I purchased two items: a very unique piece of pottery made by an artist from New Hampshire and a pair of earrings. What a deal! Bottom Line? I've been antiquing for 40 years, (yes, I'm that old-something of an antique myself) and I have also worked at antique/thrift/consignment shops so I'm familiar prices and quality. With that said, most of the prices at this antique shop are exorbitant. Be prepared to drop three "bills" for a rag doll... four bills for a hutch... Look, I know some of these items are unique, some date the Civil War era, but even the brass, figurines and baskets are high priced. I think I saw an old broken wreath for $20. Even that wasn't worth the "poultry" amount. I've seen similar items at other antique shops for a lot less chicken feed. I don't mean to ruffle any feathers, but with all the antique shops in the Culpeper area, save your nest egg for a more reasonable shop!

I do think a film or something like that, could really enhance this place that's about Culpeper. This town is named after Lord Culpeper, in the time of the British empire. There's a really neat exhibition of dinosaur tracks found. This was a added bonus. As expected some details about native Americans. They have a good display of arrowheads, and how these people manufactured them. The revolutionary war and civil war were covered. Even more modern conflicts were. One interesting artifact was a old camera, that shows how big they used to be. Same with a cash register. If you're close by it's worth it. The staff was friendly, and it was nice to learn a little more about the town.

Three of my friends held their weddings here and I personally hosted a friends bridal shower here during the pandemic. I have to say the venue is PERFECT for all occasions. There are distinct areas that you can rent. During the pandemic, the owner went out of his way to help us set up the bridal shower, make sure the area was well ventilated, but also included heat lamps and fans so we would be comfortable. There is also an Air Conditioned tasting room that was super comfortable. I've bought cases of their wine and they make fantastic gifts. When just visiting, I love all of the activities they have and the wines. I will definitely be back and hope to host more events here.
