Blue Moon Bakery made our wedding cake. We are from Texas and had a small intimate wedding in Dillon/Frisco, CO. Being from out of town and not really knowing the area or local vendors, I admit I was a little nervous. The cake far exceeded our expectations!!! From the decorating to the texture/flavor! It was fabulous!!! Our top layer was their pumpkin/spice with cream cheese filling and our bottom layer was their almond with fresh fruit filling! This bakery has become a staple for me for I-70 corridor ski trips. They open early, there are many baked goods (especially bagels), the food is delicious, and it's reasonably priced. The only drawback is that it is small and seating is limited. They have updated the seating area since I've been coming here so there are a couple more seats. On good snow days, the line is out the door so if you're in a rush it's better to just go to McDonald's down the street. Bottom line: get here early, get the goods, and you're good to go! read more

Had the breakfast burrito. Reasonable price but this was the worst breakfast burrito that I've had in recent memory. Poorly wrapped, the eggs were way overcooked, and the cheese was bunched up on one end. However, the baked goods looked delicious and I'll have to go back again to try something else. read more

I sure enjoyed hitting this place up after a short-day on the slopes (they close at 4pm) or if I get up to the summit early enough for a quick bite to eat before I got my runs in. This is the spot to go for a great breakfast sandwich. Easy access off I-70 on your way to keystone, breck or copper. They have awesome lunch options and a really good selection of baked goods. There are six types you can choose from for your sandwich, all of which they bake right there, we had The Dakota for our Chicken salad sandwich which was to die for. I get the ski town vibe, I lived within 3 miles of Blue Moon for 6 years. But the attitude from the servers sets the tone for a dining experience no matter where your are. Lived throughout Summit County for the past 6 years and have been going since I moved here. Blue moon bakery probably has the best baked goods in Summit!! Though, Over the past year I have stopped going there due to the cleanliness of the place going down hill. The back of the restaurant is clearly dirty and not kept up with and most the young women that work there look like they just rolled out of bed and threw a hoodie on. But the last couple times I've been there were really disappointing. So much so that it motivated to write this and hope that they rectify the situation. Why 2 stars? It's the cheese. I love this little bakery tucked away in Silverthorne's main Summit Place shopping center. Before we hit the road for our fly fishing trip, we ran into Blue Moon for a quick lunch. My eyes bugged out when the bakery cases overflowing with goodies beckoned me as soon as I walked through the door. The sandwich menu was also very impressive. Best of all, there were plenty GF and vegan options for those of us who need those things. I got the chicken chipotle sandwich, the 2nd most popular sandwich on the menu. The first we were told is the turkey avocado. I chose to get the GF honey oatmeal bread which was probably the one thing I wasn't that impressed with. It tasted great but it was so crumbly and fell apart while I was eating my sandwich. Messy. Not good first-date food but a-ok for chowing down with great non-judgmental friends. The GF options didn't just stop at the sandwich bread...there was an entire row in one of the bakery cases with GF goodies--brownies, bread pudding, chocolate cakes and so many more that I tried to hold myself back. I chose the bread pudding and it was delicious! Lasted me nearly 3 days, it was so huge for dessert. To top off my meal I got a hazelnut italian soda. Love this place! We always stop here in our way to the slopes. I get the egg bagel sandwich on a jalenpeno bagel with sausage and my husband gets the breakfast burrito which is huge (and tastes amazing!). Both are really filling. But just to keep our energy up we always get a few 7 layer bars which we can snack on while on the lifts. I have also tried some of the other bars like the chocolate pecan bar, the brownies, and the peanut butter bar and all of them were great. This is my family's halfway stop en route to Steamboat to visit my brother. I've been here a few times now and typically order sandwiches or treats to tide ourselves over for the remaining hours until we reach our destination. I am pretty much all about the desserts/treats here. I've had their meatball sub here two times now and while it isn't bad, it also isn't the best I've ever had. I think they just need to kick up the marinara sauce a notch and it would be perfect. Their desserts/treats on the otherhand, well prepare in advance and bring a napkin as you will most certainly drool over all the delicious concoctions displayed in their cases. The coconut macaroons there are huge and to die for. I'm a huge fan of the ones dipped in chocolate. Dark chocolate makes everything divine! We were just there on Christmas Eve and went all out and ordered the chocolate yule log. Man that thing was decadent. Spongy cake rolled in frosting and then covered on the outside with more frosting to resemble a log. Break me off a piece of that!
