I'm honored to not have only held by wedding at "The Barn" but to create the listing on Yelp for it…read moreand be the first to review. Ruth and her team were phenomenal throughout the entire experience and we couldn't have asked for a better event planner who listened to our endless questions, suggestions and small complaints to try and make it as great as we could. I had no clue what I was doing when planning an event this big but our wedding weekend, Ruth had four weddings in total so she is clearly a PRO at this. We had to book over a year in advance so if you are reading my review and don't have a summer weekend already locked up for a date you are looking for in a month or two, it's probably not going to happen. It's a popular spot and will only get more so as people learn about this new location for weddings. Set back off the main road in a very rural area, the barn itself holds 200 guests and you can have pretty much your entire wedding day on site, from the ceremony to an outdoor cocktail hour and then into the barn for the reception itself. I've posted some professional pics for people to see the true beauty of both the inside and out. Parking is easy for all of your guests as they are guided to a giant lawn behind the barn itself, hidden away from the beauty out front. There is also a Bed & Breakfast on site that can be rented by guests or even your wedding party. I got changed in the old butcher room (a sign?) while my wife was able to get dressed in the bridal suite on site. Pretty much all of your needs are here, you just need to bring booze and guests. Ruth has been in the catering business for years and her hubby is a culinary chef in the top echelon for Columbia County. From exotic seafood options to standard, PA Dutch food for the area, your needs (eeerrr wants) for your menu are easily met by a wide variety of options. And, it's freaking delicious. Drawbacks of the location are that it has no AC or heat.....so if it's an early August 95 degree day, you're going to melt. It got down into the 50's on our wedding night and it was slightly chilly inside, just glad there were enough people there to keep the temp up enough to not have people freeze to death. It's also hilly in some spots so when the rain came down, it was slick for people and the outdoor location had to be moved indoors for the ceremony as it wasn't allowed because of people being able to loose their footing. If you want to impress your guests and have them talking for a shoestring budget, at least in comparison to prices we were finding in metropolitan areas, you won't be disappointed.

It's almost impossible to properly write everything I'm grateful for and love about the Pump House…read moreB&B as a place to stay and a wedding venue, but I will try my best. Most pertinent to this website are the following: * The breakfast on offer is absolutely fantastic. Everyone from my wedding who stayed on the property found it just as (and occasionally more) delicious as the decently expensive catering we had for my wedding day. Everything is fresh and there was so much variety. Even my friends with dietary restrictions (including but not limited to: gluten free, vegetarian, dairy sensitive ...) could all find something they could comfortably--and happily--eat! * The beds are comfortable and clean. The sheets are so soft and have a wonderful pattern. There was a great selection of pillows, all with different hardnesses, thicknesses, and etc. You're sure to find one you like. * I am endlessly happy with the coffee on offer in the rooms, and how nice the air conditioning is at cooling rooms with it quickly and quietly. * The property is so beautiful and so peaceful. If ever you need time away from the world, this is the perfect place to do it. * We loved the hike. As Utahns, we may have skewed opinions on what makes a difficult hike, but--in our opinion--this hike wasn't too difficult. It was so beautiful, and was covered enough in foliage to still be fun to walk, even in the rain. :) * If, for whatever reason, you find yourself able to do yoga with Adrienne on the property, do. It was so fantastic. Honestly my favorite place I've ever done yoga. * The yard games on offer are incredibly fun, even with a smaller group of people playing! In case you end up here looking for reviews on the wedding side of the B&B, all I can say is do it. I'll be posting more in-depth reviews on other sites that are more focused on the wedding side of things, but I'm here to tell you to not even question it, just go for it. If you still need convincing, I'll see you on another site. :)

Before I start this review because I want to be totally clear: The Pump House is where you go when…read moreyou want to have an artistic/visually impressive wedding, reception, or event. If you are looking at practicality or cost? There are many other local, cheaper venues with superior parking and capacity. The Pump House, while not difficult to find, is in the middle of nowhere. The wedding reception I attended here was during the winter and had some unique challenges. The driveway needs attention and a few tons of stone, I would not want to drive on it after a rainstorm. Parking here if it has snowed can be challenging due to lack of space and ice, with the ice also a potential risk when walking to the buildings. Cellphone coverage with Verizon was spotty at best. The reception was split between the Studio Hall and Brick Barn. Studio Hall served as the cocktail and buffet space. During normal operations, this serves at the breakfast part of the B&B. Due to the pandemic, all food had to be served by the catering staff. The bride recommends working with vendors who are familiar with the uniqueness of the venue. The Brick Barn served as the main reception area. Setting up, it didn't look all that impressive, and it would have been nice to have one of the heaters on due to the cold. The owners were very helpful with setting up the tables and chairs, saving the wedding party significant time. Day of the wedding reception it looked very picturesque, the venues selling point. The sidewalks around the venue need improvement as they are not well defined and crumbling. It would also clarify the walking paths between the buildings in the winter. The number of bathrooms for the venue was surprisingly adequate. I visited The Manifold House when moving some boxes around, which serves as the honeymoon suite, and I would describe it's styling as "unique." The wedding reception had a limit of 75 people and that seemed to be the right number when not using the venues outdoor spaces. Overall, if you are looking for an artistic/visually impressive venue, The Pump House is for you. The bride got the exact reception she wanted, which made her happy, and that's what mattered.

They said they could do it and assured me it would be colorful and full, with plenty of roses. My brother sent me a picture of the arrangement and it's so far from the Sweet Tranquility I ordered. It's predominantly white, with only two roses showing in the picture ( so 4 total roses- which they admitted while I was giving them my feedback). When I ordered it, I said that maybe a ribbon or bow would be good. Turns out they put a yellow and white polkadot bow in it. Are you kidding??? Not at all the look I wanted. My brother and family got a bunch of white flowers I could get at a grocery store for $10. -$15. - with a comical bow. I got no acknowledgment when I called Scott's - just justification that they are well established ( ie they know what they are doing) and there were lots of different flowers in the arrangement. But no color!!!! and $80 for 4 roses!!!! - Total rip off. If it were my business, I would at least make a quick call or text me saying they are adding a yellow and white polka dot bow. I would have said "No" . Their total disregard for my feedback and their defensiveness leaves me with one of the worst consumer experiences I've ever had.
