Knowledgeable and friendly waitress who was attentive and gave some recommendations on places for us to visit in Canmore. But most importantly, what great food! This is now in our top 20 restaurants of all time. Wow, the balance and creativity of flavors as well as appearance. Everything was tasty but the star of the show was the scallops and pork belly. There were still a handful of items that I could safely have. I really wanted the schnitzel or Cordon Bleu, but both were fried. Total bummer. The staff and owner were excellent. They understood what I could and couldn't have. That being said, what my wife and I ordered was FANTASTIC. The gluten free bun was amazing. So much so, that I had the check if they made a mistake. I am insanely sensitive, and highly reactive (less than 10ppm gets me violently ill) and had no reaction. My wife loved her meal and could not believe it was GF. The menu had an eastern European feel to it, but I suspect there would be something for everyone. HONESTLY... one of the best home made fresh, natural (real) food restaurants i have ever been to. I would recommend 100/100.

My parents favorite dish of the entire meal was the escargot. I loved the escargot. The French onion soup was a little salty but I finished the entire thing. For mains we ordered the beef Wellington, steak frites, and shrimp fettuccine Alfredo. Beef Wellington: we ordered the filet medium rare, more on the rare side. It came out medium rare/medium. The mushroom sauce was delicious, pastry flaky, and mashed potatoes creamy. Steak Frites: the fries were a let down because they had no truffle on them, the steak was quite flavorful with the sauce. It was unfortunate that the steak had a tendon running down the side of the strip. Prawns Fettucine: the sauce was very creamy. The noodles were almost too al dente for my liking (but that may be a style of French cooking?). The prawns didn't add anything special Dessert we got the banana foster. The cooking flambé display was impressive. The banana foster was good, but other than the flambé nothing too exciting. If I were to go back, I would try the chicken or duck. . . . Unfortunately, the mussels were a little fishy.

Our server (if going by the receipt, her name was Kelly) was so personable and gave us her honest opinions on what to order. And the ambiance was excellent as well. We went in for a 6:15pm reservation on a Friday night, and we were pleased to see that it was fairly quiet, warm, and intimate. By the end of the meal, it had filled up and gotten louder, so if you're looking for a quiet date night, maybe try to come for 5:30 or so. And the food--just wonderful. The cider glazed Brussels sprouts dish was perhaps our favorite. I don't think I've ever had better fried Brussels sprouts, and the sweet and savory notes were perfectly balanced. That's also what makes their pear and brie pizza a popular item as well: sweet/savory balance and the correct amount of truffle oil to make fragrant and not overpower. The cavatelli was also excellent, the fennel-lemony flavor helped not make the dish feel so heavy. The saffron arancini was just okay, but everything else was so good that I wasn't unhappy. I was a bit sad that they didn't offer any birthday dessert, but it was still such a fantastic experience. We'll definitely be back again!

Er...yeah...I went there! :D I love the Yelp App. I had no idea how I travelled before! It listed a few places near me and off I went to what I hope was the best Pho in Calgary. Ordered up the standard Rare Beef Pho and the Satay Pho. As an appy, tried their egg roll. Egg roll was pencil thin, I didn't know if anything was in it. It reminded me of Morrocan Cigars. A bit of a let down on filling, however, it was quite tasty. The satay was HUGE! Definitely sharing size for their standard order. Good flavours with a great spicy kick. Was pretty impressed with it. The moment of truth, will their Rare Beef Pho match up to my fav in the GTA? Drum roll!!! I have to say...nah! It was a bit of a let down. Beef was fine - we are in Calgary so shouldn't have too much probs there. The soup base was a bit watery and lacked that deep frangrant flavours that I associate with good Pho. It's still a return place if I was running around Calgary again. 3.5 stars! Cheers.
