Room at the Blue Mountain Inn

My opinion of Blue Mountain may be a bit skewed as my stay here recently was part of an all-company offsite in which we booked out most of the resort, and all of our activities were pre-arranged for us. The resort itself is quite large, operates year-round, and has a number of different activates to do regardless of the season you choose to visit. As we came in September, anything skiing and snow-related was obviously not an option. But they still have a large number of activities to do including but not limited to: a high-rope course, zip-lining, wall-climbing, canopy net climb, mini-golf, mountain coaster and a paddle-quad on the pond. We unfortunately stayed during a brief period of rain at Blue Mountain, so sadly was limited to the amount of outdoor activities we could cram in. I did wind up doing the canopy net climb, but really wish I had enough time for the zip-lining and mountain coaster. They have a very large conference center which surprisingly was able to host all 850 of us in a single room. And despite the large crowd, the bathrooms were maintained in spotless condition every time I had to use them. There's quite a few restaurants and bars located in the Village. Of all the ones I tried, I highly recommend the drinks at Mother Tongue and the food at Firehall Pizza (their tiramisu was a huge hit with the whole group). While we were all spread out with different lodging accommodations throughout the property, I was assigned to stay at the Blue Mountain Inn. Which happens to be one of the farthest occupancies from the Village and Conference Center. The Blue Mountain Inn looks a bit older in overall decor, but is very clean, has very spacious rooms, and housekeeping does a really great job cleaning and restocking the rooms every day. There is thankfully a shuttle that takes you around the property, including from the Inn. Unfortunately, it does not run in the morning. So a 10-15min walk is needed to reach the Village during the earlier hours.

2025-02-23. Blue Mountain Resorts. Collingwood, ON. Blue Mountain has pretty much transformed itself to be southern Ontario's "olympic village". With resort accommodations, dining, and shopping, all in a small village vibe. They have all the real Canadian classics from Beaver Tails and Poutine, to Nanaimo bars and iced maple syrup. Over the years, Blue Mountain has really upped their game and a considerable amount of money was invested in making it what it is today. Of course, all this comes at a premium costs for us as well. Things are NOT cheap here, and I think most have come to accept it. I would say it's southern Ontario's premier ski & snowboard slopes. Although Mt. Saint Louis just introduced heated seats! We'll see how long it is before Blue does the same (I say by next season...) If You would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company... Bon Appétit!

Whistler version but smaller. Lots of shops to visits and buy amazing stuffs. The place offers a lot, sport minded expectators will surely enjoy this place, parking is huge and its free thats one advantage comparing to our Whistler here in BC. Many restaurants and coffe shop too.,gondola is available for those who wants a little adventure, a ride for people to see and take nice photos up the mountain. Very clean and well maintained Morethan 2 hours drive from downtown Toronto but I believed worth the trip because the scenery along the way are really spectacular. Wineries and fruit stands are plenty along theway, gas station as well. Accepting cash, debit and credit cards..all washrooms in the park is immaculately clean. Peacefull place if you wanna get away from traffic and noise in the city. They are usually hosting events and festivals, the hotel accomodation is a bit pricey. In total I enjoyed my stay, captured so many pictures and very pleasant experimce well deserved to be added in precious events in my life memories.

Hmmm. I visited in September, so I can't give you feedback on what it is like during ski season or the height of summer. For me, it is one of those places you go once, but probably don't go back to again. Why? Well it has that overbearingly tourist-trappy feel to it. And of course the prices are jacked up quite a bit. That being said it could be a fun place to spend a few hours, and possibly longer if you get a pass for the rides or try out their mountain biking trails. We arrived around at nearly 3pm, so it did not make sense to buy a pass for the rides, but they did look very interesting, and I would possibly come back to give them a try. The mountain coaster and the gondola ride looked particularly fun. I don't enjoy mountain biking, but I was told they had a trail ride along the ride that made use of flatter trails for regular biking. Unfortunately they were not offering it on the day I was there. I think many people would enjoy visiting the place, as long as they approach it with the same mindset you do when going to Disneyland or Great America, that mindset where you know you are going to pay a bit more than you want to, but you will probably have some good fun.

Tyrolean Village would have almost been a 4 or 5 star review for me, however, there were a few…read morethings that could have been better. To be honest, a good reason it might not have been the nicest experience is because we got a smaller cottage that is not as well maintained or properly cleaned as some of the nicer ones in the area. In terms of location, the location was great and easy to reach. Could not have asked for a better place and a resort to really chill and bond with family. We were a group of 6 people and the cottage could have easily accommodate close to 8 people, if not up o 10. Location was good, employees were nice......so what is wrong with that you might ask me? Well, for starters, it seems like the cottage that we took place and were part of, one of the rooms had mice poo under the bed. The reason we knew that was because we moved the beds a bit as it was slanted to one side and hence, needed to be properly fixed so that we can sleep comfortably. When my cousin and I went to fix as well as take a look in more detail as to what has happened to one of the stands that supported the bed, we realized, that there was quite the amount of dirt and poo located underneath the place where our bed was supposed to be. As I said, it must have been a one off and hence, I really hate to give this place a bad review, but that portion of the experience was really disturbing to us and not an experience I believe to be on worth giving it a 4 star just due to the fact that the location and employees were good. Hopefully, in the future, the experience can turn to be a positive one and will improve from here on out.

(who expects a blackout?) anyhow for a special getaway its a great place.

They all have the same cookie cutter layout. The Resort is just off the main road, so it isn't so hard to find. It's sorta easy to get in and out of. There's a spot where the street narrows a bit, but that doesn't bother me at all. Parking spots are plentiful, and the people who run the place keep the streets tidy from the snow. They even have people shovel snow off in the morning as well. We had the back units, so it's a teeny tiny bit of a walk from the streets. I really don't mind that either, because after we were settled, we were pretty much good to go. Plus were able to cook our own food. Which means,, thrifty vacay!! Location is key, and being right next to the slopes is super awesome. Just wake up, walk over, buy tickets and enjoy snowboarding. God truly makes an awesome planet.

I've…read morecome here in both the summer and winter, and there are always plenty of fun things to do. Meandering through the caves and caverns is the main highlight in the summer (as well as spring and fall). All caves and caverns follow a structured path, and everything is clearly well marked. They also have mini golf, gemstone mining, hiking trails, and adventure playground for the warmer months. In the winter, it's great for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sauna. They have a nordic pro shop where you can purchase or rent equipment. The gift shop, which doubles as a small cafe selling hot drinks and snacks, also carries winter activity essentials, ranging from base layers to gloves and toques. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We rented their snowshoes, and they were of excellent quality (with spikes at the bottom to help crush ice, which became very helpful as the trails were quite icy that day). The snowshoe trails are mostly loops and very clearly well marked - it's impossible to get lost.

But the day we went was on and off rain, and it turns out the train is battery/electric run so it does not operate unless the ground is completely dry. Wish we would have known this beforehand as the entry fee is kind of hefty if the one thing your kid was excited for didn't end up operating. They require closed toe hiking or running shoes to enter. The suspension bridge trail and the caves trail were really neat. If you have a toddler 2 or under you might need to carry them part of the caves trail as there are some tricky slippery spots. The suspension bridge trail is much easier and you get a great view from the bridge. The playground is big and fun. You can also buy fish food (25 cents) to feed the fish, though you're more likely to get gulls fighting over the fish food than to see any fish. We did see a big trout though which was neat! Besides the train not operating, and the kind of cold and wet weather, this would have been a great summer day activity. They let you bring your own food inside to have a picnic. And once you get your wristband you have in and out privileges all day which was nice. We wiuld have enjoyed this more if it was warmer and not raining.

Amazing location! Ski in, ski out, right in the village and all the action. We had a loft suite…read moreroom and it was perfect for our family of four. Parking garage was great. Hot tub and other amenities were on point. Never waited longer than a minute for an elevator. Staff was attentive and while they were busy, they definitely all deserve five stars. We would definitely stay here again. With that said a few things of note: 1. We were never told about the ski lockers or provided our combo for the lock. Perhaps a newbie ski family mistake for not assuming, but also frustrating. 2. I had called about clearance height for vehicles as we wanted to use our Thule on our SUV. The front desk was not much help. Had we known there is a valet lot for vehicles with rooftop boxes, we would have done it for the nominal fee. As I am sure many parents can relate, driving in a snow storm when you can't see out the rear is not fun... roof box solves that. 3. The restaurant on site is lackluster. Service is on point; however, food is just alright and pricey, it is chaotic, and why in the heck only "reservations get window seats" is a policy is beyond any family we spoke to. All these awesome window tables looking at the village and lake that go empty because "walk ins" are subjected to interior seating despite all those tables being empty our entire dining session is beyond me. This isn't Manhattan. 4. The restaurant bar, given how nice the rest of of the hotel is, looked pretty sad. You could see all the shelf lighting was defunct, it looked tired and not well kept. As a business owner myself, and for how front and center the bar area is, my gosh keep it tidy, lit up, and gleaming with some pizzaz. Thankfully for those of us with older kids it is open until midnight, and once again the staff is Johnny on the spot, but geez it has seen better days. I realize it sounds silly, but this hotel is pretty awesome and with the large lobby the bar area should be the North Star, not something I look at and wonder "are they closed already?"
