Dogs need there space not to be in the middle of an active field with small dogs, ppl, children. That's a bad connection. The trainers bring dogs that have no control of their senses to a family park in an open space. Park department should not allow this. My dad trained German shepherd , Doberman and he trained them indoor until they were well trained and obedience. If they continue to get complains the park department may listen. I don't know why they are not investigating yet. I would hate to have find another park for my pup because of safety.

Free family friendly movies (with the exception of them showing Jaws last month which was an interesting choice with the shark attack that happened in June at Fort Macon) on Wednesday nights June thru August. Skate Park Splashpad Playground/swingset Basketball Court Minigolf for $5 per person and it's free for ages 6 and under The main building which sells snacks & concessions and has restrooms along with free Wifi. The concession area and the golf are open 10-10 daily and it goes without saying that they are closed along with things like the splashpad seasonally. Compared with beaches in New Jersey or Maryland, Atlantic Beach is very understated in the amenities that it offers but I don't think that is necessarily a detriment. If you want all the bells and whistles it's not that much further to go to Myrtle or head north to KDH or OCMD and you'll find what you're looking for. But if you want quiet and relaxed with a very nice small town "homey" feeling then this is the spot you want. A+

This park contains one of the best disc golf courses in the New Bern area. Barring a few instances over the past year, this course has been well maintained and a blast to play. The first half has more open long range holes, and the second half gets deep into the woods with some really tricky shots. Most holes have two difficulty levels, as evidenced by the different starting pads and baskets. Overall, this course is challenging, and it's a beautiful hike to boot. B. This park has a lot of different species of frogs, toads and lizards. It's a ton of fun to just walk around and try to spot as many different little creatures as you can find. Being right on the bank of the Neuse means there are always interesting things to poke and the views are nothing to shake a stick at either. C. Glenburnie has a pretty awesome playground that my young nieces just love to visit. The equipment is very well maintained and is kept well stocked with plenty of children for your youngins to play with. As an adult, I find myself wanting to climb the giant rock they have at the playground every time I visit. D. Snakes!? Why'd it have to be snakes? During the spring time, I've noticed a water moccasin or two sunning themselves on the disc golf course between holes 5 and 10. As I said before, the grounds are well-kept at Glenburnie Park, so keep your eyes open and be aware of your surroundings and its not an issue. Overall, I love this park. There's little to no shade and seating for parents. The park is tiny and always packed with little kids so trust me if you're looking to relax look somewhere else. Can't beat the view or the ocean breeze at this marvelous park on Topsail Island with is also a short walk to Surf City Beach. Park in the free land side lot adjacent to the traffic circle and walk over the high rise bridge to get to the park for an exhilarating experience and light exercise. This is an exceedingly safe park that is rarely packed but always has families at the playground and people fishing from the decks. Birdwatchers will love this park. There is free parking for boaters with a load in ramp that has a bathroom close by. There are several great restaurants and sweets shops within walking distance of this park as well as nearby beach supply and souvenirs shops. Please do not use this park solely for beach parking.
