Went here with the boyff and my dad for lunch the day after Boxing Day…read more It was relatively busy with two large groups. We picked our table and sat down, the waiter seemed a bit short/abrupt initially but then he was fine. We picked our food. Starters were Minced lamb koftas, flat mushroom with cheese and mixed veg and filo pastry parcels with feta cheese and spinach. Dad was impressed with his mushroom and said it was "very good indeed", the lamb "yeah it was nice, standard" and the parcels were fair enough, although the salad bed they were on looked like the lettuce had been left out over night. For the mains, 2 x Tuna peppered steaks and 1 x chicken shish. The tuna was good enough the men said although it was just a piece of fish and weird it was served with frozen chips that had been cooked in fat. There was no veg/salad with the tuna. Chicken shish was good and cooked very well. We ordered extra sides humus and tzatziki - wasn't over then moon with either of them to be fair. Bread was delicious though. So, all in all, good starters, average/fair mains, blurg sides. Service ended up being good by the end. Would go back but wouldn't trample the masses to get there.

When it comes to the food, the only thing I have to say about it is if it wasn't for the passing traffic and houses outside the window I would think I'm eating somewhere in the mediterranean, the chefs have captured the taste well, and on every visit to Isot feels like a trip to the mediterranean. A note on their good selection of wine also needs a mention. All-in-all Isot is a place that attracts me and my family a few times a week happily.

Easily the best restaurant in London! Great wine selection and impeccable service. We ordered…read moreseveral small plates and appetizers so that we could try several dishes. Everything was absolutely delicious! The octopus might have been my favorite. You can't miss this restaurant!

Maybe my friend over-sold it and got my expectations up too high, because I was pretty disappointed in this dinner. We were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We said still and were brought out a £4.50 bottle. I know it's common to charge for water in Europe, so I didn't think much about it until I noticed that everyone else around us had refillable glass bottles -- free tap water that we were never even told was an option. We were seated downstairs at a large communal table. I don't necessarily mind that, but it was so loud that having a conversation was very difficult. My cocktail was delicious, but so tiny. The wine list was decent -- a good mix of options at various price points. As for the food, it was very hit or miss. The mushroom starter and the pork main dish were delicious. Unfortunately, the two most expensive dishes were disappointing. The prawns had great flavor, but a strangely soft, mushy texture. For me, the flavor made the weird texture okay, but my husband couldn't get over the mushiness of the shrimp and hated this dish. The sea bream was very bland and dry -- highly disappointing for the most expensive item on the menu. We ended on a high note with the affogato dessert (Yum!), but for such an expensive meal, there were just a few too many misses for us.

This is an excellent restaurant! It is part of our hotel. We were quite surprised it was so good,…read moreand in our week here we ate at Flames almost every night. Every single thing on the menu is good, and the prices are reasonable. The staff is great - we were impressed with Anastasia, who helped us several evenings. I hope more people find this place. Its a hidden gem, and has great food. Mediterranean in style, it is tasty and seems healthy too. The Octopus appetizer was awesome, the bread that comes with every meal is perfect, the main courses are delicious and filling, and they have a nice selection of wine.

We visited this restaurant on Saturday night…read more A friend had been before and had a lovely time yet her experience last night and the other five of us , it was our first time, were far from nice and one word to describe terrible. We were served with food , of how can I say half a packet of salt on everything from the Kalamari which tasted like it was brought from a supermarket definitely not fresh rubbery taste to the meat being so over cooked and full of spices this certainly was the worst Greek food well if you can say Greek meze we have ever experienced and note we are all Greek Cypriots ! The only items of food that was nice was the pitta bread and some dips. Having a heavily pregnant lady with us didn't help either we weren't treated with any kind of warmth or hospitality , they were too busy serving and caring more about the other three tables and didn't bother much with us , yet we constantly said please ask the chef not so much salt. We were also served with one slice of watermelon which he said was a fruit platter! Where was the fruit one disgusting sour watermelon We had such a horrible experience that we just wanted to leave. We asked for the bill which was incorrect yet the owner wasn't having it and questioned us then he has the audacity to screw up the bill in our faces and throw it and tell us to leave and don't pay then. And then he had the cheek to say we don't go out to eat we don't know ! We most certainly do go out for dinners whether it be local in north london or in the city or Mayfair we were prepared to spend even £100 on a dinner, if it was worth it . We were disgusted by this attitude of the owner and said no we are going to pay please amend it we paid and he was very rude and ignorant. We will never step foot in this place again and certainly never recommend it. There are much better Greek restaurants in north London, this isn't more than a cafe style restaurant in a hotel Stay clear from here

For an informal mediterranean meal head just a few doors down to Pamphylia. A local Tapas bar, also offering full meals, breakfasts and lunchtime offers. For an evening on the Ionian head to The Bazouka on The Hill. To be fair I have only sampled their breakfasts and lunches, not evening meal, but nothing they have offered me has made me want to go there in the evening. In the morning I was presented with a half decent fry up for £5 and certainly it looked healthier than something from a greasy spoon, but the restaurant had the atmosphere of a department store cafe. At lunch I sat outside and certainly enjoyed the opportunity to do so. Sitting i the sun, I ordered a large greek salad. It was plentiful, but tasted no better than something I could have knocked up myself. You know the difference between restaurant salad and your own salad, well thats what I am on about. This isn't an awful restaurant. I feel bad giving it 2 stars, but I want to make sure you understand, it simply isn't up to scratch with the other restaurants in Muswell Hill. They need to raise their game.
