On St. Anthony's Outpatient Physical Therapy (SAOPT): A bunch of money grubbers who are more…read moreconcerned with expending all your insurance than making you well. You will likely be referred to them if you go to the St. Anthony hospital or urgent care center, but there are other PTs in town, so look around. At the SAOPT, they will be super nice and accommodating - as long as you have insurance and timely referrals, but if you have to become a self-pay patient or there's interruption in your referrals or payment - watch out! You won't get the care you need or they will use YOUR PT time and their own therapists to preach to you about your insurance and billing - even if you don't owe them any money you will be treated like a deadbeat! I'm not kidding, it's a night and day experience. The only nice therapist there that's not obsessed with billing is Ashley. Avoid Paul, he tries to rush and push you through therapy, which might be good if you have minor injuries or are young, but woe to you if you are older or really hurting. April knows her stuff but is a mouthpiece for the billing/administration staff - she's more apt to waste your time preaching about payment - again, even when you don't owe them anything!!! April also bills higher than the other therapists but usually spends less time with you. They bill like lawyers, if you go over an 8 minute stretch with them, they will bill you for 15 minutes. Also, you will NOT have continuity of care here as I did not find one therapist who works all 5 days of the week (they also sub-contract with temporary, travelling PTs - it's like a revolving door). So, you will have trouble if you need to do physical therapy 3 days a week (as they want you to rest a day between sessions). To illustrate the money grubbing - for each PT, they have at about 2 administrators/billing folks - especially as they use the main St. Anthony's billing office in addition to their administrative staff. So, you can see the bias in the staffing - they are clearly more concerned with getting money than treating patients. Last, their office is often loud with music on TV monitors, PTs speaking about inane subjects or confidential client information that you can overhear, and the carpet is filthy.
