Find a real art gallery, because these folks are just scam artists.

Last Friday the Willard Arts Center held an opening for their Japanese Woodblock Prints exhibit,…read moreand it was fabulous! The curator, Nathan Barnes, gave a great presentation on the artists, this particular medium and Japanese history at the time woodblocking was an industry. They served sushi and drinks and used the premier to promote local artist Steve Neilsen's exhibit, Out of Chaos, upstairs. And because this was the exhibit's opening, the Art Center was open in the evening! Idaho Falls may not be the most cultured city, but events like this prove we have potential! I love supporting the arts, and this is a great opportunity to do just that while experiencing some phenomenal Japanese woodblock prints. While I wish these exhibits could be open in the evenings, I'm sure they don't have the funding to pay for the support staff those hours would require. But maybe if more of us frequent the Willard Arts Center, it will give them reason to look for ways to make that work!

There are parts of the museum with natural history back to the dinosaur ages and the geology. There are several different sections on people history from the Native Americans through the founding of Idaho up to a few decades ago. There's a section with a darkened street on the first level with about 9 businesses from over a century ago making you immersed back in time. Yes, there are a handful of interactive areas for kids ranging from "shoot the mammoth" to a separate play area in a section that looks as if you'd lived 100 years ago.

Fun Sunday afternoon with Hours from 1-5pm on Sunday's…read more They currently have an Aerospace and flight exhibit which is colorful, interactive and designed to get kids and adult engaged in the science associated with flight both terrestrial and outer space. So many interactive ways to reach you about flight, aerodynamics and machines that can fly. Prices are affordable and plenty to do and see for the money. The section devoted specifically to Idaho is very interesting and worth at least another hour or more. Lots of places for the kids to engage and have fun.

The shop owner greeted me when I came in and was very friendly asking if I needed help. I looked around and their selection is extensive. They had plenty of fat quarters to select from. They do not have a selection of contemporary fabrics, but that isn't the only kinds of fabric I buy. I will return when I get ready for my next project.

Now I am not an avid quilter by any means, but the interaction in no way shape or form inspired me either. I was excited to see they had a tiny selection of minky but again due to this interaction I will spend my time and money with a trip to Utah for what I need. Quilting, crocheting, sewing, etc... are becoming dying arts. I would have guessed that for the secure future of the business treating customers with respect and building on curiosity would be a solid part of a successful business plan.
