I have a pretty unique set of challenges involving my oral health and they're always working to help me find solutions. Dr. Petrunich was the first to offer a particular treatment that saved me time and money. I am always dealing with insurance issues (because of the unique manner of my issues) and they're billing team is always on the ball (and on the phone) trying to sort things out for me. When Dr. Petrunich came in, he checked the tooth and quickly said that it looks as it hasn't fully grown out yet (not true as my referring dentist informed otherwise and I saw my xrays). I heard him whisper something to the dental assistant behind me. That made me feel very uncomfortable, made me wonder why he would whisper in the presence of a patient. He then began injecting numbing medicine. He gave me three injections (waited about a minute between each one. I had the feeling he was rushing as it was late in the afternoon) and numbing never happened. He eventually said he was going to tug on it a little to see if I would feel anything; it hurt as if metal was being pulled through my tooth. He then said that he is going to have to reschedule so they could put me to sleep. I have had several dental surgeries done in the past and never put to sleep or given anything to calm me. Ever since he pulled on my wisdom tooth, I have had random ear pain on that same side. I left Petrunich's office and scheduled an appointment with another dental surgeon I had seen in the past, even though he was now out of network. He immediately popped the wisdom tooth out within minutes. Never felt any pain or aches afterwards either.

They both did a great job and I continue to get compliments, however, when I was already in the chair with Dr. Panko, I was informed that the cost was increased by $10,000! My procedure had already began. I didn't fight it at the time because the thought came to me that I might not have been happy with the final product (Sort of like rethinking of complaining in a restaurant about your steak and someone might spit on it before they give it back to you.). I believe the timing to inform me could fall under false advertising since I was already in the chair and bam! An additional $10,000! I believe Dr. Panko should be the one to reimburse me since he was responsible for raising the price which Dr Fay was not aware of at the time. I expect a call from Dr. Panko. Perhaps he wouldn't have been so eager to up the cost at such a late date had he realized I live in the same neighborhood as he does.

My daughter had all her wisdom teeth pulled in Boston at the start of the summer. Over the 4th of July weekend she developed an infection and was in so much pain. Many friends recommended Cape Atlantic, and we have been so pleased that this is were we went to get treatment. The whole office is so friendly, supportive, and professional. I finally had to deal with it and made an appointment at Smyrna Dental. I really couldn't be happier with my visit and I am glad I found this place. The receptionists were helpful. I wasn't even sitting in the waiting room for 5 minutes before they called me back. Suzanne cleaned my teeth and she was super nice, gentle and efficient. I was embarrassed enough at having to open my mouth after so long between cleanings but she made me feel very comfortable and didn't make me feel like an idiot for not keeping up with my dental hygiene. My first impression of Dr. Yerneni is that she is competent and cares about her patients. I like that fact that she wanted to give me time to let my gums heal and she didn't start trying to pressure me to undergo aggressive procedures. I also like the fact that they don't use metal fillings in their practice. I definitely recommend this place and am happy to be a patient here.
