I could see how this place would be exciting for kids who enjoy math but from a concerned parent who just wants her child to be on level with the rest of her class this is awful. You need to ask about your child if you want to know about their progress . They lock you into $365 a month FOR A YEAR without any kind of trial period, and they tell you that it's for 10 sessions a month. BUT, if enough sessions arent even available in their calendar to add up to 10 in a month- they don't roll over sessions to the next month. I hope they can improve their communication and maybe corporate can make the contract that suits people of all financial backgrounds. Maybe a session punchcard? corporate also needs to improve the "progress report" they give to parents. It really isn't helpful and not great for knowing where they are at.

After every tutoring session George would make it his priority to ensure that me and my two girls made it to our car safely after their night time tutoring sessions. That was extremely kind and very much so appreciated! Additionally, Jim is a tutor that is highly valuable due to his vast knowledge in multiple subjects. He is always prepared and goes above and beyond to make sure his students understand the concept material. - Barb A

Our daughter was a regular at Ivy League from about fourth grade until she graduated from an elite…read morehigh school and went on to a top university (coincidentally or not, an "Ivy League" university). We brought her to Ivy League for tutoring in math initially, not because she was having problems but because we knew that she could excel in math as she already did in other areas. The tutoring at Ivy League helped her (and us) do extremely well in the most demanding math courses her school offered, as well as on every standardized test she took. Our daughter's tutors were always prepared and focused, with a genuine love of and expertise in mathematics and related areas. Some of the tutors are knowledgeable in multiple fields, and with their encouragement, our daughter discovered an interest in logic puzzles and became acquainted with math and logic games, puzzles, and concepts that were outside of the curriculum and expanded her general and specific knowledge. It has been quite a few years since her time at Ivy League; looking back, I recall the tutoring services provided as being top-notch. Parents and children are made to feel welcome, and tutors will work with specific matters (e.g. homework, test prep, standardized test practice) on request. Different children and parents have different tutoring needs. We would highly recommend Ivy League to a parent considering a tutor for their child. -- R & G C

They took the time to evaluate our children, establish a baseline and explain to us their recommendation and a way forward. I really like the data driven approach to identifying areas of need. I was most impressed with the Director giving us a clear plan with timelines, costs and end dates. What I liked the most about her is the clear, honest and pragmatic manner in which they articulated the options and solutions without any sales pitch. We would recommend Huntington Learning Center in Lincoln Park to other parents to help their kids in areas of need.

My son benefited from the individual attention in the study skills program from the teachers who really challenged him to become an independent learner. His study habits improved so much, that homework is no longer a chore and I am not struggling with him to get started. My daughter has displayed learning difficulties in a number of content areas, with math being the subject she had the most trouble with. After about 6 weeks in the program she earned her first B in math on her midterm progress report! I can't express how happy we are with this center and the teachers! She was recently diagnosed with ADHD, and she is gaining skills that she can use both at home and in the classroom that help her to focus.

We are thrilled with Kindness Creators!…read more They're a preschool located at the Oak Park Arms retirement community where the retired residents volunteer in the classroom and the kids go visit the residents who aren't physically able to come down. It's like my daughter has 50 grandparents watching over her at preschool and it is heart-warming to see the seniors light up around the kids. Jaime and Pam do a fantastic job educating our daughter. With more and more research highlighting how critical social skills are to kids' success in school, we were excited to see that the emphasis is on social/emotional and empathy. Since she's started school, our daughter has done a great job making friends at the park and dealing with disagreements. She's still a 4 year old, but it's fun to see her confidence grow. Of course, she's also getting great with her numbers and letters. There are a whole lot practical conveniences to Kindness Creators that are a great bonus. They are really flexible on their hours, you can have your kid go to preschool year round (if you like), they meet you outside for pick up and drop off which definitely saves time and the kids don't have to be potty trained when they start. Kindness Creators is great for my daughter with the added benefit of bringing a lot of joy to Oak Park's senior citizens.

Pam and Jaime are both early childhood certified, and have special ed and ESL endorsements, so they are very qualified to be teaching our kiddos. KC focuses on social/emotional development, which is why we have moved our son here this year rather than a traditional after-kindergarten program, since that is very important to us. The program is in a senior citizens home, so my kid gets to mingle with seniors, which is a win-win for everyone involved in my book. There are ice cream socials every Friday ;) In addition, there are education college students helping out in the classrooms as well as seniors from the center. It is well-run and I love that I get to spend as much time as I need every day talking to Pam and Jaime at pick up. I haven't found that anywhere else. We love it so much, we are transferring my other son here next year. I wish it had been around years ago when we first started in preschool!
