My husband and I moved to the city, which was not easy for our fur baby. He was used to my husband working from home and spending more time outside with other dogs that he knew well. Our dog gets very excited when she comes to walk him, even when she wakes him up from a nap (we have a dog camera). Our dog truly likes her, and it comforts us to know he is happy and well taken care of. The operations/customer service is just as awesome. They are responsive whenever we have questions. We have had to make impromptu schedule changes and they are quick to confirm with us. Their platform is basic and easy to use, but I typically just email them when we need to adjust our schedules. Our dog walker Dayve was so kind and good with her. He took the time to make sure she was as comfortable as could be on her walks and praise her for doing a good job. He didn't let her eat garbage off the sidewalk. He dried her off when it rained and offered to wipe her paws after her walks if we wanted that. He took time to pet her, scratch her belly, and make sure she was happy. We didn't have to worry about her when we were out because Dayve cared about our dog and took good care of her. I still keep many of the pictures for memory's sake. The company was always professional as well. They let us know of upcoming holidays and any changes in coverage. Blue Dog is amazing! They have helped me so much with caring for my fur baby Olaf while I'm at work. Their puppy package was a life-saver for his first couple months. I haven't found another company that has a twice a day puppy package like Blue Dog. I switched him over to the 1 hour group dog walks after he finished his vaccinations, and that has worked out great as well. He loves his Blue Dog friends - sometimes we run into them in the morning or evening as well! The petcheck system works well. And although I've had multiple dog walker changes, the managers have always been 110% responsive to my concerns and Olaf's needs as a puppy. The walkers have gone above and beyond to care for Olaf, especially when he was sick, even popping in for a quick checkup after the walk. There are not many people I would trust with my puppy and in my home, but Blue Dog has been wonderful so far! **3 months later, and I have moved to a new neighborhood with Olaf. They keep a profile about my dog and add every new piece of information I share with them about his likes and dislikes and habits. Scheduling is very easy. They have an app like most companies but I also frequently email the office directly to request changes. We LOVE Blue Dog and can't recommend them highly enough! Dayve walks our little guy, Emmett, every weekday and sends a sweet message about their walk with multiple pictures each time. He's very reliable and obviously loves Emmett. He's also very conscious of how Emmett relates to other dogs that he walks. For example, Dayve noticed that Emmett was bothered by his walk mate's barking, and therefore changed his walking schedule so that Emmett would walk with quieter dogs. I really can't speak highly enough of Blue Dog. I was hesitant to try and find a new dog walker because our beloved sassy dog Charlie is very anti-dog walker and every single dog walk in the past has not been able to get him out of the house. My dog, Franklin, and I have been using Blue Dog for about 5 months now. We made the switch from a doggy daycare to hour-long walks with Blue Dog and it saves me major commute time and Franklin is just as happy, and even more well-exercised. Sam is his walker, and he's awesome. I love reading his notes about Franklin's walk each day, and seeing a photo. I was impressed that every single review was so positive. My experience is clearly a-typical, but I found Blue Dog to be disappointing and my dog and I were unimpressed. Among my concerns - multiple chewed-through leashes (how did that keep happening?), reported behavioral problems with my dog, extremely short walks (0.5 miles? in one hour), and a price increase almost as soon as I started. My experience has been so amazing and my puppy Brady is so much happier since meeting his walker, Megan. The entire Blue Dog team has been amazing from the start, Megan and Claudia, came over for a meet and greet to talk me through everything and learn what Brady likes and discuss the right schedule. Brady is little and needs someone to come twice a day so the puppy package has been a lifesaver. In addition to taking great care of him, Megan has taught Brady so much! In less than 2 weeks he learned to sit, go on the pee pads, and lay down. (I tried for 10 days to teach him one of these and totally failed). I feel like every other day she is teaching him something new, and I get updates so I can reinforce the behavior when I get home. Sadly I am having to revise my previously raving review. After several months of Home Buddies providing excellent care for a great rate, the owner of Home Buddies failed to bill me for the next 3 months. I kept asking for a bill to see what I owed her, and to pay for the next 20 walks in advance, but there was always a reason she wasn't able to send me a bill on time. Once she did send me a bill, I was suprised to see that she had, without any verbal or written notice, increased the price per 30 minute walk from $13 to $24... but offered to give me a "discount" of $20 per walk. She had allowed us to continued for 62 walks without a discussion of the "new rate." I am very disappointed, and find this lack of professionalism shocking. I went through a lot of pet sitters in the city - I have a high maintenance dog with some pretty big anxiety issues so he cannot go to a kennel or be around other dogs. I also have a job that requires a lot of trips last minute. I finally found Home Buddies (through a frantic search to find a new dog sitter after my other dog sitter would not accomodate 3 trips I had planned for the summer). Home Buddies was FANTASTIC. They came over to meet my dog and came over to get the keys from me so that I would not have to drive anywhere. They explained their services to me and helped me pick the best option and sent me timely responses to my questions. They sent me updates during the week of how my dog was doing and then left me a note everytime letting me know if there were any issues (there never were any issues with them). They did not mind at all that he has anxiety. Home Buddies was able to accomodate me even for last minute trips and didn't charge me if a trip was canceled at the last minute (as long as i gave them a day or two notice). Just enough for him to get out in the sunshine midday with a few pup buddies, mark the neighborhood a few times, and then go back home to lounging. Additionally, Blue Dog's service really sold me right away. They leave a QR code badge in your house and scan it every day upon arrival and again on checkout. You know exactly what time they showed up and came back. Megan leaves me a little note online each day of how Finny did on his walk. I can go on their website and see where they walked that day through their GPS. As a helicopter pup mom, this was right up my alley. Long over due review... but Blue Dog is the best! There is no way that we could have raised our dog in the city without the help of Blue Dog, specifically Shannon. My girlfriend and I both were working 60+ hours a week so we needed a reliable walker and Blue Dog delivered without fail. Blue Dog was there from day 1 when we picked up Chewy at 8 weeks old. Shannon was there to help every weekday; first, we started with the puppy package then moved onto the group walks once Chewy received all of his shots. Blue Dog helped socialize Chewy and they became an extended part of our family. We loved the daily updates and they were so good at reinforcing good habits. It's great that they have a full time, dedicated staff for anything that comes up last minute (i.e. request to take dog out twice in one day, dog is sick so be on the look out, etc.). And I like that they kept a copy of my key but I think you have other options as well. We've been using Blue Dog for our two dogs' weekday walks for the past two years. We are extremely happy with their services and their professionalism. Our dogs are walked by the same walker each day, which has helped to build trust and ensure consistency. If the regular walker is unavailable for some reason, Blue Dog notifies us in advance and they send another walker with whom our dogs are familiar. This is a huge plus for us because are dogs will not leave with a stranger.
