Amazing, amazing store. So many board games, expansions, and accessories to choose from - including traditional board games, card games, tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, and TCGs like Pokemon and Magic the Gathering. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and helpful. As of writing this, they offer a membership where you are able to sign up for a year of 10% off, which costs only $10 for the year. WELL worth it, saved more than the price of the membership in 2 visits. Incredible store. I love this place. read more

Boardwalk - D&D book - Hobby Shops Near Me - Greenville, South Carolina

Very racist and rude people work here. My husband, a huge gamer, stopped in there today. He was taking clothes to the consignment store nearby and saw Boardwalk and was excited to check it out. He walked in and despite there being several employees there, no one acknowledged him or welcomed him in. The employees just stared at him like he was a foreign creature. While he was in the store, he heard an employee enthusiastically explaining a lot about a game to another customer. He was surprised and shocked at how knowledgeable and informative the employee seemed to be. So my husband saw some type of figure/game that he was interested in and wanted to know more about it. He went to ask an employee more details and the employee was very cold and just said "uh, I don't know". They didn't even take the time to research, ask another co-worker, or anything. They just seemed really uninterested in helping my husband. Although he was planning to buy it, he ended up just walking out because he didn't feel like he was appreciated as a customer. First time there and last time there. He had to come back to the consignment store in the plaza later in the afternoon to pick up the stuff and just looking over at Boardwalk and seeing people go in and out made him sick to his stomach. The feeling of his business and money not being good enough for them. Very sad. Will never recommend. read more

This place is the all the things a board game lover dreams of! From jigsaw puzzles to cards to dice to excellent games, they have it all. I have never met staff more passionate and knowledgeable than I did just now in their store. Every worker was eager to help and could answer any question about ANY game. They also have open play game rooms and a game library check out (for in house use) so that you can try games before buying or hang out there and play. If you are looking for a new board game, this is the place to shop! read more

I love this place! They are well organized, have a wide selection of games, and best of all, they have an amazing staff that is friendly, knowledgable and helpful. My husband and I have purchased some of our favorite games based on their reccomendations! I also love that they have space to play in the back of the store and offer quite a few games that you try out. Whether you are a serious gamer or just looking to try something new, you should definitely check this place out. 5/5 stars! Bonus for people with babies: The bathrooms are always clean and there is a koala station for changing a diaper! read more

The staff are incredibly helpful and caring. They have provided me with recommendations based on my interests and game mechanics I enjoy. Anytime an item has been out of stock they have taken a note and called me to let me know when it's back in stock. The membership/rewards program is well worth it and will quickly pay for itself. The stance is great and includes the fresh hotness as well as tried and true favorites. I cannot say enough good about my experience at Boardwalk! read more

I don't get to this store as often as I'd like, but when I do I am never disappointed. Very clean, well organized and a friendly and knowledgable staff. Great selection. Just today I called looking for a game my local store had a problem even finding in their system, let alone whether they had it incoming. Called Boardwalk and as soon as I mentioned the game Tim knew exactly the title I was lookng for and offered to set it aside til I could come pick it up. I asked about an accessory and he said he'd look into ordering it ; I was like, whatever its not a huge deal. He called back within ten minutes to let me know it wasn't available so I could try finding it somewhere else. If you're in the area, definitely worth stopping by. read more

Great selection of board games to buy; I believe they have every game under the sun! They also have a great demo selection behind the counter that can be played for free, no cover charge. An employee told me, "If you have a couple of friends and need a place to hang out and play some games, come on in; it's as simple as that!" The demo selection is not ultra expansive; about two ceiling-high shelves full, but for a free experience it is a great option. There were a few vital pieces missing from one of the demos that I pulled; but to learn the game it did the trick. read more

Boardwalk is a candy store for people who like to play games. This location is perfect, and very spacious. There is a very nice store front that includes chess boards, darts, boards and accessories, many card games and rows and rows of board games. In the back of the store there is a very nice game area with tables, comfy chairs and great lighting. There were easily 6 different games going on at the same time, my group was play Settlers of Catan. Snack & Drinks - there is a fridge with various carbonated drinks as well as a table full of jerky chips and other great snacky foods. read more

Although Boardwalk is not a large store - they maintain a large stock of board games, rpg systems, tabletop games, and card games. They have several clean and spacious tables in the back, and are great at working with local game runners to host events. They have some small snacks, and clean restrooms, and are always willing to find answers for questions about game systems they are not familiar with. read more
