DO NOT HIRE ! I had the WORST experience with Blue Parrot Painting as it neared the end of the project. I would NOT work with Tim due to his lack of professionalism, lies and manipulative behavior when it came to payments and lack of follow through. Tim came to see my house and on the spot agreed to paint the entire interior of a brand new house. The floor installer was there who knew him from other jobs and this was a strong referral. We agreed on a price to do the interior of house and they began within the week. They did wonderful prep and I was excited due to their careful prep to paint the house. The job took longer than they said due to some drywall issues as well as family issues and Tim missing days and leaving early and one crew member being ill and missing some days. He told me he would cover the remaining drywall himself after the drywallers had come twice to do some more prep for them, to save time and it might take a couple hours. He then billed me for 35!!! hours at the cost of over $2000 and I stupidly paid it as well as the job in full before they completed and come back to do touch up which took 4 weeks to revisit the site. When they "finished" the job the first time, I was not there and they left a huge mess with no cleanup and it took me days to pull tape, and sweep, pick up rags and gloves etc. They did zero cleanup. I immediately took photos and sent them to the office manager also explaining how some tape was super high and I needed ladders to get it etc so I left it . The rest of clean up I had to do to prepare for the next workers coming in. They missed some areas with the wrong color after we talked about it twice-he told me he ran out of time and paint. When they came back a month later, he lied and said he didn't remember that and would not do it. Some areas were not painted fully like bedroom built ins and other trim areas under stairs and countertops in bathrooms. When they came back a month later to do their "touch up", there was a strange vibe coming from him. We walked the house so I could show him areas that needed to be completed and or touched up. He then presented me a piece of paper saying it would cost $1500 to do it. When I got upset and said I could not pay any more money, he ran out of my house and told the crew they were leaving. I inquired what might be going on and he was very angry and said he didn't fight and kept walking out. He did not take the time to calmly explain what he could and could not do. Instead he got nasty with me and threatened to leave multiple times. Also, a wall in the bathroom was supposed to be painted around an area of wallpaper. We talked about it with the wallpaper installer and then when I told him it was wrong he said we never said that, and he wouldn't do it. When I expressed my concern that I would not make it up and it needed paint, he said "I'm not doing it." He threatened to leave twice and I asked him to stay to get at least a few things done. They stayed and I left. I came back when they were leaving and asked him to show me what they did. He said I'll show you the list. I then said please show me what you did. He reluctantly went back in house and begrudgingly showed me the few things he did. I expressed how baffled I was at how he was treating me and the project and he got mad yet again and ran out of the house to his van to leave with our conversation not being complete. They missed several areas on this second round , job is not complete, areas weren't caulked and I have a lot of work to do to complete his terrible 2nd visit. I warn you to NOT work with this company...it was the most bizarre , unprofessional, incomplete, and rude experience I have ever had with a worker at my home. In no way was he concerned about making his customer happy. And I am definitely not happy with this company and the final product. read more

companies lead painter 'Tim' was extremely rude, demanding and made working around other contractors impossible. never had a more unprofessional experience in my 30yrs of business. save your family the headache and stay away from this company!!! Tim made threats to other contractors, made false accusations about other companies work ethics. To top it off Tim was trying to force other female contractors to work unsafely from ladders because he refused to allow the female contractors access to a back porch off the second level. Slamming the master bedroom door in our face, in front of the homeowners Children. Scaring the female (Exterior painting contractors) to the point they left immediately. Zero stars! This used to be an amazing family-owned business that we used for years without a problem. Their bids always came in higher than the other painters, but they did a good clean job. On our last project, we were quoted $1600 to paint some cabinets and a fireplace wall. They had a new employee and I would hear them talking and every time I walked into the room they were standing there looking at each other talking instead of working. This caused the project to go on much longer than expected. I also added the staining of one 3x4 ft piece of wood on top of each cabinet to the project. Other than that and a quick layer of whiter paint on the fireplace, there were no modifications. Imagine my surprise when Tim handed me a $3,600 bill for the work! I was in shock. I asked him where he got that number and why it was so far off from the original quote. I explained that if he was basically going to double the quote, he needed to let me know during the project so we could talk about it and how to proceed. He became completely irate and walked out of the house which you will see he did to other reviewers here. This to me is a victimization tactic And of course is completely unprofessional behavior. He then came back in the house and I mentioned that we've used them for years without any kind of problem like this and he started getting very heated again. He started pacing around and immediately threatened to put a lien on my house if I didn't pay in full. I then explained to him how many times I caught his employees, standing there, talking to each other and not working. He defended them by saying that they were allowed to take breaks and I had to explain right in front of them that they were not taking breaks but they were having long drawn out conversations without working and one was getting distracted by the other. He then offered to take $200 off of the bill and told me that I needed to call Sherry to pay her for it or he'd put a lien on my house. She was awful and rude and hung up on me, then called back apologizing, then after I paid in full told me never to contact them again (as if I would sign up to be RIPPED OFF again)! Very strange behaviour... These people drive really fancy cars and want nothing more than to suck every last cent you have out of you. I got a quote from our current painter for the same job (paint fireplace twice, cabinets, stain tips) and he said $1200 for the whole project and could not believe I was threatened into paying $3400 for it. I bought an Amazon Local voucher from this business and they refused to honor it because I had previously used their services (which were mediocre at best). (The voucher didn't say anything about returning customers.) They refused to honor my voucher and were incredibly rude on the phone. She called me a bitch and hung up on me when I tried to discuss it with her. They will try to upcharge you by more than double! Beware!!! read more

I've always had great experiences with Blue Parrot Painting. They've painted at our home and business several times over the last few years, most recently a small project just last week. The work they do is nothing short of fantastic! I have always found their painters to be neat, timely and professional and their staff to be very friendly. I hired Blue Parrot Painting to paint a room in our house. I booked 6 weeks in advance giving the color to be painted as well as the current wall color and room dimensions. I bought the recommended brand of paint in the 2 gal volume they required. Upon arrival we were up charged for having a room larger than 12x 12- which I was not told when I initially booked. Moreover the woman on the phone ( Sherri) was extremely rude and unprofessional to my husband and told him to " do it himself and he' loose the money we'd already paid). A bit later I checked in on the painter and discovered she was only intending to do one coat, because the coverage was "fine." I didn't feel comfortable with this as we have textured walls that often look fine when wet but in the end need two coats-'I was told in needed to call Sherri which I gladly did. I had hardly gotten out who I was and what my concerns were ( all expressed without raising my voice) when I was verbally assaulted by Sherri who cut me off, told me " if you're going to cry about it then tell her to do the two coats of paint, stated in the deal" I asked her to please not raise her voice with me and she told me "never to contact them again" and hung up on me. Both my husband and I were simply trying to clarify and get what we understood we had paid for -- but the abhorrent business practices and customer service were truly unlike anything we had experienced ever before ( after all we are paying customers!!!!) . While Jennifer did a fine 2 coat (after much push back) job, I cannot recommend this company AT ALL. Sherri was beyond unprofessional, It is just not ok to treat anyone the way we were treated - let alone a paying customer. Ps- I did get an email later from Sherri explaining that the reason she was defensive was because she felt the integrity of her business was being called into question. Clearly what she doesn't seem to comprehend is that the only thing that compromised the integrity of her business was her extremely inexcusable and offensively rude and unprofessional behavior.
