After pointing out the specials board, first they tried to tell me it wasn't on special and then after she physically went outside and read the board that THEY put out there, they said that was only for their frozen fish. I did not ending up purchasing the fish but called later just to see if their stories would stay consistent and they said over the phone that all flounder was $5.99/pound and that they would weigh it after the cleaned it. I then told her I was the same person who tried to purchase the flounder earlier on special and she still made up different stories about what I was trying to purchase vs what was on the specials board. Felt like they were trying to take advantage of a local because maybe they thought I was a tourist. Very disappointed and will be taking all my seafood business to Captain Jim's instead. Also, tried to purchase blue crabs last summer and after they checked, they were all dead from being too cold in their freezer. @Blue Ocean - do better!

You can choose the amount of fish you want (2lb or 4 lb), on a weekly or biweekly basis. You have the option to get your fish fileted or just headed/gutted. The options range from oysters, clams, snapper, mahi, flounder, bluefish, mullet, hard shell crab, soft shell crab and gorgeous shrimp! I believe I left off some of the varieties I have received but I think you get a pretty good idea. After three seasons I will continue to support this sustainable fishery. I think it is a great way to eat the way I want to in a way that is not environmentally detrimental. Also I don't have to leave Durham to get fresh fish on a weekly basis! Keep in mind if you consider joining that just like a CSA you pay at the beginning of the season trusting in your fishers to bring you the best they can. You do not get to select what you receive each week because it is based on water temperature, and fish in the area at that season. Some weeks the weather/water isn't permitting so they may move that delivery and add a week at the end of the season but I have been extremely satisfied.
