I had a wonderful experience having my jewelry replaced and serviced at this Blue Nile location. I was able to make an appointment online and the whole process was very simple and easy. I parked my car right by Restoration Hardware and went up the escalator to visit. The store was clean and very inviting. Unbelievable it's actually dog-friendly too with water bowls and treats right by the door! I was able to receive help picking out the replacement jewelry piece and also had all of my items serviced/ cleaned on the spot. Previously, the serviced items needed to be mailed in and I had to wait for weeks for them to return. No such thing anymore because I can just bring the pieces in for cleaning. I love seeing all of my jewelry super clean and sparkly every time! So exciting every single time. Hi. I am very disappointed and frustrated with the service. I bought a French Pave Diamond Eternity Ring in clearance which was supposed to be 50%off. After I bought it few hours later I found the same ring (with better clarity diamonds and wider band) for $150 more from the price I paid. When I asked via chat about the difference I got multiple excuses about manufacturing, and timing etc which did not make much sense to me. I tried to cancel the order but the ring was shipped couple of minutes after the purchase so I was not able to. Now because I bought the ring from the clearance then I am not allowed to change or get my money back. I received the ring and unfortunately is too big. So I immediately start the process to change it for the right size (can't be resize), also the appraisal on the order states the ring value of $3500 but the appraisal I received with the ring is for $1800. Again chatting with the "expert" Sydney T she said the appraisal I received was the wrong one (which makes absolutely no sense so se the information about the ring is exactly the same). Now they do not have the same ring the size I need and because it was bought on sale they can not exchanged because it will mess up the inventory, and the mkt thing I can do is go to a showroom and see if they can resized. Absolutely awful company. Avoid at all costs. I ordered a diamond hoop earring in mid-December and didn't receive it until mid-January. When it arrived, it was obviously much smaller than advertised. Their website lists the size as 12.7 mm, but the actual earring measured under 9 mm. That's not a minor discrepancy, it's false advertising. Customer service was beyond terrible. The representative was rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping. Their only response was essentially, "Return it and get a refund." I returned the item immediately. Three weeks later, no refund. When I followed up, customer service gave me conflicting excuses, first claiming refunds take 7-10 days, then changing the story to 3-4 weeks. Clearly, they have no idea what they're doing or are intentionally delaying refunds. This company wastes your time, misrepresents their products, and makes getting your money back a painful process. Very disappointed in the service: They sent us damaged product "as new". Asked for a replacement they just repaired it (we know because damage is still in place but "considerably less obvious"). Had to drive back here 2 times from San Diego to resolve this (the drive is beautiful so that part is nice). Also clearly annoyed that we asked them verify the certification ID for the diamonds they were giving to us after the "repair". As a would've already been fiance, I was heartbroken to hear that my ring was lost/stolen at the hands of UPS... the blue Nile website clearly states that a ring can be placed on hold at UPS for 5 days.... within a day, it was returned to sender, sent again to UPS, signed for from someone working at UPS named "Mike" and somehow they lost it!! Blue Nile has done enough to help, and even had my partner file the police report himself even though it was never in his posesion. This is extremely irresponsible of Blue Nile and we hope things can be made right after the investigation. Blue Nile/UPS has ruined what was supposed to be a special experience. It would've been nice to be provided with a solution, given that my bf wanted to propose on our recent vacation. For their "high end luxury service" , you would think they'd provide better customer service.. I hope my partner gets a refund in a timely manner. I would NOT recommend shopping here as the staff is not adequately trained to measure ring sizes, and they didn't seem to have too many rings available to look at either. Ultimately it caused much drama and stress in the days leading up to our wedding that were completely avoidable if the staff were more competent. The salesperson (Conrad Merkel) measured his finger as 7.5, and it was a hot summer day so we figured that should be the upper limit of his ring size. Unfortunately they also didn't have the ring we were interested for us to actually look at. We ordered the ring to Oregon where our wedding was and it arrived right before our wedding day. However, the ring didn't fit my husband at all! We couldn't even squeeze it on if we had iced his finger. So we called the main Blue Nile line in a complete panic a few days before our wedding and they were able to rush out a completely different ring (since they couldn't rush over the one we wanted) in size 8.0 which we were able to squeeze on his finger just for the ceremony (but still was a very tight fit). After the wedding, we went to a different Blue Nile store in the Bay Area (closer to our home) and the salespeople measured him saying his ring size is actually 8.5-9!! He hadn't gained any weight (in fact had lost some weight for the wedding) in the interim so their conclusion was that the initial sales group at this Blue Nile had completely messed up in their measurements. Instead, they have full and half ring sizes all attaches on a big loop so when you try on one size, you have the weight of 30+ rings. Blue Nile Fashion Island, Newport vs. Tiffany Santa Monica: I had a great experience at Blue Nile Fashion Island with Tara and Amir. They showed me a bunch of rings and I had such a fun time. They really know their stuff. I've bought a floating diamond ring from Blue Nile before and love it. No diamonds have fallen out in over 3 years that I've had it, and it's still shiny and gorgeous. While I was there, they cleaned my ring for me and checked it, then they even gave me a cleaner for free - that's what I call service! What they didn't know was that it was my birthday that day, so that was a very nice surprise. In comparison - here's my experience at Tiffany: My husband bought me a beautiful solitaire engagement ring there, I had always wanted one from Tiffany and initially had a lovely experience there. Not even 3 years later, the diamond fell out of the crown (thankfully I found the stone). I was very surprised and disappointed, and took it in to the store we bought it at. The clearly unknowledgeable store associate (they seem to have different ones now), told me that it was probably due to my having soaked the ring in water with Ivory dish liquid and having cleaned it with a baby toothbrush. (This was what the sales person had told me to do when we bought the ring, as they didn't have any cleaner at the time!) I regularly took it in 1-2x a year for cleaning at Tiffany too, where they supposedly check the prongs, but obviously didn't. The store manager seemed to not care, but sent it in for repair. Imagine my surprise when they told me the entire crown needed to be replaced and the cost would be $500! There was no visible damage to the prongs that I could see when I took it in, I believe the crown was faulty from the get-go. Needless to say, Tiffany lost a customer. Blue Nile has beautiful rings and knowledgeable staff with friendly service. It's not just about the rings, it's also about the positive experience.
