I had a nice view of the pier though it was partially blocked by the tree outside. The AC could be more powerful. The sun does make the room warmer when the temperature outside is 23-25c. I love the bee kind range of amenities. They are nice. I also like the rain shower and handheld shower options. The front desk staff are friendly and they will also call the room to check if you need anything before they knock off for the night. There is no 24 hours reception here. I like the coffee machine in the lobby as it has more choices. Just have to wait till 8am when the reception is open. When the AC is turned on, I can't hear anything. But when it is turned off, I can hear voices from other rooms. But at night it is quite ok. No loud noises from inside or outside. I didn't really hear the traffic outside despite it being the highway. I will definitely stay here again. And you will need to car to get around Sunshine Coast easily. Only a few restaurants and shops in the area so you will definitely be going out and about. There is a bus stop next door though.

We stayed in the African Queen room this time and we loved it! One evening we had the wood burning stove. So many little details in the room. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was huge. I wished we could have stayed there longer. It's a great place to go to just unwind. I also took advantage of the spa and had a massage and facial. The breakfasts were amazing! Our family along with another couple stayed in the Timberloft Cottage, which is a separate house from the main bed and breakfast. Staying in the cottages, you are responsible to make all your own food, but you'll have all the peace and privacy needed. There's a BBQ beside the front door and your own private hot tub on the lower deck. Inside on the main level, there's the living room, dining room, balcony, washroom and a queen size bed. Keep in mind that the walls aren't fully closed off from the main living areas so if you're a light sleeper, that might be a problem. There's also a skylight so you won't be able to sleep in unless you bring something to cover your eyes. Downstairs, there's a king size bed with washroom. It's a lot more comfortable downstairs as well as darker and quieter. The patio doors open to the hot tub from the room. I was in constant communication with Chris who is one of the owners before getting to Sechelt. He helped answer all of our questions and even went above and beyond to look up some details for us. Thank you! The only thing I would suggest is to install an air conditioner for the cottage because it got to a point where it was uncomfortable. Other than that, I wish we can visit on a yearly basis.

It's in the back, although you can also enter through Karma on W. Georgia. Just go to the elevators and down to UL to check-in. The valet attendants were consistently friendly, especially one of the taller gentlemen whose name I wish I'd remembered. At check-in, Shashim (I hope I'm spelling that right) found out it was my birthday, upgraded my room, and even sent up some treats. Nice touch. The hotel is beautiful, and my room had a great view. The only hiccup was that my room wasn't serviced during my three-night stay. It turned out I had accidentally activated the DND setting on the in-room iPad controls. The first night they put a letter under my door but it referenced a "sign" when the actual physical sign was on the inside of my door. I was confused but just moved it the next morning. Once I called to ask why my room wasn't cleaned again and for fresh towels, the staff explained what happened. The manager called me personally while the housekeeping associate waited outside my door until I gave permission to enter and he even showed me the setting so I wouldn't run into the issue again. But by then, I only had one night left. Once I realized the misunderstanding, everything made sense. I appreciated how professionally the staff handled it and I'd definitely consider staying here again if I venture to Vancouver again.

It's also ideally located in the city right by the train station and close to a lot of great tourist points in Vancouver. Our room was beautiful and clean--nice bay window lounge area in the room and the bathroom was completely updated with under sink lighting too. Beds were incredibly comfortable and we loved how soft the pillows were. The only negative callout I'd have about the rooms is regarding the old school heaters and no instructions on how to operate it. Now the downside overall was just consistent miscommunication with the staff. While they're nice, they tell you one thing then come to find out they mean something completely different. For example when they say our breakfast reservation is for 7am, so we're up and ready for breakfast only to come out and hear from the front desk staff-- "sorry we actually meant 8am". An entire hour difference is significant and incredibly frustrating when you're timing your morning around a flight but it all worked out in the end. That's just one example among a lot of little other miscommunication from the staff but we only stayed one night anyway so not a big deal. The free breakfast is amazing though and located just at the restaurant next door. There really is only one option (eggs, toast, bacon, potatoes plate) or oatmeal but the breakfast place was absolutely delicious. I'd definitely stay here again if I'm ever back in the area.

The next day, as we were leaving in the AM, a staff member came up to us unsolicited and apologized for not cleaning the room! We were shocked, because obviously, we had not said anything to anyone. So that was above and beyond customer service as far as we were concerned, and deserves to be mentioned here. Rooms: They are probably bigger than most in downtown Vancouver. As others have said, all the rooms now have personal bathrooms in them, rather than shared bathrooms. We had one of their nicer rooms with exposed brick in it. However, the reason why I can not give them five stars involves the heating. Because this is an old building, the heating is radiator heating. Now we had zero problem with that, because we've lived in older places in our lives that heat using a radiator. However, because the building is so old, the heating was hard to control, and took time to actually kick in. One person who worked there even told us that during our first day there. So when we wanted to turn the heat on, it took some time, and then when we wanted it off, that took some time too! The thermostat was behind our TV, so that was a little challenging too. I was going to write that there is no A/C in this place, but I saw an earlier Yelp review that says they provide portable units in warmer weather, so if that's the case, then that would be fine. But there is no central A/C in a place like this. The other curious thing about this place was that you couldn't take the stairs if you wanted to take them instead of the elevator. They did have some outside stairs you could take, which seemed to me to be an old fire escape at one point. But I certainly didn't want to go outside to walk downstairs. All that being said, because there aren't too many rooms there, there is virtually zero wait time for the elevators. In the five days we were there, there was only ONE time that we had to take the elevator with someone else.

We had lots of luggage since we had just finished an Alaska cruise. It was too early to check in but we had hoped we could store our luggage here so we wouldn't have to drag around with us. But, surprisingly, we were allowed to check in several hours early which truly made our day. Although the hotel is somewhat dated it was very clean. And the friendly service made our stay very pleasant. Great location with many restaurants, an H-Mart, and other shopping within easy walking distance.

We took an Uber from the airport and checked in at the main building, which had a stylish little lobby with a sports bar on one side and an Italian restaurant on the other. The front desk staff told us our room was actually across the street, which felt a little sketchy at first--but once we got to room 402 on the fourth floor, we were very pleasantly surprised. The room felt more like a brand-new apartment than a hotel room! It had a full kitchen, a separate bedroom with a door, a modern bathroom, two TVs, and a spacious living area. Super clean, comfortable, and updated--we loved it. Location-wise, it was about a 15-minute walk to Gastown and downtown, and the next morning we took a short $10 taxi ride to the cruise port. We were dropped off right at the front of the luggage drop-off line. Overall, I would absolutely stay at Hotel Moda again and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reasonably priced, modern place to stay before a cruise out of Vancouver.

There is hotel parking, however it is in limited supply and located a half block away in an underground public parkade (fee for that is $36/day) otherwise there is a private paid lot directly beside the hotel. I understand that times are tough for everyone, businesses and average Joe's alike, however it feels like everything here is nickel and dimed--from the $3 cartoned water on the nightstand, to the underwhelming breakfast, to the parking. The location is rather cute with the back units facing Porpoise Bay directly below. It's full of duck and geese at low tide, with a marsh on the other side by the overflow parking lot -- it's all kinda funky! And oh, if your car's back up sensors are beeping, it's probably a goose waddling by. If it's not waddling it might be leaving little deposits! The units in 2025 just underwent renovations with apparently further improvements coming to the property (the check-in area perhaps). While the rooms aren't huge by any standards (we had a double bed room) decor and layouts are clean, modern and pleasing to the eye and functionality of use. Thru wall air conditioner units, while occasionally noisy, work well. The bedding is comfortable with good pillows, sheets and comforters. The dedicated cleaning staff do a great job -- though the center hallway by the supply room gets a bit crowded in the afternoon. The bathrooms are totally up-to-date, the toilets work well, the bathtub/shower setups are awesome (for those who find that important). The waterfall sink tap is a nice touch but at partial water flow the water drips down the tap pooling on the countertop. I noticed the modern wall pegs for towel hanging while bathing were coming out of the wall. When are renovators going to learn to place blocking behind drywall first? I did find the large window covering in our room, being a simple roller blind, was mounted over the window opening rather than inset. For the lower units with an outer walkway I felt it wasn't the best configuration for privacy. Also if your itinerary allows for sleeping in, it's probably best to get an upper unit as some travellers above you may be up early moving about. I don't know how cumbersome the stairs might be, etc. And hey, certainly the staff are entirely friendly and enthusiastic when we visited in the summer. Between 5 and 7 in the evening they will fire up the propane pit and bring out chocolate cookies and large marshmallows with a small stick. Um, bring your own napkins and hand wipes. There is very little parking directly at the front but a huge dedicated lot just across the road. I believe that lot has camera surveillance. There is a tent community a distance up the road currently, though there wasn't any apparent rift-raft where the hotel is located near the marina.

Biggest issue is that the room smells like tobacco smoke and it is supposed to be non smoking. Bathroom smells like there is someone smoking in it all the time - fan does not help. If you are concerned for your health, do not stay here. If there was a sink outside the bathroom, i would use it as the toilet because i can't use the bathroom. Carpet floor feels sticky to bare feet so DO NOT take off your shoes. All cloths in luggage will have to be washed even if not worn. 1 star is 1 too many.
