I called and was greeted by a very sweet lady. She said that Gerardo could actually come that day. Since that didn't work for me, he came the next day. He called and said he would be a little late but gave me a time that he would arrive. A very nice man came to the house ready to go. The clips on the apparatus which holds our drapes were breaking, and the one drape was hanging askew. Gerardo gave me some information on the two types of clips, we decided on one, and he went to work. He didn't like the way the one side was closing (not as smooth), pointed it out, and fixed it for me. He also inspected the other two drapes on the smaller windows without me saying anything. Everything is like new again. He is professional, personable, and very reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again. Highly recommended. read more

Really a shame. I wanted to use a local and worse yet referred by Costco through their Graber Blinds Program. Excellent individual that stated he had lots of experience. His name is Alec. His measurements were spot on (same as mine). He came on time to the appointment. His only problem - absolutely no follow through! No samples were ever sent out. No email with quotes. No questions answered. I needed information regarding motorization and electrical requirements. I am guessing our job would have been $4000 plus. Disappointing that I can't use a local company and worse yet, I won't ever trust Costco for one of their "referrals". Accord to this person, Alec, they do a lot of commercial business. So maybe consumers are not their priority. And that is fine, then get out of the consumer business. Now I have to start all over again! Take another day off of work! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Small local owned business. Excellent personalized service. They make custom products for whatever you need. It's not like those ready made cheap curtains and blinds. You can pick any design for fabric or style and they will custom make any window coverings like drapes, curtains, blinds, shades, and even a matching table cloth or bed spread & pillow shams! You can't go wrong with Blue Ribbon Drapery. My wife and I needed new blinds to go with our new windows. We started with a big box store recommendation that was very expensive, tried one of the businesses whose ads you see on tv and wasn't too impressed. So we decided to try out Costco (I know another big box store recommendation). However this big box store recommendation led me to John with Blue Ribbon. After Costco called me back to get more details, I received a call from John a couple days later to set up an appointment. He came over and measured everything and we sat down to go over the options and price. John was a pleasure to work with. He even taught me a couple life lessons during his initial visit. The price offered was the lowest of the three, and along with the great customer service, we decided to go with Blue Ribbon. Our order was placed and two weeks later (Christmas and New Years delayed our shipping some) John called to tell me our blinds were ready and we set up a date for install the next day. The next day John and his colleague came over and they installed nine faux wood blinds in our house made by Graber. He was on time and had the blinds installed within a couple hours, while imparting more lessons about life. Three weeks later, the blinds look great and we are more than pleased. It's amazing the big difference they made and our house looks really great from the inside and out. If you are looking for blinds, you can't go wrong with Blue Ribbon. They were picked by the blind manufacture Graber to be their blind/shutter/curtain installer for Costco Long Beach/Lakewood area customers. All their employees had to go through a rigorous background check and training to even be associated with the Costco name. So you know they have to be good and trustworthy. So if my review isn't enough to convince they are a great company for blinds and curtains, then maybe the Costco affiliation will. read more

I've been going to Barbera for my drape and curtain needs for many years and they are the absolute BEST. Barbara is extremely knowledgeable and will give guidance if you don't know anything about curtains or drapes. The quality of their work is impeccable! There are at least 20 places closer to where I live that make curtains but I would rather go to Blue Ribbon Drapery because I know what I'm going to get. Oh and they are FAST. I dropped off my drapes on Wednesday and they were ready by Friday. Don't go anywhere else for your drapes!!! read more

If I could give this plce a negative 50 stars I would. I was dealing with someone by the name of barbra and she was horrible. I needed tabs for the top of my curtains. I gave her 2 1/2 yards of material and she totally destroyed the tabs. Half were too small, the other half were too long. she took over a month to make them. I ask for a refund and she told me no. I ask for her to replace the material and she told me no. she told me she made the tabs and I thought they were wrong and she got paid once for doing the same job twice. A very ignorant statement from someone in retail. She is a very bad business woman. My best guess, the reason that Blue ribbon recieved positive stars is because the shades, curtains, blinds etc.. were prefab orders and someone came to just do the install. In this day and age, this place is a blessing. Custom made draperies that are well constructed, hang correctly, on ball bearing curtain rods. You can have them made out of any material from all over the world. They do excellent work. And you don't have to worry about it. They install it all and the prices are very reasonable, in fact close enough to good quality pre made stuff, that having custom made, just the way you want, is a no brainer. read more

Do not buy any Sunsetter Awning products from this company or you will be cheated. They will not provide you with the same deal that the actual Sunsetter company will give to you. On 4-18-17 I purchased two top of the line retractable awnings, for over $8,000, from Blue Ribbon thinking that they would sell me the same products as the Sunsetter advertising brochures. They do not honor the Sunsetter advertising . In addition there was excessive procrastination with their installer. The awnings were not complete and fully installed until 6-16-17. It seemed that the installer had too many other jobs to do and just could not dedicate enough time to get the job done. Shipments were lost coming from Sunsetter, dirt was tracked in on my light colored carpet, the installer did not have a qualified helper to help him and I had to help him lift heavy material over a second floor balcony railing. . The first install attempt was defective and the awning did not work correctly. I do not know about the other products that Blue Ribbon may sell, but I certainly advise you not to buy any Sunsetter products from them. For that matter, with this experience that I just had, I will not buy any other Blue Ribbon products either. read more

He told me I would have them before the holiday. They were installed yesterday by Gerardo. He called before the appointment time to confirm. He was on time and very organized in setting up for the installation. He was very efficient and the blinds were installed in no time at all.
