I discounted two stars because I crawled under the crawl space after they were done and found that there were not very many mechanical fasteners attaching the vapor barrier to the concrete wall. I asked the owner when he came out how far apart, the mechanical fastener should be, and he told me 5 feet. I already knew the answer before asking him, but I was curious if he would tell the truth. The Internet says anywhere from 12 to 24 inches, and his guys told me every 18 inches. They also told me that they didn't do it every 18 inches because they were running out of fasteners I understand that the owner loses money when he has to send the guys back out, but a few hours labor is not worth your integrity. I do believe the owner knew that he was telling me a lie when he told me every 5 feet. There is a chance that he was ignorant of it, but if you're ignorant of it, then say so. I would hire these guys, but definitely verify the work when they are done or have somebody do so.
