LASERS ARE COOL. I…read moregot a very specific gift idea in my head, and Toronto Laser Services helped me pull it off. I ordered a beautiful wooden canoe paddle and wanted the gift-receivers name engraved on the bottom. I popped in with the paddle, told them my vision and it was perfect and ready for pickup within a week. About three days after dropping it off, they sent me a few options to choose from, and it looked *exactly* like the one I chose. Now that I know I can laser etch things with such ease, shit around my house is getting monogrammed. Because, again, LASERS ARE COOL.

The type of reception you get here depends on who you work with it seems. If you get the guy who…read moreruns this place on a bad day, he'll be supercilious, maybe nice to your face, but actually profoundly sarcastic. On a good day, he's a professional. The other staff are friendly, sincere in their interactions, helpful and really kind about explaining the processes even though it's a busy place. The first job I brought here was done perfectly. I was also grateful that they were willing to take a small job. The second job got kind of messed up. Delivery of the end product was late and I ended having to hand cut everything because the precision wasn't there. There was also a lot of waste of the material. The owner didn't really seem to care about that and I didn't want to get into it with him.

They made us wait 45 minutes before they could give us a quote and wanted to charge $56 just to print out 16 8.5"x11" pages, which would be about $5 at any Staples. Really the worst customer service I've ever seen. ANIME NORTH ARTISTS TAKE NOTE: They advertise their services to artist alley sellers at the con. This place is an industrial type print shop that is not set up for small orders. Its really irresponsible of them to be advertising in this way. Go to Staples instead.
