Disappointing.... slightly better than a pizza from a supermarket freezer…read more I honestly think everything on my pizza came from a can or a bag, nothing seemed made / cut at the place. Pizza was tasteless something even small children would eat, you could not taste the chorizo even if you picked it from the pizza. On the bright side they very fast and friendly, and given the options of no lunch and this place I would take it again.

Cafe Gil Vicente is slightly off the main circuit in Nazare and on a narrow charming street lined by other restaurants, cafes and apartments. The restaurant is family owned and the staff was very friendly and spoke English. We chose to sit outside as it was a very pleasant and beautiful late August evening. We ordered Chorizo, Grilled Octopus, Grilled Sardines, Beef Filet, one glass of wine, one beer, two bottles of sparkling water and two desserts. The total for all this was around $80.00 US! Everything was very good and tasted extremely fresh. The meat dish was especially good with great flavors and cooked perfectly. We loved Nazare and would recommend Cafe Gil Vicente if one is looking for a casual and charming dining spot.

The dishes were served steaming hot and fresh. For dessert we had the chocolate house and Molotoff made with chocolate cake. We will return when we are in Nazare next time. Definitely worth it.
