Captain Jim's has the freshest seafood in North Miami…read more We often dine in, but occasionally we've also taken fish or lobsters to grill when tailgating etc., and it's always way better and fresher than what we would have picked up anywhere else. Choosing which lobster or yellowtail from the ice counter you want them to prepare, and how you want it prepared, is a fun part of the dining experience for us. Occasionally they have hog snapper or another fresh catch available. The fried lobster tail was fantastically seasoned with a little kick, and I've never had it prepared this way, chopped up into bite-sized pieces. Very filling and we could have shared one, but we still managed to devour both tails and left very full and satisfied. Each tail, including one side, was about $40 - but market price items vary based on size and weight of what's available that day. There are also plenty of less expensive options on the menu. One of my favorites is the yellowtail sandwich. And if you get there before 7:00pm you can order some oysters and lobster croquettes from the happy hour menu. Captain Jim's is a casual and comfortable restaurant with marine decor where the food is the star. Service is always friendly, helpful, and attentive.

Quite little Seafood Restaurant in a small Strip Mall has a kinda unique feature that you don't see too often in South Florida but is common in my "Neck Of The Woods", there's a Fresh Seafood Market attached. The menu is not large but it has some pretty good items. Some are standard South Florida menu items Calamari, Conch Salad, Fritter, Scampi are among the offerings but there are a few standouts like: Blackened Fish, Shrimp Creole, Buffalo Shrimp, Caribbean Fish Soup, Shrimp And Grits, Po Boys and a few other sandwiches and pastas round out the menu. But the star of the show are the Fresh Shucked Oysters. From Virginia and only a $1.25 during Happy Hour, these oysters are delicious and have a different taste than their primos from the Gulf Of Mexico that I grew up on.....delicious nonetheless. The great staff makes dining here a much better experience. You're warmly welcomed and presented with a little bite of Krab Salad as soon as you sit. Happy Hour starts at 4PM and ends at 7PM. Do not miss the opportunity to indulge, it's a nice gateway to the great dinner you'll enjoy.

The good: the sushi was fresh and good quality. The bad: the rolls are smaller than what I'm used to at this price point. They seem to use a wasabi paste, which is ok but it's not authentic wasabi and there is no option to order natural authentic wasabi. They definitely need to add descriptions on their DoorDash menu, they just list the names on DoorDash so found myself going back and forth between their menu on Google and their menu on DoorDash which was extremely annoying. Tip: if using DoorDash, make sure to Google the menu if you want details on what you're ordering. Overall really good quality but nothing beats Sushi Erika so the search continues.
