I liked that it's kind of private. The units have 2 bedrooms, 1 has a queen size bed and the other is 2 bunk beds. There's a kitchen with a cooktop, dishes, a refrigerator, and coffee maker. Really everything you'd need. There's also a screened in porch and you get 2 chairs and a table on the shoreline outside. It's the cutest little place with a lot of charm. The units are only about a year old and clean inside. The shower is also really spacious and nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Mark, Mike, and Connor were awesome!! There's a man made beach at the marina with chairs, a fire pit, and a pool area. There are a few grills also. The marina offers boat slips, jet ski tours, and boat rentals. They also have e-bikes, fishing rods, and kayaks for rent as well. The town is a very country laid back Hallmark kinda feel. You will see people riding bikes, mopeds, and golf carts everywhere. The speed limit is mainly 25mph everywhere. Most of the people were very nice. We even got a net and went crabbing off the pier . There's a designated smoking spot in front of the welcome center. I sincerely enjoyed the whole 4 days. I'll absolutely return! Check them out!!

It has a screened in porch looking out at the water. We didn't get to sit out in it because the weather wasn't great that weekend but it would be perfect on nice days/nights. As you enter the bungalow, you're in the living and kitchen area. There's a couch, small dining table with four chairs, and a wall mounted TV. The couch was very uncomfortable. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal if the weather was better because we would have spent more time on the porch and less on the couch. The kitchen has a coffee maker, cooktop, full sized refrigerator, and lots of cabinet space. No dishwasher but that was fine. The bedroom was really small and just big enough for the bed and a small area for suitcases or bags. The bed fills the alcove touching three walls. I'm 6'1" tall and my feet touched the wall at the end of the bed. It was fine for me but taller people might have issues. The bedroom tv didn't seem to have a remote so we were unable to use it. In the hall leading to the bathroom there are two bunk beds. Those beds are a little longer than the main bed in the bedroom. The bathroom is very big and spacious. There's a large shower stall with a handheld shower head. No bath tub (fine with us). The hot water doesn't last very long. One person can easily shower without a problem. The second is likely to run out of hot water if they shower too soon after the first. If I could change one thing, I'd opt for a larger bedroom and smaller bathroom. I also liked that we had our own driveway. It was very convenient for loading and unloading the car. Next to the bungalows there is a recreation area with cornhole and some other things (maybe a grill). We didn't use it but saw some other people using it and they seemed to have a good time. There's also a pool next to the rec area. We didn't use that either but it seemed nice enough. If we ever return to Chincoteague, we plan to stay here again.

My kids went out jet skiing on a guided tour for an hour for about $125. It's for up to 2 people…read moreper jet ski. The driver must be age 18 with a driver's license. Your given a little tutorial before beginning. They left and everything was wonderful. They were having a great time. But when they got to the other side of the island the fear kicked in because the channel has choppy water. My kids aren't avid swimmers, so being out that far in rougher water got the best of them. They sent an employee to guide them back in. My kids were so happy to see land again. Besides the fact that were afraid they still had fun. You do have to understand if you choose to go back it's a 5-15 minute wait for help to arrive depending on where you are. Which could be a little nerve wrecking if your scared. They send a little boat to tow you back. They did have a few issues that day with the battery dying in a few jet skis. But they quickly resolved everything. If you aren't afraid and can swim, I recommend trying this!! Connor and Mike were awesome!!! Check them out!!

The staff made sure we got out on the water safely and even helped us return to the dock. We also rented fishing poles and bait, and everything was on the boat and ready when we arrived. Instead of pulling us to safety, the staff told us not to return and to stay out in the storm. When we finally came back after 30 minutes, they refused any refund, not even for unused fishing gear. Safety and compassion were completely absent. Do not risk your well being or your money with this business. Their reputation looks good on sunny days, but when conditions turned dangerous, they abandoned responsibility. Never again.

When my friend mentioned Back Bay I was thinking, oh snap. What did I commit myself to?? Kayaking where there might be cottonmouths??!! But I was thinking Back Bay Wildlife Refuge where I've seen lots of them. There were no cottonmouths. I promise you. Just lots of duck blinds and marsh areas that open into the bay. It was so serene. You get 2 hours, and rental includes the pfd and they loan you a waterproof phone case if needed which was nice. Because I was pretty dry until I got out of the kayak from our 2 hours. I landed in waist deep water, my feet sunk into the sand. I couldn't recover from the fall and face planted into the water - baseball hat, sunglasses and waterproof phone case and all. THAT waterproof phone case saved my phone and my key fob!! Don't do what I did Launch it parallel to the land so you don't end up in the water like I did. The young man that worked there was kind and genuinely concerned. When he arrived to pull the kayaks further up on land, he asked if I got hot. Because he saw I was soaking wet. I think he thought I took a dip in the water. But I told him, I actually fell in getting out of the kayak. (The older couple with their beach chairs outside Baja got quite a show of me splashing around. Haha. ) He made sure I was okay and asked if my phone was okay and to make sure since the waterproof phone cases aren't 100% waterproof. Thankfully, it was fine and so was my key fob. You can rent single or tandem kayaks and are free to roam the area. It's $35 plus tax but they offer military discounts 10% with ID so it came out to $33.39 for me. Staff was very nice the young man was the same person who checked us in and took our payments and the young ladies were friendly and kind as well. Kudos to the staff with their patience, because there was a large group (family) that was blocking the entrance to the shack. When it was time for them to gear up for their pfds, they ransacked the racks of life vests and staff had to politely inform them that they have it in order and will fit each of them individually properly. Therefore there's no need to take them off the rack. I looked it up on their website and if you have your own kayak you can pay a $15 launch fee so that's cool.

Today was my wife's birthday; she is very adventurous. The staff was amazing. They explained what to expect and provided the necessary safety equipment. The ride was fantastic. I am 50+, and I was holding on, with my eyes closed and a smile, to my two kids. The driver helped me adjust to changes in speed and water turbulence resulting from the boat ride. My kids and my wife were laughing. They helped us create a lasting family legacy moment we can cherish. I will come again and use them in the future. But once you step inside, you'll never want to leave. This townhouse rental is beautifully decorated with soft, cool colors and beachy items everywhere. It provides enough room for a small family (we had 5 and were plenty comfortable). Almost everything you could need is provided. I cannot say enough good things about this home and cannot wait to have many more stays here. I was even able to contact the owners directly when I had questions after the rental agency was closed for the day.
