Have purchased from Blue Nile in the past, but always completely on-line. So as we were beginning the process of diamond shopping, decided to make the long(er) trek down to Fashion Island. We made an appointment on-line, and got periodic reminders via email so we wouldn't forget. Marie was our salesperson, and she walked us through an education and how Blue Nile on-line works with this retail presence. -- it's a showroom, with most of the diamonds they sell on-line. The same visibility, real -time inventory is available to both associates and customers, using the same interface. In fact, Marie used a touchscreen tablet to walk us through the inventory. -- all loose diamonds are GIA graded, with appropriate paperwork -- if close by, this location is a nice place to get your purchased jewelry to be cleaned and maintained, just like a regular full-service jeweler -- all custom jewelry is made off-site, with the stores using a central location to do the work. -- a 48 hour hold can be placed on diamonds, during which time decisions can be made. -- cash sales via bank wire will save 1.5% -- they have a generous, return-for-any-reason policy. read more

I had a wonderful experience having my jewelry replaced and serviced at this Blue Nile location. I was able to make an appointment online and the whole process was very simple and easy. I parked my car right by Restoration Hardware and went up the escalator to visit. The store was clean and very inviting. Unbelievable it's actually dog-friendly too with water bowls and treats right by the door! I was able to receive help picking out the replacement jewelry piece and also had all of my items serviced/ cleaned on the spot. Previously, the serviced items needed to be mailed in and I had to wait for weeks for them to return. No such thing anymore because I can just bring the pieces in for cleaning. I love seeing all of my jewelry super clean and sparkly every time! So exciting every single time. I was feeling apprehensive about having the replacement piece get mailed home so I opted into having it shipped to store for pickup. This made sense to me for security and also easier to return or exchange on the spot. My item arrived faster than anticipated and pickup was a breeze. I haven't stopped marveling at the scintillating sparkler. I thought the deal was great too using the online promotion. I wouldn't hesitate recommending the Blue Nile store for their wonderful customer service and bridging the gap between the online and store presence. I certainly benefited from their service and I hope you do, too. read more

My girlfriend and I stopped in to look at engagement rings. We honestly didn't know much about diamonds or what we were even looking for. However, from the moment we walked through the door, we were welcomed by Marie. She was incredibly kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Marie took the time to educate us, patiently answered all of our questions. By the end of our visit, we had a clear understanding of exactly what type of diamond and band we wanted. Thank you, Marie, for making what could have been an intimidating experience feel easy and enjoyable. We appreciate you! read more

They have good selection at the store if you wanted to see something in person size wise. We made a reservation so we can order a couple of natural diamond rings and although we were greeted in the beginning, the attitude was not the best. It was almost like they didn't expect us to really buy anything and did not want to waste their precious time. Finally, when we are getting ready to finalize our orders and get ready to pay, they asked us if we wanted to seat and if we would care for some water. The smiles on their faces were suddenly friendly and not forced. read more

Waste of time! We arrived for our appointment & were made to wait in line, outside over 60 minutes. We weren't even next in line by the time our 3:30-4:30 appointment was over. Zero acknowledgment from the staff. We left and went to Diamond Wish down the street and had a VIP experience. Spend your money elsewhere on something personal not bulk manufactured. read more

One of my friends recommended Blue Nile & I was glad that I've found my beautiful ring here. The show room is located at Fashion Island. I was hesitant to go in at first because the showroom is small & I was planning to check out other jewelry stores. To my surprise, we ended up spending an hour here with Philippa. She's very knowledgeable about diamonds & willing to show us different diamond rings that would fit our budget. She gave good advice & not pushy like. She emailed me some of the rings that I picked so I have more time to decide on the one that I really like. I ordered my ring & it was ready in 2 weeks. I would totally recommend Philippa at Blue Nile Fashion Island. read more

Hi. I am very disappointed and frustrated with the service. I bought a French Pave Diamond Eternity Ring in clearance which was supposed to be 50%off. After I bought it few hours later I found the same ring (with better clarity diamonds and wider band) for $150 more from the price I paid. When I asked via chat about the difference I got multiple excuses about manufacturing, and timing etc which did not make much sense to me. I tried to cancel the order but the ring was shipped couple of minutes after the purchase so I was not able to. Now because I bought the ring from the clearance then I am not allowed to change or get my money back. I received the ring and unfortunately is too big. So I immediately start the process to change it for the right size (can't be resize), also the appraisal on the order states the ring value of $3500 but the appraisal I received with the ring is for $1800. Again chatting with the "expert" Sydney T she said the appraisal I received was the wrong one (which makes absolutely no sense so se the information about the ring is exactly the same). Now they do not have the same ring the size I need and because it was bought on sale they can not exchanged because it will mess up the inventory, and the mkt thing I can do is go to a showroom and see if they can resized. Bottom line at this point DO NOT TRUST Blue Nile not the sales or the appraisal! To me it is just a scam to get your money. If needed I have evidence of all of the above. read more

Very disappointed in the service: They sent us damaged product "as new". Asked for a replacement they just repaired it (we know because damage is still in place but "considerably less obvious"). Had to drive back here 2 times from San Diego to resolve this (the drive is beautiful so that part is nice). One person working seemed openly annoyed that we actually expected the product we bought to be new. Also clearly annoyed that we asked them verify the certification ID for the diamonds they were giving to us after the "repair". They made it see like it was so much extra work to confirm this for us (they literally could have given us anything and without verifying there is no way to be sure). The value of the product was high enough that we kept the jewelry but won't be back for anything else. read more

Absolutely awful company. Avoid at all costs. I ordered a diamond hoop earring in mid-December and didn't receive it until mid-January. When it arrived, it was obviously much smaller than advertised. Their website lists the size as 12.7 mm, but the actual earring measured under 9 mm. That's not a minor discrepancy, it's false advertising. Customer service was beyond terrible. The representative was rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping. Their only response was essentially, "Return it and get a refund." I returned the item immediately. Three weeks later, no refund. When I followed up, customer service gave me conflicting excuses, first claiming refunds take 7-10 days, then changing the story to 3-4 weeks. Clearly, they have no idea what they're doing or are intentionally delaying refunds. This company wastes your time, misrepresents their products, and makes getting your money back a painful process. Save yourself the frustration and shop literally anywhere else. read more

As a would've already been fiance, I was heartbroken to hear that my ring was lost/stolen at the hands of UPS... the blue Nile website clearly states that a ring can be placed on hold at UPS for 5 days.... within a day, it was returned to sender, sent again to UPS, signed for from someone working at UPS named "Mike" and somehow they lost it!! Blue Nile has done enough to help, and even had my partner file the police report himself even though it was never in his posesion. This is extremely irresponsible of Blue Nile and we hope things can be made right after the investigation. Blue Nile/UPS has ruined what was supposed to be a special experience. It would've been nice to be provided with a solution, given that my bf wanted to propose on our recent vacation. For their "high end luxury service" , you would think they'd provide better customer service.. I hope my partner gets a refund in a timely manner. I suggest shopping for engagement rings elsewhere to avoid a heartbreaking experience like this. read more

I'm surprised this company is still in business as they're corrupt. I've an engagement and wedding ring that I've been wearing everyday for 30 years and it's still in excellent condition. I also have a cheap $100 ring Ive worn everyday for five years and it too is still in good condition. My husband bought me a $10,000 diamond eternity band from Blue Nile that I didn't wear everyday and it snapped in half in under two years! It just snapped in two while I was sitting in a chair! I assumed they'd fix it but they refused to fix it! They said an eternity band can't be fixed. When I got the ring I told my husband the gold felt like plastic, the diamonds were pretty but the ring was over priced but it was a gift and had great meaning. For Blue Nile to not honor the purchase by fixing it is shocking to me. $10,000!! I would never want anyone to risk losing their money by buying anything from this company. And they show no concern what so ever about this situation. They say someone will call you back but no one does, no apology, no remedy- it's outrageous! Truly unbelievable to me. I would think no one would want to risk throwing their money and important memento away by buying anything from these criminals (they're are genuinely criminals - I think somewhere they advertise a lifetime guarantee on their jewelry.) PLEASE DON'T RISK YOUR MONEY BY GIVING IT TO BLUE NILE !!!! Go to the jewelry district and get something twice as good for the same money. read more

Amir at Blue Nile Newport is the only jeweler you will ever need to talk to when buying an engagement ring. I absolutely HATE shopping and knew virtually nothing about finding a beautiful, yet affordable engagement ring. Amir made this process easy, painless, and actually enjoyable. Amir spent 1.5-2 hours walking us through cut, clarity, color, and other characteristics of the diamond and band, and cleverly created an opportunity to discuss pricing with me alone. Amir timely followed up to make changes to our order when the original band we selected was not available, as well as checking for any applicable discounts and sales before purchase. Blue Nile was our first stop for an engagement ring, and should have been our last. We double checked other stores, but ultimately just wasted our time. No other jeweler could hold a candle to Amir's knowledge, patience, or customer service. While I absolutely preferred knowing that Amir was not paid on commission while shopping, he absolutely deserves a commission/bonus for going above and beyond to help us find the perfect ring. read more

We were promised our engagement ring December 27th. After that day came and went we were told it would ship 29th. Once again, nothing. We have our engagement party tonight (Dec 31) with no ring and no update on when it will arrive. We were completely disappointed and mislead on timing. What a terrible thing for this business to ruin our special day. They also don't seem to have a care in the world this happened. I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere to avoid being disappointed like we are. read more

I have purchased from Blue Nile several times. On my most recent purchase I was offered 12 Mos interest free. Being the holidays I accepted. My first payment of almost 1000.00 dollars was not posted. It was sent out by Wells Fargo and documented. I have responded with proof of cancelled check and also personal bank statement showing they received the money. If I call it goes overseas. This has been going on since early Jan. Blue Nile and Comenity Bank have caused my credit score to drop 20 pts and have obviously not looked at all they have been given as proof of payment. All they do is continue sending a form letter stating no adjustment.aybe time for an attorney. read more

Blue Nile - Another crazy form letter proving they don't look at evidence of payment. - Jewelry Near Me - Newport Beach, California

I would NOT recommend shopping here as the staff is not adequately trained to measure ring sizes, and they didn't seem to have too many rings available to look at either. Ultimately it caused much drama and stress in the days leading up to our wedding that were completely avoidable if the staff were more competent. My husband and I stopped by to check out a wedding band and get his ring finger measured. The salesperson (Conrad Merkel) measured his finger as 7.5, and it was a hot summer day so we figured that should be the upper limit of his ring size. Unfortunately they also didn't have the ring we were interested for us to actually look at. We ordered the ring to Oregon where our wedding was and it arrived right before our wedding day. However, the ring didn't fit my husband at all! We couldn't even squeeze it on if we had iced his finger. So we called the main Blue Nile line in a complete panic a few days before our wedding and they were able to rush out a completely different ring (since they couldn't rush over the one we wanted) in size 8.0 which we were able to squeeze on his finger just for the ceremony (but still was a very tight fit). After the wedding, we went to a different Blue Nile store in the Bay Area (closer to our home) and the salespeople measured him saying his ring size is actually 8.5-9!! He hadn't gained any weight (in fact had lost some weight for the wedding) in the interim so their conclusion was that the initial sales group at this Blue Nile had completely messed up in their measurements. Would definitely recommend going elsewhere for your ring or jewelry shopping! read more

With everything in me, I beg you not to buy your jewelry here. Their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. I've had better experiences finding my order and communicating with service reps from SHEIN than Blue Nile. I recently purchased an engagement ring from Blue Nile in Newport Beach and I couldn't have been happier with the process or my salesperson, Cy Fergusson. Cy was extremely knowledgeable, made himself available by cellphone for additional questions after our appointment, and provided what I considered to be fair guidance and service. For example, Cy recommended a less expensive (but stronger) ring option that was better suited for the type of diamond I was purchasing. I can't imagine going anywhere other than Blue Nile for diamonds simply because of their incredible (online) selection. I could be sure I was selecting the best available. Also, Blue Nile provided very detailed shipping updates and they ship quick! Our ring resizing was estimated to take 2-3 weeks but was back in the store within 10 days. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Rude sales people not helpful can't even get a return call from a supervisor. Won't bend on one day past their 30 day exchange policy. Do yourself a favor and buy from your own Jeweler because the quality and service was AWFUL!!!!! read more

The designs are nice and simple, but the operations in the store are pathetic. They don't have individual ring sizes to try on. Instead, they have full and half ring sizes all attaches on a big loop so when you try on one size, you have the weight of 30+ rings. I found it super weird that they don't have individual sizes, even in a cheaper metal. I've been to this store 3 times and every time the staff has had problems operating the devices to look up items, previous orders, process returns, etc. I'm disappointed that their in store experience is so abysmal because I really wanted a wedding band that matches my engagement ring. read more

AWFUL experience. We went in store to purchase a ring - sales associate guaranteed we would have it by the needed date. Their shipping department made a mistake and it was sent back to their warehouse. First off Justin Allen Richardson is the man. Before I even purchased anything I went into the store and spoke with Justin on two different occasions, each was purely educational for myself but in that time that I spent with Justin I became quite knowledgeable and shopped around the other big names we all probably have been browsing. I ended up buying my fiancés engagement ring at Blue Nile for one reason only. Justin and the team were exceptional in the service they delivered. They are the complete opposite of the encounters of the other big brand jewelry stores with the high pressure of needing to buy today. Some of these negative reviews are crazy to me. I cant speak for others but the first two times I showed up I was in board shorts a t-shirt &flip flops and every time I was greeted or I just browsed until someone was available. Weekends are kind of crazy with a lot of people shopping around and browsing. I cannot thank Justin enough for his commitment to making sure I had picked out the perfect ring. He was extremely patient and spent many hours over the span of a few months and I never felt rushed nor pressured. read more

I am beyond thrilled with my entire experience at Blue Nile. All of the employees are very friendly and helpful. My husband and I recently upgraded my engagement ring for our anniversary and everything about the purchase was easy and relaxing. Philippa took the time to show us everything we wanted to see, and gave genuine recommendations for what would complement my hand the best, even if it was a smaller/cheaper ring. The ring she helped us select is absolutely perfect. She was very knowledgeable and detailed, even down to the ring sizing where she showed that the even the rings I've been wearing are slightly too big. The turn around time for ordering was 2 weeks and it was 100% worth the wait. We are very happy with our choice to shop at Blue Nile and will be stopping in regularly for their complimentary cleaning services. read more

Our sales consultant was Marc B and he was so attentive and professional. He would receive 5 stars. However, that's where the fun stopped. The order took over 3 weeks to ship. Ok. That's fine, we knew that when we ordered the earrings. BUT, the earrings were lost and we received them several days after when they were supposed to arrive. We waited at the home every day because we were told they were arriving by customer service and had to be signed for. Then on top of that, the person on the phone with the British accent was rude and outright lied to us. We still have never received a call back as promised. If my $8,000+ earrings wouldn't have been as nice as they are, I would have returned them because of the lies. Deal with a local jeweler instead. You may pay a little more, but it is worth it. read more

Warning!!! For a high-end Jeweler they have the worst customer service. Order a ring showed up 3 weeks late. One delay after another. Blue Nile Fashion Island, Newport vs. Tiffany Santa Monica: I had a great experience at Blue Nile Fashion Island with Tara and Amir. They showed me a bunch of rings and I had such a fun time. They really know their stuff. I've bought a floating diamond ring from Blue Nile before and love it. No diamonds have fallen out in over 3 years that I've had it, and it's still shiny and gorgeous. While I was there, they cleaned my ring for me and checked it, then they even gave me a cleaner for free - that's what I call service! What they didn't know was that it was my birthday that day, so that was a very nice surprise. In comparison - here's my experience at Tiffany: My husband bought me a beautiful solitaire engagement ring there, I had always wanted one from Tiffany and initially had a lovely experience there. Not even 3 years later, the diamond fell out of the crown (thankfully I found the stone). I was very surprised and disappointed, and took it in to the store we bought it at. The clearly unknowledgeable store associate (they seem to have different ones now), told me that it was probably due to my having soaked the ring in water with Ivory dish liquid and having cleaned it with a baby toothbrush. (This was what the sales person had told me to do when we bought the ring, as they didn't have any cleaner at the time!) I regularly took it in 1-2x a year for cleaning at Tiffany too, where they supposedly check the prongs, but obviously didn't. The store manager seemed to not care, but sent it in for repair. Imagine my surprise when they told me the entire crown needed to be replaced and the cost would be $500! There was no visible damage to the prongs that I could see when I took it in, I believe the crown was faulty from the get-go. Needless to say, Tiffany lost a customer. Blue Nile has beautiful rings and knowledgeable staff with friendly service. It's not just about the rings, it's also about the positive experience. Thank you Tara and Amir for making me feel special. I'll be back! read more

I was so impressed by Blue Nile of Newport Beach, and specifically Alex the (ALL STAR) sales associate I dealt with, I was compelled to write this A+ review. Simply put, if you would like to buy quality jewelry at competitive prices with a knowledgeable and helpful sales person I strongly encourage you to reach out to Alex at Blue Nile. I happen to live up in the Los Angeles area, and even though their Century City and Glendale locations are closer to me, I will gladly drive down (or call) to get the service Alex provides. Yes, she is that good. I suspect Blue Nile earned their reputation as diamond providers, but in addition to diamonds they have other quality pieces for both women and men. Alex is very helpful in making suggestions and helping decide between options that are age appropriate for the recipient. She never tries to "up-sell" and will always work to meet/exceed your expectations with the "best value" option. Go see her. Tell her Tom sent you. You won't be disappointed. Thanks again Alex!!! read more
