I visited Page & Post with my family on Sunday, September 27, 2026, expecting to enjoy a local…read moreGreenville business together. Instead, I encountered a greeting card featuring an image of a noose with the message, "Congrats on tying the knot." As an African American woman and a descendant of people who were enslaved, lynched, terrorized, tormented, and dehumanized, I cannot separate the image of a noose from that history. I find absolutely no humor in this image, only hurt and sadness. I understand that humor is subjective and that the card may have been intended as dark or provocative humor. But intent does not erase impact. For me, seeing a noose presented as a joke made me feel uncomfortable, hurt, and unsafe in the store. It was especially upsetting because I was there with my family and had expected the experience to be welcoming. What makes this particularly disappointing is that Page & Post publicly describes itself as committed to "sustainability and social responsibility," "deeply invested in our community and our people," and "inclusivity and sustainability." I emailed the ownership and leadership of Page and Post to explain my experience and ask them to consider whether this card, and the decision to sell and display it, was consistent with those stated values. I have received no response to my email. I did notice that the card has since been removed from Page & Post's online card catalog. I appreciate that the product is no longer being presented on the website, but I am not satisfied that simply removing the card addresses the concern I raised. There has been no acknowledgment of the hurt caused, no response to my questions, and no indication that the underlying concern has been meaningfully considered. I am sharing this review because I believe businesses should be accountable not only for the products they sell, but also for how those products affect the people and communities they serve. I hope Page & Post will take this opportunity to seriously examine whether the products it chooses to sell reflect the inclusivity, social responsibility, and community-minded values it publicly claims. I am not asking Page & Post to agree with me about humor. I am asking the business to recognize that a noose is not a neutral image for everyone and that for some of us, it represents a very painful history that should not be reduced to a wedding joke. - Samantha Y. However, I saw some crafts outside the door and a sign that said Unique and Chic so decided to walk inside. I'm so glad that I did because I love seeing creative, artistic, crafts . . . This is a collection of independent vendors so you have to walk and check each one out. One of the first vendor had metal one word signs on wood, some with hooks to hang coat/hat/etc. Others had adorable outfits -- Tiger fans may want to look at the next booth. There were painted furniture with Bible verses on them, others had home decor. Jewelry, and I happen to come across at the back, a workshop that just finished. A couple women had just completed painting on wooden piece through Southernhomemade and will now be able to hang up for the Christmas season. You can book your own party with them. The biggest challenge is since these are all independent vendors who don't hang by their booth, one can peruse and if want to purchase an item or two, there was an employee at the cash register. There are definitely some cute and unique gifts, just in time for the holidays!
