We were surprised to find this little art co-op. We were staying in Pinedale, Wy and had tried…read moresearching for art galleries in the area with no luck. We stumbled a-crossed this while checking out the stores downtown. It's a tiny little shop and the artist's take turn running the store. Currently 9 artist are displaying there craft. We found a few things to take home and enjoyed visiting with the artist. It's worth taking a few minute of your time to see what's available.

Last Friday the Willard Arts Center held an opening for their Japanese Woodblock Prints exhibit,…read moreand it was fabulous! The curator, Nathan Barnes, gave a great presentation on the artists, this particular medium and Japanese history at the time woodblocking was an industry. They served sushi and drinks and used the premier to promote local artist Steve Neilsen's exhibit, Out of Chaos, upstairs. And because this was the exhibit's opening, the Art Center was open in the evening! Idaho Falls may not be the most cultured city, but events like this prove we have potential! I love supporting the arts, and this is a great opportunity to do just that while experiencing some phenomenal Japanese woodblock prints. While I wish these exhibits could be open in the evenings, I'm sure they don't have the funding to pay for the support staff those hours would require. But maybe if more of us frequent the Willard Arts Center, it will give them reason to look for ways to make that work!

Sold my elderly mother overpriced "collectible" prints as 'investments,' bilking her out of thousands of dollars then suddenly knew nothing when it came time to sell it. Caveat emptor folks. Find a real art gallery, because these folks are just scam artists.
