MadTree Parks & Rec - Buffalo cauliflower

    MadTree Parks & Rec

I hesitated to give it a try after reading some of these reviews about how great it was you could…read moresit and let your kids run rampant, and how great the staff is at dealing with running screaming kids. Then I thought okay it's mid week, lunch time, so I came in. I was limited on time, came in and ordered a pizza and a beer. Told the server she could serve it in the to go box since I had to go sooner than I would have liked. Service was friendly, prompt and she still checked on me after I had paid. Although the place was not busy, there was a large table with a baby and 2 pre schoolers. They were all well behaved, but still I'm always surprised that breweries are now for kids. I really liked the decor!

Parks and Rec is the 3rd Mad Tree location we've been to and even though we like the others a lot,…read morethis was our favorite. My husband was saying how much better it will be when we come back in the summer with the huge patio and all the garage doors open. I agreed, but I also think part of the reason we loved it so much was that even though it was a cold, gray February day, inside Parks and Rec had so much greenery and lots of windows so it felt summery inside! Our server was super friendly and went over the menu with us, telling us which items were most popular and which were his favorites. I got the peanut butter porter which was really good and hubby liked his s'mores stout as well. We split one of their huge pretzels which came with whole grain mustard and beer cheese...delish!! Then I got a 1/2 apple and pecan salad, which was more pecans, apples and dried cranberries than salad (and I mean that in the best way!) My husband let me try one of his chicken wings which had a nice spice to it. We were very pleasantly surprised at how great our whole experience was because the reviews were pretty mixed but honestly, it was a great visit from start to finish. Highly recommend!

The Centennial Barn - The view inside of the church next to the barn

    The Centennial Barn

This place is GORGEOUS! I had actually been to this facility for a YELP event years ago not even…read morerealizing that it is connected to a church. The parish that the Centennial Barn is connected to is a small Catholic parish that really does try to help the needy while serving their congregation. They even take in older people who are not able to take care of themselves. The Centennial Barn is actually a ministry of the church, as it brings in money to help support the overall budget of the parish. However, you don't have to be a part of the church to rent it for a function or even a wedding. The inside of the barn is really cool! It has strung white lights all over the inside, as well as white trim and big red doors that give the barn a classy but country feel. There are bathrooms on the first floor, as well as the second. There are stairs to the second floor with several rooms off of the main level that provide spots to have people dancing or serve food. The backyard of the barn is open with some room outside to have a live band or even some dancing. There is a cemetery in the back of the property.... but it is not really that noticeable. It doesn't take away from the feel of the barn -- but it is something to note.

We recently had a Baby Meet and Greet at Shevier Hall. It was originally supposed to be a baby…read moreshower however due to the world circumstances we had to cancel it twice. Finally we were able to share our precious first grandbaby, now toddler. The staff were so kind and great at explaining the venue. The venue was perfect for our crowd of about 30. We HIGHLY reccommend this venue! Thanks Nate Pucke and staff for your support during and after the event to make sure everything went smoothly and hope to visit you again. We all agree it was a 5 star event! even David Michael, our little professor grandson!
