tattoo turned out absolutely horrible and crooked, the artist seemed like he didn't give a damn and even after the tattoo was done he told me it was crooked. why would he tattoo me if he knew he couldn't execute it well? Had my septum and Medusa changed to retainers for surgery. I informed the piercer I didn't need help with my septum but he still insisted on switching it out for me. The staff was okay. The service was good. They were pretty efficient and professional. I had no complaints.

Came in on a whim to get my nostril pierced. Called on before I came, they are taking in walk-ins however I recommend you schedule an appointment for tattoos. Everyone is stopped at the door, temp scanned, hands sanitized. Selection of body jewelry in place, see attached photos. Crystal was working today, I had a 20 minute wait. She was quick to sanitize her station and set up for my nostril piercing. This is my second visit with her and both times she has been personable and professional. The process was painless, she explained aftercare and gave me details about jewelry size and when it can be replaced. Would highly recommend her and this place. ***they do NOT honor the 10% off Yelp check-in discount. Yelp moderators have been notified. read more

Pros : - We had angel who was a great pierced, very professional and experienced. - The facility was very clean. Cons: - it's cash only - my jewelry was fine but my partner's earring ended up bent out of shape somehow, he didn't even touch them read more

great service and very welcoming. I got 4 piercings and it was exactly what I wanted. It is cash only but the price was good not overpriced.

Definitely would not recommend coming here to get nose pierced or piercing changed. The receptionist told me that it would be 30 mins and there are 2 people in front of me. I sat for over 1 hour, went back to receptionist and asked her how long it would be and she told me about 30 more minutes and I have several people in front of me. I asked if they take appointments and was told "no". They have people coming in and out from piercer and I was definitely sitting here patiently before all of these folks. Customer service and time management sucks. I guess if you are cool with the people that work here and not melanated you're good. Update: Finally got my nose pierced over 2 hours later. Receptionist were still rude, however, piercer was extremely professional and apologetic. She's still guilty by association. read more

Rating: -100/10 I'm not usually one to leave bad reviews, in fact this is my very first, but this time it's necessary. I recently came here to get a tattoo as a walk in appointment. Let me preface by saying I totally understand that this was a walk in appointment, however there is a certain unsaid rule about what you expect in terms of quality when you go to get a tattoo, appointment or not. When my friend and I walked in, I had a very clear idea of what I wanted done (image below). Upon talking to the artist, Paulie, I made sure to let him know that I was getting this tattoo to cover up scars, so it was very meaningful to me. We agreed that he would draw up a sketch so as to not copy the original artist's work. He took some time to draw up a new stencil (image below) and I really liked the way the drawing looked, so I agreed to continue on with the tattoo. Once the stencil was placed, I still really enjoyed the way it looked so we agreed to get started. However, before we started, I made it very clear that I wanted the lines more on the dainty side, as seen in the original inspo picture, and I also wanted very minimal shading, if any at all. He started doing the line work and it was off to a great start. The first leaf he did looked great! The lines were thin and the line thickness was consistent. As he gets further into the tattoo, it starts getting painful, which causes me to not pay as much attention to how he is tattooing (I don't believe I should have to double check the quality of the work as it's being done, but). Eventually the line work was completed and initially, it looked fine to me (I was also trying not to pass out so my full attention was not on the consistency of the tattoo at the time). He then says he's going to start shading and once again I mention that I'd like it to be minimal. Once he gets about halfway through the shading, I take a look and it is way darker and taking up more of the tattoo than I had expected from what we discussed. his response was something along the lines of "don't worry, it'll lighten up once it's healed". I took his word for it (which I realize is partially my fault) and let him continue. Again, the pain gets bad enough that I'm really not paying attention for a while. As he's finishing up, I take another peek and see this smokey shading in the background of my tattoo that was never once discussed. We had only discussed minimal shading in the leaves and branches, nothing in the background. I told him I absolutely did not like it and again, he just said something along the lines of "when it heals it'll be a lot lighter". My (and multiple other tattoo artist's opinions from different shops) suspicion as to why he did this background smoke shading without my permission, was to try to cover the blown out lines that he had previously tattooed. When the tattoo was completed (image below), I said I didn't like it, and again he dismissed me. For the next 48 hours I was having a panic attack because of how poorly it was done and how incredibly different it was from what I asked for (which I understand is a bit dramatic). I went to another shop two days later to get their opinion and make sure I wasn't being overdramatic, and they told me it was, in fact, a horrible tattoo with blown out, inconsistent lines, inconsistent shading, and was completely different than my reference and even the stencil. Because I'm so unhappy with the tattoo, they recommend that i have it lasered since it is too dark to try to cover. Now I have a consult in a couple weeks to when I can have it removed, because an artist at the Blue Horseshoe in Hampton cannot produce quality work. I will update as I have more laser appointments. Update: I called the shop and asked to speak to the manager about coming to some sort of resolution. When I asked, he laughed in my face (well, phone I guess) and said it wasn't his problem anymore because the artist had already been paid. It was extremely rude and disrespectful. read more

Got my nose pierced at the Virginia Beach location on a Monday. Two days later my ring is sinking into my nose because apparently the bar was bent too far and it became too short to accommodate the swelling. Called that location and was told the piercer is off but I could come to a different location. Portsmouth's was off too, but Hampton's was available. Came about an hour after they opened and was told he'd help and check it out, but there were a few people waiting to be pierced before me. No problem. We hang out and wait. I don't recommend bringing kids there because it is fairly boring, but they did have a tv on for the little ones. I had to bring mine because of prior commitments, but she didn't mind as paw patrol was on lol. Justin helps me out. I learned that he's the owner and my experience with him was actually pretty calming. He helped me swap out the shorter bar for a longer one (if you were curious, it was as if I was getting it pierced all over again *sad face*), gave me an after care hand out, wrote down the length of the bar, and gave me some tips and tricks to help the swelling go down. He didn't rush me, he didn't make me feel foolish, and I was comfortable the whole time. I'd recommend driving the extra couple miles/minutes to see Justin. read more

Do not recommendI was so excited to get my tongue pierced here however, I felt the woman who pierced my tongue was a little bit snippy and kind of rushed threw everything. She took a lot of the fun out of the experience and made me feel overlooked like she just wanted to get it done. After I got home I noticed my piercing looked really high up and it kept rubbing really badly against my webbing underneath. I assumed it was because of swelling but after four day it still looked wrong. I went to the body bar In Patrick Henry mall to have it checked. they said it was absolutely pierced incorrectly, not only was it pierced too far back but also at an angle causing a lot of discomfort. They removed the jewelry for me, told me to come back in 3 weeks and they would re-pierce it correctly. So I don't not recommend blue horseshoe, but do recommend the body bar! They were so kind and patient, listened to my story and corrected the problem quickly! read more

less than one star... a little racism. I paid for a service and another person of their race was serviced before I was. It's sad how blatant racism is. read more

Was happy with the service I got here. I called and they had immediate openings so I went over and they had me in and out the door in max 20 minutes. While not exactly the warmest welcome, my tattoo artist warmed up to me and was professional about getting things done with good sanitation and privacy (he put up blinds as my tattoo was on my hip and I had to partially undo my pants to get the tattoo on). As this is my first tat, I can't speak much to the quality and what is my responsibility vs. the parlor's but my lines are a little smudgy and not entirely uniform. So if you are a perfectionist, go pay high top dollar to get what you want, but this place was perfect for what I was looking for. Overall, I would recommend this to a friend but would remind them to keep realistic expectations. read more

Awesome service provided by the entire staff--from the person who answered the phone before I decided to come in to the ladies who met me at the door and charged my card for the service and after care. I went in for a piercing and was immediately greeted outside the building to discuss my needs while ensuring social distancing. I didn't have to wait outside long. My temperature was checked at the door and I was offered a squirt of hand sanitizer. Everyone inside wore face coverings. Justin is incredibly knowledgeable and found a way to make the piercing process as painless as possible. I highly recommend Blue Horseshoe Tattoo for a clean, enjoyable, and professional experience. read more

EDIT: So although I had a great first experience, after I got my piercing it did get infected. This was partially my fault too but when I went to urgent care to get it looked at, the doctor said that the piercing was poorly done and the jewelery was low quality, which may have led to the infection. Although I had a great time going, I can't really recommend higher than 2 stars because of this. Original review below ---------------------------------------------------------- Great first piercing experience at this place, although it looks like they are very good with piercing veterans as well! Walked in with a group of 3 friends and although the studio was pretty full, we didn't have to wait that long (~20 min. after paperwork I think). I was really nervous because it was my first piercing but they are very professional and offered advice and answers to my questions as needed. Even when I changed my mind about the stud and location they were very okay with it, and I really appreciated their flexibility. Everything was very clean and sterile and it was cool to get to see pieces being tattooed on other people. They had a huge selection of pre-drawn designs and a pretty good selection of studs, earrings, and gauges as well. Makes me want to go back for more! ;) read more

Left here in tears after being reprimanded like a child by a tattoo artist named RHINO. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and whoever else necessary. I regret the entire experience. Never will I return to this shop. I came to start a sleeve at this location and will never be returning. I got tattooed by Rhino. It was a mandala piece. He tells me I can't watch him while he tattoos me and that he doesn't enjoy doing mandalas. He was RUDE from the jump but I try to give him the benefit of the doubt. Fine. I get tattooed by him & when it heals, the line work needs touching up. I go by the shop and the artist was not there but I was told the owner was and so I could talk to him about my tattoo. I told the owner I needed a touch up because I wasn't happy with the line work and that I would return to Rhino to get it. The owner ASKED ME what I wanted to get done. The owner was very nice. So today, I go into the shop to get my touch up. It it hurting more than usual and bleeding more than usual but I chalked it up to me being too sensitive. He ALSO started tattooing me and then stopped to SHAVE my arm in the middle of tattooing and then continued. I don't know think this is normal. Mind you-- I have 12 tattoos. REGARDLESS of being in pain and BLEEDING more than usual from his aggressive work, I give Rhino a good tip-- WORST MISTAKE. When I go to leave the shop, Rhino is outside and he says he wants to talk to me. He explains to me and I quote "if you had a problem with me you could have came to me, in the real world you don't go around telling people's bosses." I was shocked. He said "I thought we were cool, I really liked you." He also says "Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about." He then says, "In the real world adults don't go going around to other adult's bosses"-- as if I am a CHILD. I am not, I am a grown ass woman. I am appalled at this disgusting customer service and his overall attitude from the START. I didn't have a problem since I clearly was getting my tattoo touched up by him. It's not my fault he messed it up the first time and the owner ASKED ME what I needed done. Needless to say, it makes sense why my arm is swollen and bleeding because Rhino tattooed me so hard that he had to put a paper towel on my arm to stop the bleeding. He reprimanded me outside in front of the entire store and I was so embarrassed. I have never left a tattoo shop where I was in pain, DISRESPECTED but still tipped well and then was reprimanded by a tattoo artist. It's humiliating, embarrassing and down right wrong. If you get offended that you didn't do work right the first time, maybe you shouldn't be a tattoo artist. Rhino continues to tell me he's worked with owner well over 20 years and never had a problem until me. I was so upset I sat in my car wondering what to do. Since Rhino made me feel as though now, I can't discuss this behavior with the owner, I am going to take this problem to the Better Business Bureau. I will never recommend this place to anyone and will be finishing my sleeve elsewhere. After doing research, I've read multiple bad reviews about Rhino & multiple people have claimed to have gotten an infected tattoo from him. One review about an infected tattoo was from 7 years ago. I am concerned and will be taking appropriate action. read more

If I could put no stars, I would. I was judged from the moment I walked in just because none of my tattoos are visible. Which my entirely back and right thigh and more are tatted. Then, when speaking to the tattoo artist, he told me my idea was stupid and that it would cost a lot. He went to draw my idea on a sticky note, and it was NOTHING like I asked for. I wouldn't have gone if I wasn't willing to spend the money. And it's going on MY body, so why does it matter? Never again will I enter this place! I ended up going somewhere else and they did exactly what I wanted with no judgment and were extremely nice. read more

I got my first tattoo here. They were so friendly and comforting! I walked in around 7:15 & they took me right away. The starting fee is $50 & mine ended up being $62. My tattoo was very small and simple - basically a triangle with a line, so I feel this was sort of over-priced. They accept cash only I believe, and they have an ATM inside with a transaction fee of $3. My friend was asked not to record me while I was getting it done, which wasn't too much of a letdown. Also, the widths of the lines of my tattoo are slightly uneven but not too noticeably. I'm overall satisfied. read more
