I purchased my ESQ Watch in 1999. I never had any problems with it except for getting new batteries and had it cleaned once. About 2 month ago the pin on the band broke off . After reading all the reviews, I took it to Blue Diamond Jewlers to see if they could repair it. They went out of their way to fix it. The ESQ company went out of business 8 years ago, so the pin was not an easy fix. I want to give a shout out to Teresa who went beyond the call of duty. They could not source a new pin, so she called me and asked if she could send the watch to a company in LA which has watches like mine, and could possibly replace the pin. That company did replace the pin and put the band back together again. And not only that, I was only charged only $15.00 for the repair. Sadie helped Jennifer and me find a ring for Jennifer that she really likes. And, with a BIT---but just that---of a stretch, I can afford. It didn't hurt that it was 70% discounted. Now, most of their jewelry is not THAT much-discounted, I'll bet. But it all looks attractive and well-made. Sadie was patient and kind, though we arrived just before closing time. A few months ago I was faced with a difficult decision, I had a medical emergency and really needed funds. I decided to part with some diamond jewelry and went to Blue Diamond Jeweler in Napa. I had an amazing experience at Blue Diamond Jeweler. Amanda attended to me and she was simply SUPERB! She was very personable, knowledgeable and very reassuring. I had a very sentimental piece given to me by my mom that needed resizing. It took me years to get it done for fear that it may get lost or worst damaged. I went to Blue Diamond Jeweler because of all the great reviews. They did not disappoint. It needed to be done 3 sizes up and the piece remained beautifully intact and it was cleaned like it was new all over again. Blue Diamond Jeweler is Five star all around! I went into the store on 8/2 around 12:00. There were two sales people in the store both working with customers. There was also a girl working in the office. I stood there for literally 10 minutes and no one said hello, we'll be right with you nothing. The sad part I was looking for a tennis bracelet for my daughter. Needless to say I bought it at another jeweler. If you don't have the common courtesy to say hello get out of retail. And the office girl.. that's a whole other topic. I went I looking for a pendant to match earrings my wife had received as a gift. While waiting my turn, the owner Altaf was helping a woman whose wedding ring had a damaged prong. I was so impressed with the way he showed exactly how it was damaged and what was needed to fix it. It sounded complicated and definitely not something that could be fixed on the spot easily. Then he provided them with what I thought was an extremely fair price to repair it. The customer was so relieved, and I could tell that Altaf genuinely wanted the ensure the ring was repaired properly. When it was my turn, I was treated to the same caring, interested attention. He helped me find a great ruby and diamond necklace that is just perfect, and at an affordable price. During a great conversation I learned that the owner is also a jewelry maker and has designed many of the pieces in the store. If needed, he would have helped me pick out a setting and stone separately and he would have created a pendant for me. I am so pleased to find a jeweler (an artist!) who makes such high quality pieces and also runs a retail space. I didn't want to write this review but I sent them a message several days ago and haven't heard back. I dropped in and asked if they could change the battery in my watch. They were not able to do it immediately but could and send to me. I have done this often (las year at another jewelers $25 and they wouldn't allow me to pay for postage, they felt they should have done it while I wait). Blue Diamond (and the owner is very nice) changed the battery $50. Okay twice the price I paid at the other place a year ago BUT they charged me $60 for shipping. Now my watch is not that expensive. And I ship/insure quite a bit and cannot imagine this cost 60. Yes in addition to the $50 battery. $110 in total. For a watch battery. Needless to say won't be doing that again read more
