After we were done the fish the seafood rice had absorbed a lot of the soup so she brought it back to the kitchen for them to give us more broth. I thought that was a really nice touch. The grilled mackerel was ok. It had a lot of small bones so was a little difficult to eat. The seafood rice was really good. It has shrimp, clams and crab. Very tasty. The portions are really generous. The one person size could feed two people. I really enjoyed eating here. The service was very attentive and friendly. Cafe Gil Vicente is slightly off the main circuit in Nazare and on a narrow charming street lined by other restaurants, cafes and apartments. The restaurant is family owned and the staff was very friendly and spoke English. We chose to sit outside as it was a very pleasant and beautiful late August evening. We ordered Chorizo, Grilled Octopus, Grilled Sardines, Beef Filet, one glass of wine, one beer, two bottles of sparkling water and two desserts. The total for all this was around $80.00 US!
