - They pulled so strong I have a headache now. I told them they were pulling to hard but they ignored me saying it was because of my hair. - They put a mousse on my hair before drying it without asking me if it was ok for me to get my hair dirty just after having washed them. The mousse made my hair hard so they couldn't dry it properly, pulled to get rid of the knots but didn't succeed. - My ends are now full of knots, my roots are frizzy, my hair is dirty. - When booking on the phone they tod me they price would have been £30, "three, zero" but at the till tehy said it was £38. I complained and they ignored it, in an annoyed way they said they would do £32 for me. Bad quality, bad service, bad custmer care. read more

So expensive and they don't listen! I went in as they're so close to my house and needed some basic upkeep. I brought in a few photos for the hairdresser to see what I was after, it's was a trim on my current cut. They were 1hr late getting to me, by the time the guy starting cutting my hair he wasn't interested in looking at the photos or discussing what I wanted. He was too busy rushing through the cut and joking around with the other staff. He didn't even apologies for keeping me waiting. In 20 mins I was done and he took the cape off. He smiled and walked off to get a broom! I was mortified! I went to the counter to pay and mentioned how I was treated, the girl at the counter (Sophie?) laughed and said that was just his personality! I paid angry and left. That evening my bf saw my hair and asked me if I cut it myself!! He pulled out 2 large chunks of hair that hadn't been cut to the same length. It was so obvious when I looked at the back with a mirror help up. I called the next day and I was told I could go back in for another cut or that was it. I decided not to! There's no way I would go back again or trust the same rude dude to fix his mistake! read more

For a company thats prides its self on giving the ultimate experience WELL it was an experience for sure! but frankly not a good one! Absolutely disgusted by their service! These people are by far the most unprofessional I've ever witnessed! Not only have they ruined my hair I now have to live with it until I can find someone to fix this mess! (100 different shades of purple and ginger) I don't appreciate being eye ball rolled either when I'm clearly upset and unhappy with the results! especially by lazy and young staff with a stinking attitude (Catherine)! The director who had agreed to meet me at 6.30pm the following day, strolled in at 9pm to sort it out! I'm sorry but if you took your customer complaints seriously you'd have arrived on time and wouldn't have a client sat there for 2 and half hours! Then expected me to then sit there for however long.. jabbering on that he would try and fix it (which is not how i'd originally asked for it) Then asked me to pay the full amount to mask a problem caused by his clearly untrained staff! Save your money and your hair - don't bother with this place. It doesn't even deserve one star to be real with you. I went in for an ombre/flamboyage colour and cut, of which I wanted an auburn red fading into a ginger type colour. I explained this to the hairdresser as a red ombre style. I assumed she would then get a colour chart or something to negotiate on what my red meant as obviously we cannot all have the same concept of colour in our heads and it is difficult to translate a colour without a shared reference point. None of this was done, no consultation, she didn't even ask for a photo of what i wanted or something similar. Before I knew it I had bleach on my whole head (which I did not want - i assumed she would bleach the ends to achieve the lighter colour but definitely not the whole thing), she did not let me know what was on my hair until during the process at which point there was not much I could do as it was irreversible. I would never have chosen to have my whole head bleached as it is damaging and months later my hair feels very brittle and dry. The hairdresser seemed like a trainee or was at least not very experienced and the manager seemed to be warily on guard, coming over every so often to have a look. The colour that came out was hideous and not at all what I wanted, I felt like I wasn't listened to at all and the staff were all just occupied amongst themselves, chatting and joking and ultimately paying minimal attention their PAYING clients. I missed two days of work as a result of this terrible colour job as I work in a corporate environment and had an extremely bright pinkish red which they couldn't allow me to work with. After this I then decided to get my money back as the haircut was now costing me a lot of money. I went in to the hairdresser and asked for this and was told by the manager that he would speak to his manager. I have since called more than 10 times trying to chase a manager to give me a refund but there is always some kind of excuse. 'He's not here' , 'Oh i think he's actually talking to the manager about it now' 'he's at another office' 'he's on lunch'. This has been a complete joke and I don't know how else to get my money back other than write this review, send them an official letter of complaint and inform Watchdog. I feel Blue tit deals very unprofessionally with it's customers and this is the worst service I think I have ever experienced. read more
