I was going to let this review go. I am about to be a grandfather so I really started feeling like I had more important things to do. However, when someone throws out the challenge, it has to be met.
This review involves Blue Ridge Hobbies, specifically their web business. This has nothing to do with a physical store if they have one.
I placed on online order with this business between Christmas and New Year. On 12/26 I saw a charge for my order on my account but I was curious why I did not receive an order confirmation. I emailed my question to the contact information on the web page. I received a response to my email but it did not include my order number. He did say he would be back from vacation on 1/3. I did not email again knowing that the business was currently on vacation.
On 1/5/17 I see a charge on my account from Blue Ridge Hobbies for shipping on my order. I think, ok they are back from vacation I should get my order number and confirmation. Still did not receive it. On Saturday 1/7 I write another email that I was a little upset that I still had not received an order number or confirmation and I had not received a shipping confirmation. Once again, I receive a response from Blue Ridge Hobbies but, once again, it did not include may order confirmation, order number and did not include a shipping acknowledgement.
So, by now I am upset. I return the email with one of my own upset about not getting the information I requested (no cussing, no personal insults). I get a return email from the owner that is about as polite as mine was, but I finally got my order number. At this time, not the in the other emails, he tells me there was a problem with my email and sort of puts the blame on me. So here I have emailed twice, giving a chance for the problem to be solved if he notifies me of any problems (and giving my order number) but he fails to do so and waits until both of our tempers have been escalated.
So, we go back and forth in emails, neither one of us happy with the other him blaming me for the email snafu, me saying he should respond to his customers better. So, I get the call I am about to be a grandfather and I think to heck with this. Then he sends me the final email and ends with this comment, "And still you have not answered the question. Did you receive the emails for all four different servers at (my email address)? I guess you will not check or you have and just won't admit it. Any further emails from you regarding this matter will be considered harassment and reported to the proper authorities."
Ok, you have emailed me as many times as I have emailed you. Harassment to one is harassment to the other in this instance. You ask me a question but threaten me if I answer it? Well now I am on Yelp answering the question. I have 172 past and current emails at the address you have and not one from your business. My fault, your fault, server fault, does it really matter that much to you to be right? Fine, you can believe all you want you are right. Where you are very wrong is the fact that I needed an order number to verify that the money I paid you was actually being applied to an order and you failed to deliver that information. You have no excuse for this because you responded to an address that you had emailed...twice.
To be fair, after all of our emails to each other, I did receive a partial refund. I will also comment that Blue Ridge Hobbies price are good compared to other sites. Just be aware this is a small business and while they will take your order and money 24 hours on his web site, check his schedule to make sure he is working because they will not ship with the same efficiency. read more
